Bio

Circular badge with the words 'I was here for beta' with an AO3 logo

I write and sometimes my writing ends up here.
I really wish there was a DM system here on AO3. In lieu of it, you can write me an email if you want: [email protected].
They/them/their.

It has come to my attention that using em dashes is being taken as an indication that a given text may have been written or enhanced with the use of generative AI; the accusation has expanded slightly to include any kind of punctuation that appears too – well, let’s call a spade a spade, too correct.
I have a literature degree. I am about to get a graduate literature degree. I pride myself in knowing how to use punctuation correctly, including “advanced” punctuation such as “smart” quotation marks (see what I just did?), en dashes – these guys – and em dashes—these fellows here—and how to format my text.
Thus, a promise to my readers, and to myself: I have never nor will I ever use generative AI to write fiction and then pass it off as my own creation. The closest I will ever get to using AI in my writing is spellcheck and automatic substitution (such as auto-correcting Aelfric to Ælfric).
Every single sentence, paragraph, and story I post to this account was created by me, a human, occasionally with the help of human beta readers, with my and our human, natural intelligence.
