I chose this pseud because the poem 'Hope' is the thing with feathers by Emily Dickinson keeps appearing in my life whenever I need it. Just like how fanfiction showed up in my life at a time I was desperate for community.
First, I read it in a college class when the stress of being in a new place surrounded by new people was becoming too much.
Then, I heard John Green quote it when I was getting overwhelmed at my job and considering quitting teaching, my dream job (I did end up quitting).
Since then it has been a major influence in my life (along with much of Dickinson's work) and I wanted to share that with the community that has given me new hope as I start the next chapter in my life <3
Hope is there, even when you can't hear it.
