Phuwin scoffs though it comes out more like a flustered huff, “Can you not say it like that?”
“Like what?” Pond asks, tilting his head innocently even though he's already slipping into the captions chair, spreading his legs wider than necessary.
“Like you're asking for something else.”
Pond turns his head slowly, their eyes making contact and Phuwin feels his cheeks flush hotter, “... am I?” he asks, his deep voice coming out lower than usual.
Phuwin's pulse quickens as he looks away instead of answering and clears his throat. He hates how easy it is for Pond to do this—how one look and that gorgeous smile of his can melt every line between them. They're friends, they're supposed to be friends but he knows the truth. Friends aren't supposed to be bent over surfaces and fucked dumb.
