Watching the Canadian family sitcom Life With Derek and noticing the palpable sexual chemistry between Derek and Casey got me into fandom spaces. I had heard about this thing called fanfiction from lurking around the edges of the Harry Potter fandom (shout-out to MuggleNet!), so I Googled "Derek + Casey fanfiction." There were tons of results, so I started reading. And my life was never the same! I had never fallen so hard or so fast for a couple. They are still my OTP.
I posted my first story on Fanfiction.net in 2007. I wrote feverishly until 2013, for fandoms including Dasey (Life With Derek), Seddie (iCarly), Puckleberry (Glee), and Dair (Gossip Girl). I resumed writing from 2019 to 2020 but haven't picked it up again since. I think I'm content to only be a reader now. Never say never, though! I've been visiting AO3 for years, but I wanted to create an account so I can comment on the wonderful Heated Rivalry stories I'm finding daily. I've been down bad for this show since Nov. 28, 2025 ... and I don't think it's a coincidence that two Canadian series, Life With Derek and Heated Rivalry (both featuring forbidden romance, hockey, and a couple who's insanely competitive), mark the first and second waves of my absorption in fandom. They just make 'em better up north!
