Summary
The world ended, and then it didn't, and Aloy seeks a new purpose. In the meantime, visiting Free Heap and one Petra Forgewoman every so often is certainly worthwhile, as Aloy eventually finds out. Really, Oseram do flirt at the most inopportune times.
Post-canon, spoilers abound. Petra is a character introduced in the side-quest "Heap of Trouble" but also shows up near the end of the game if you missed it. In either case, she is an outrageous flirt and I need more of her in my life.

Backstory: Aloy meets the older, flirtatious Petra Forgewoman in Free Heap and fires her cannon (literally). In this story, we see how the wandering Aloy, who has never belonged, is drawn to keep returning to Petra’s side.
Rec: I love the way the fic seamlessly incorporates consent. Plus, the characterisation is great! I loved Petra’s character as soon as she appeared and knew she would be a firm ship fave. Queer lady metalworkers for the win! *heart eyes*
