Fanfic writing runs on obsession, and obsession is not evenly distributed across time.
I've been diagnosed with AuDHD, and I'm on Ritalin. It helps, but not with the obsession "cycles". It helped a lot when I was on holiday and writing every day for (yetanotherfanfic) as if it was my job. But I'm back at work and it drains my joy and my energy and aaaaah. Yeah, I have excuses, always excuses. Writing isn't even the only thing I DO in my free time, because video games ! Husband ! I DRAW sooooo much... I never post my drawings tho, and technically I never post my fanfics either, because I'll write a decent chapter for a decent plot and then move on to my next obsession and repeat the cycle.The problem with Fantastic Idiots is that I haven't been able to be obsessed with One Piece since the end of 2023, roughly when I finished writing all I have now (16 chapters, 5 still unpublished). I stopped publishing chapters in April 2024. It's been more than two years. I am my worst nightmare: a fic I like, on hiatus. And One Piece never comes back.
I am desperate (not a housewife)(well, I am a wife and will soon have a house, but I unfortunately also have a job).
And worst of all, I am French.
