Summary

Loosely the third to the other two (Oblations & Idolatry) that I've written, but spoiler free and doing it's own thing. You don't really have to read the other two I wrote to get this one :) it's mostly smut tbh

Summary
18 Year old Nanami Momozono is settling into her first year of godhood alongside her familiar, Mizuki. While shopping in the world over yonder in preparation for Mikage Shrine’s Summer Festival, she comes face to face with the fearsome yokai, Tomoe, when he saves her from being eaten. When Tomoe is pursued by the gods for his supposed return to a life of terror, Nanami must defend and rehabilitate him to atone for dragging him into trouble. Through growing pains, close proximity, and a very human summer break, the two grow closer and ultimately stumble into their destiny, set in motion half a millennium in the past.

“Hey, Maomao?” she almost whispers, leaning in closer. Her tone is swift and precise, but her gaze seems to be drinking Maomao in. The distance between them is so small, almost insignificant… Maomao is only half listening. “If there was an unknown poison in front of you, and you were told you had just one chance to drink it… What would you do?”
They’re still watching each other with half-lidded expressions when Maomao answers without thinking: “I’d swallow it in one gulp.” She feels Shisui let out a soft laugh, warm breath rippling across the skin of Maomao’s face. Then, she realizes. Not only that, but she understands. The poison-sweet smile Shisui employs could warrant a world war’s worth of casualties.
“Right,” she cheerily quips and begins to walk away. Maomao’s hand stills in the air, placed where it was almost touching Shisui’s cheek.

One-shot that explores the gay-ass tension that was between Maomao and Shisui during that one scene. You can't tell me they didn't at least think about running away together! Make them kiss, damn it.
