So take canon and go slightly (or wildly) to the left.... fics where things could have turned out this way but didn't, the what ifs, the for wants of a nail, the characters being just a little more perceptive, insistent or communicative, or maybe we'll just throw a crucial canon plot point or setting element completely on its head, who knows?
Small differences can result in big changes so characters, dynamics and plot points are liable to take off in all sorts of directions.

Summary
I've spent too many hours reading an awful lot of wonderful fanfic and wanted to keep track of my favourites and shout about them to other people.
Sometimes you're looking to scratch a specific itch so I've sorted them into subcollections to make it easier to find what you're in the mood for.
-I tend towards MDZS rather than The Untamed but there's so much frankencanon and great content inspired by the different adaptations that I take each fic on its own terms, rather than expecting them to adhere to any particular canon.
-Wangxian heavy when it comes to ships, although there's gen in there too. WWX and LWJ are likely to feature pretty prominently throughout most of the fics.
-There'll probably be both 'not Jiang Cheng friendly' and Jiang Cheng 'friendly' fics recommended at various points, for me it's about what works within the worldbuilding of that fic rather than a hard or fast rule.
-All sorts of ratings included, as always mind the ratings and tagsHope this helps someone find some more of the MDZS content they were craving!
