Work Text:
Chuuya’s eyes were like an ocean.
Sometimes they were calm, captivating whoever was gazing into them at the moment. Sometimes the waves were lively with joy, bringing a smile upon people’s faces. Sometimes the waves would turn violent and dark clouds would gather, sending chills down everyone’s spines. Sometimes there was a storm, and nobody would be able to look at them. Sometimes the dark clouds of Corruption would remove any trace of blue and nobody would be able to survive the catastrophe that ensued, including Chuuya himself.
But then there was Dazai, the anomaly that could change the ocean as easily as one could turn their own hands.
With just a single touch, the dark clouds of Corruption would recede. With just a single word, the calm waters could turn violent, but never into a storm, because Chuuya could never truly hate Dazai. With just a single smile, the violent waves would calm, because Chuuya knew that Dazai’s true smiles were as rare as a blue moon.
And Chuuya still couldn’t decide if he liked this.
Dazai’s eyes were like a void.
Looking into them was like looking into a dark room where you couldn’t see anything. It made people turn away in fear of losing themselves in the darkness. It sent fear coursing through people’s veins, because they truly couldn’t figure out what resided in the darkness. Maybe Dazai himself didn’t know.
But then there was Chuuya, the only one who could make the darkness go away, even if just a little bit.
When Dazai saw Chuuya, a spark would appear in his eyes, as if a veil had been pulled back to reveal the light within. Previously dead eyes would be filled with life, like the first blossom after a harsh winter. Cold eyes would then be filled with warmth, because Chuuya was the sun that brought light into Dazai’s otherwise dark life.
And Dazai still couldn’t decide if he liked this.
