Bio
I'm a Star Trek fan from the time of the first film, ST:TMP, and am greatly into every series up to "Enterprise," for which I just didn't see the magic. But it was DS9 that awakened something within me - my need to write my own stories!
And, strangely enough, not just DS9 but one and only one pairing in DS9 - Garak and Bashir. Up to then, I had been totally content to accept the canon relationships offered to us - Picard/Crusher, Riker/Troi, Kes/Neelix, but never felt great enthusiasm for them or wanted to write one word about them. Then a mesmerizing gray-skinned alien sat down across from a gorgeous human doctor and the rest is history. I absolutely adore those two.
I'm also fascinated with the potential in the AU versions of Garak and Bashir, and am fortunate enough to have autographed photos from each actor signed in their alternate personas - Gul Garak and Captain Bashir! I'm also very much a Dukat fan and have invented my own alternate realities in which he may be arrogant, egomaniacal - but heroic too! Basically, I love the Cardassians and the actors playing the Cardassians.
Garak rules that world, though - no doubt and no question, always. And so does Andrew Robinson, a man so nice that it's almost unbelievable, and truly one of God's gifts to Star Trek.
I have a little Tumblr blog under the name mkkstartrek which consists mostly of my postings of photos from my (chiefly DS9) Star Trek convention past, or sometimes other photos I've taken and liked. My meetings with several famous "Cardassians" and other residents of DS9 are documented there.
My preferred style of writing is to try to add some humor/play to situations and relationships - that's the key to life. But I sometimes experiment with tragedy; it makes me upset to read stories like that, but that's life too, and not every experience for our heroes has been happy.
