The fanfic world is a grey and membranous place; people come to it for vastly different reasons, and they take vastly different things with them as well. My job is to make sure that I tell my readers that this is a work of fiction. That is all. If you make the choice to consume something, then you should have the wisdom to decide how to deal with that consumption.

The beauty of writing predominantly lies in its ability to break vast spectrum of colours into minuscule shades, and then strive to go even beyond that. Words come from the mind, and we shouldn't be afraid to explore both light and shadows. A large component of good story telling requires some form of realism whenever possible, so If you have an aggressive Dom for example, 9 out of 10 he’s going to eventually say something pretty nasty.

By seeking to delineate and curtail, you take a lot of richness out of of literature, especially online literature. Essentially you seek to strangle a wild thing of beauty that gives its best work when it grows free.

Whatever you are: reader, writer or critic, we are all of us internal galaxies with immense capacities to be stretched. The internet is a great gift precisely for its Otherness, the fact that everything becomes equal, even values.
