Hermes knows what power feels like unencumbered and free flowing. How it sparks out of the fingertips of heroes, and settles softly like dewdrops in the hair of nymphs.

Death is not used to offerings, bribes on the other hand are a very familiar occurance.
“Ah.” Than hums in understanding, not allowing himself to turn and reward the taller entity with his full, unearned attention. He settles for a fleeting sidewards glance, instead. “I see how it is.”

Melinoë began to walk across the room. “I’ve developed a sort of hypothesis, you see.” She let her fingertips trail lightly along one of the desks.
Nemesis tracked the movement. “Have you.”
“I have.” Melinoë had reached her. Before she could lose her nerve, she put a hand on the desk behind Nemesis and leaned down towards her. The air between them was hot and thick; only inches separated their faces. “I think we can be of use to each other.”
There it was again—Nem’s eyes dropped down to her lips. She leaned a fraction closer. “Use,” she repeated. “What kind of use?”
OR: Melinoe is a graduate student getting ready to defend her PhD. Nemesis is a postdoctoral student in the lab. Tensions build, and Melinoë decides it might be time to seek out some stress relief.

She of course understood their concerns, but it did make it difficult to perfect the spell. When she told this to Icarus, he practically insisted that she could test him for as much as she needed. So here they were, alone in the woods practicing magick.
She took a deep breath in, then out, and began to chant.
