I'm a former English professor who had to retire too young because of serious health issues. I have a lot of professional writing experience in nearly every category except fiction, so I was really surprised when I started getting plot and character ideas after playing the Mass Effect trilogy too many times. These stories are my first attempt at creative writing since high school, a very long time ago.
My husband and son got me interested in gaming. They know I love detailed, character-driven stories when I read, so they pointed me toward BioWare. I've been a fan since Neverwinter Nights. If I had to pick, then KOTOR, Mass Effect 2, and Dragon Age 2 are my favorites. I could just play those over and over. More recently I've branched out into the Fallout (REALLY like New Vegas) and Witcher franchises.
Update: we now have a PS4, and I can add Horizon Zero Dawn and the Uncharted Series to games I really enjoy.
When I first started writing, I created 5 connected stories about FemShep and Thane over several months. Then I stalled. After a 2-year hiatus, I decided to redo things. I'm rewrote the first 5 stories to publish them as one longer, more coherent fic . And now I'm working on adding new chapters, as I and my beta get them done. Morgan and Thane will finally get to have a story that takes them beyond the Omega 4 relay! Yay! (And yes, the series will go NSFW at some point).
Update: Progress has been slower than I'd like because of health issues, but I AM still plugging away!
*Note: In these stories, the Shepard/Thane/Garrus relationships will never become an angsty triangle. This is straight-up Shrios. In my ME universe, Garrus is Shepard's best friend/big brother. His romantic interests lay...elsewhere. You have been warned, since I don't want to disappoint those looking for that dynamic.
