Chapter Text
Their school president is a weird one, to say the least.
He's a senior, who unbelievably enough, is able to keep his hair dyed within school grounds and his nails polished with pink tints without any problems from the headmaster whatsoever.
Usually he'd be found chilling by the cafeteria, eating anything sweet on the school menu for that day or be in the theatre watching the poorly put on shows by the sophomores.
He acts flamboyantly, not too much; he has a certain flair around him that causes him to look a little less manly than others, but he remains intimidating all the same. His courage wasn't meant to be challenged, as he's gone as far to punch a guy taller than him for calling a fellow classmate a 'faggot'.
But punching a dude hasn't been the pinnacle of the violence he's handled; their president's been through worse. Despite this, his somehow effeminate actions remain.
Due to the complexity of their school president, being his secretary is pretty hard work.
Just ask Namjoon.

"Jin." Namjoon deadpans as the man continues to leisurely file his nails, "Jin." He repeats, making sure to catch his attention this time.
Said man finally looks up at him with a smile, putting his file away with a clang on the desk.
"Oh hello." He greets courteously, "What brings you here Namjoon?" His voice is a drawl, a little teasing, but Namjoon ignores that in favor of slapping stacks of paper on his desk, surprising him a little.
"It's the list of activities students requested to do this school festival." He explains, tapping at the papers irately, "They need to be approved."
"Then approve everything." Jin surmises, as if it was the easiest thing to do. Namjoon gapes at him, shocked at his superior's suggestion. "What?" He exclaims, "That would be literal chaos."
Jin clicks his tongue and makes a show of winking at him before finger gunning, "But it'll be the good kind."
"No." Namjoon immediately interjects, "Bad. The worst. Terrible kind."
Jin sighs, running a hand through his pink hair. "I suppose we could oppose to some ideas."
Namjoon sighs in relief, "Thank you." Turning to walk away, happy that he didn't have to deal with any of Jin's antics-
"Split the papers in half and throw the other half away."
He spoke too soon.
"Jin." He mutters, exhaustion clear in his voice. Jin ignores this in favor of humming happily in question, prompting Namjoon to speak. "We need to actually read them." He says, pausing for a second, noticing his choice of words. "Wait, but that doesn't mean I-"
"You said we." Jin says quickly, catching Namjoon in mid-stutter. "Then you'll help me." He concludes with a grin, shuffling through the papers and waving half of it in the air. "Come now Joonie! We have papers to approve!" He exclaims ecstatically, chuckling as Namjoon gives him a sour look.
When Namjoon pulls up a chair to sit across him, Jin hands him the papers with a smile. "Isn't it nice? We're bonding!" He says with a hum, taking two red pens from the pencil holder right behind him. He gives one to Namjoon, who grunts in response as he begins to read the various requests written down in poor, hasty scribbles.

"Hm." Jin wonders out loud after a few minutes of silence, "Are nap cafes a good idea?"
Namjoon stops in mid-check, raising a brow at Jin's question. "A nap café?"
Jin nods, holding the paper up and waving it in Namjoon's view. "Yep." He chuckles at Namjoon's confusion as he reads the note, "Yoongi seems very adamant about having one. He even made Jimin write the same request."
"Is it a themed café?" Namjoon asks, confused on what it actually is.
"Nope. Says here it's a normal café with a bunch of pillows in it and anyone can fall asleep."
Namjoon snorts, putting the paper back in Jin's hands. "It's hardly practical." He complains, "Why don't they just do a normal café?"
"For variety?" Jin offers, smiling hopefully.
Namjoon presses a finger to his temples, "I don't think it's the good kind of variety."
"I beg to differ." Jin says with a smile, signing the request with one swift stroke before setting it aside to the pile of accepted requests. Namjoon frowns. "What excitement would sleeping bring to a festival?" He asks, expecting it to be rhetorical until Jin answers him with a smirk. "Oh tons."
There's a pause until Namjoon has the voice to reply, "We are leaving the windows and doors open. Otherwise I won't tolerate it."
"I'm the president Namjoon." Jin rolls his eyes, "I know what I'm doing."
"And what if you don't." Namjoon says, the question being too monotone to be even considered as one.
Jin cradles his face in his palms, blinking up at Namjoon coyly, "That's why I have you!" He says in a saccharinely sweet voice, snickering uncontrollably when Namjoon makes a disgusted face, ruining the atmosphere he was setting up. "You're here to provide opinions that I may or may not acknowledge!"
Namjoon nods in understanding, trying out Jin's philosophy. "I don't approve."
"Opinion not acknowledged." Jin snaps back just as quick as Namjoon replied, smiling innocently. "See?" He says, chuckling as Namjoon glares at him.
"All I saw was you rejecting my opinion." Namjoon spits out, irritated but with no malice in his words.
Jin's smile doesn't falter. "Not to challenge your logic, but clearly you heard me rejecting your opinion."
Namjoon sighs, knowing that he's not going to win the argument anytime soon. "Fine. The nap café stays."
"Yey!" Jin hums, leaning back on his chair once more to return to business.

He met Jin at the student council elections.
Traditionally, the system for the formation of the student councils is as follows: Two parties are formed by recruiting. The opposing teams are required to run campaigns within school grounds promoting their goals and ideals, and whoever gathers more attention to themselves inevitably have the upper hand.
People voted for each position individually, not voting for the whole party itself, which is why the teams end up getting scrambled in the end. But ultimately victory is given to the party that has conquered most of the positions given in the council.
Originally, he wasn't even in the same team as Jin.
He was on the other side, parading the red team as their bet for the secretarial position. Namjoon didn't really plan to run for anything at all, rather, because the team had no other choice than to hire him as an eligible choice; Jimin refused the position.
He didn't even know much people that he can expect to vote for him. Hoseok, Yoongi and Jimin seemed to be the only ones he had a concrete vote from.
So when he won, overpowering over Vernon with a measly one point, he was confused.
But he vowed to do his best, despite how unprepared he was for responsibilities.
When it came to the council's staff, Jin was the first to approach him, shaking his hand in congratulations. Namjoon's first impression of him was good. His actions implied that he was a calm and reserved person, with enough charm to carry him by.
His assumptions were wrong, except for the charm part

"You approved the nap café?" Yoongi questions, a little surprised. Namjoon nods slowly, sighing in defeat as he leaned back unto the bark of the tree behind him.
They sat near the school fountain, finding the cool shade under one of the trees an apt place to converse. It's been a long day, consisting of Namjoon hurrying to type out documents and generally keeping his average grades intact, so having a quiet moment under the trees felt nice.
Yoongi interrupts his thoughts with a huff of laughter, "...Thought it was definitely going to be rejected." He mumbles, scratching his head.
Namjoon sighs, his hands digging in his pockets to take a small permission slip and hand it to him. Yoongi scrunches his face in confusion, but takes it anyway with a snort.
With a slow shake of his head, Namjoon returned to relaxing against the tree. "To be honest, I thought so too."
"What happened then?" The other asks, slipping the piece of paper into his shirt's pocket.
"Jin." Namjoon says immediately, not hesitating one bit. "Jin happened."
Yoongi sighs, grumbling, "Well, I brought this unto myself. I'll do my best to deliver."
"You better. Apparently Jin's looking forward to it." Namjoon warns, he's a little unsure as to why Jin would want a nap cafe, but he's Jin. He supposes it's okay for him to be tacky with his choices. "I don't know how sincere he is, but he wants it to happen. I guess."
"Then tell him to help out." Yoongi states, yawning as a breeze weaves through the greenery. "If he wants it to happen, he better pitch in."
Namjoon chuckles, wringing his wrists. "He probably will."
"You too Joonie." Yoongi adds quickly, tapping the younger's forehead. "I expect full cooperation."
Namjoon grunts at this, standing up from his seat and sauntering off before Yoongi can pull him into his plans. "I'm gonna be forced to anyway."

"Jin please turn the page a little quieter."
"I'm not sure how loud page turning can be but okay."
They're left alone in the council room again, with Jin toying with a magazine he found in the confiscated pile and Namjoon finishing his thesis for tomorrow's defense. It's almost become a routine for them to stay back in school for a while and just finish whatever they need to do with each other's company.
He doesn't mind Jin's company at all, after all, it does feel less lonelier with somebody flipping pages of a magazine occasionally.
"So, brown or blonde?" Jin asks, out of the blue. Namjoon pauses from his typing, giving him a look. "What for?" He asks, eyeing the magazine the president had his hands on. "You're not planning to dye your hair again, are you?" Namjoon eyes him warily, uncomfortable at Jin casually planning to disobey rules. Again.
Jin hums as he sees the uncomfortable look on Namjoon's face, uncrossing his legs as he leaned unto his desk with a smile. "Maybe. I'm just planning for my future." He sing songs, tilting his head to give Namjoon a small smirk.
Namjoon replies with a frown. "Well that future would get you expelled."
"I'm not expelled right now." Jin quips back, a playful grin on his face. "I'm just trying to express myself."
"Aren't you worried that you'll get expelled?" Namjoon retorts.
"Maybe." Jin says with a shrug, flicking his bangs out of the way of his eyes. "But I own this school so it's fine."
Namjoon nervously laughs at Jin's insolence, choosing not to acknowledge his last statement.
