also i deeply mistrust the otw, ao3 is literally the only good thing they've made and i very much worry that their inclusiveness towards all fanworks will not last
fanlore etc. can burn in hell, fandom deserves better than a one-sided and shipper-focused garbage pile that writes male fans out of history
I again repeat that the history of fandom is so far, in both amateur and academic settings, narrowly focused on a (usually female and SF/Fantasy-focused) small slice of what could be considered "fandom".

oh and if you're a straight/bi woman who writes m/m, your sexuality is most certainly not incidental to the reason why you're writing m/m. stop pretending otherwise. no, it's got nothing to do with there being more male characters to choose from. also most of the focus i’m describing here are ooc trash and i hate that they’re what fanfiction is often associated with - often by its writers! - when the concept of fanfiction holds so much potential
