Work Text:
It was another lovely sunny day in Yokohama, Louisa and Yosano walked down the street hand in hand towards more shops. Atsushi trailing behind and holding holding all the various boxes of goods they’ve bought. Louisa admittedly felt bad for the boy, but he was the unlucky fool to not get “too busy” when Yosano decided it was time for one of her regular shopping sprees.
After another few minutes of walking they arrived to the next shop. It had a few dresses in the window intending to drag in curious people on the street. Yosano stopped walking and pulled the door open dragging Louisa inside with her.
“Another store? Are you certain? We’ve bought so much already… I think Atsushi would collapse if we make him carry anything more.” Louisa looked back outside to him, obviously struggling to balance the various colored boxes.
“He’ll be fine, he knows better than to let a single one fall,” Yosano said “Plus I was eyeing a certain dress, it’d fit you perfectly! I want to buy you it but I wasn’t certain of your size.”
“Are you certain? I can pay for it at the very least then, I’m positive Mr. Fitzgerald wouldn’t mind me making one more purchase for myself.” Although she wasn’t completely certain on that. Even if they had a few million to work with, they still needed to preserve every dime to get to his goal of 50 billion.
“No I insist on paying, this is a gift for my girlfriend after all!” Yosano smiled and gave her a little kiss and she felt her cheeks heat up. Every time she called Louisa her girlfriend she couldn’t help but get flustered. Not that she minded at all as she was blessed with whom she considered the prettiest girlfriend in the world. Digging through the rack Yosano pulled out a simple knee-length pleated cream colored dress. “See it’s even your color! Come on let’s have you try it on.”
“It’s so much shorter than what I usually wear,” She looked down to her ankle-length skirt, “I hope it’s not too improper of me to wear it… I’ll still try it on if you insist it’ll look good on me.”
Louisa went to the dressing room and slipped off her regular clothes, taking a moment to neatly fold them and hanging her blanket like shawl on the coat hanger. It was a gift from her parents before she left to join the Guild so she made sure to always take the utmost care of it. She put the dress on and looked in the mirror. Looking down herself she furrowed her brow, this simply couldn’t look good on her.
“Come on out my dearest, I want to see!” Yosano chimed and Louisa felt her cheeks heat up once again. “I’m certain you look absolutely adorable.”
“I don’t know that much…” She poked her head out of the dressing room before stepping out and covered herself up. “What do you think?”
“I was right! You look even more adorable than I imagined!” Yosano pulled her close and gave her another kiss causing her to blush even more, “Go put your clothes back on so I can pay.”
She hurriedly put her regular outfit back on, her shawl comfortably back on her shoulders. By the time she was done Yosano had already finished paying, the dress now neatly folded up into another package. She grabbed Louisa’s hand and together they left the store. Once again another box was handed to poor Atsushi and he stumbled trying to balance them all.
“I-is this it? Are you two finally finished?” He stumbled again, a date between the girlfriends meant the amount bought nearly doubled.
“I think so, we should hurry back so we don’t miss the train as well,” Louisa looked towards the setting sun. “Time really flies doesn’t it?”
“Especially when I’m with you! Let’s have tea when we get back,” Yosano paused “Or maybe we could try and find a crepe kart first. They do go lovely with tea.”
“Could we please hurry? I think I’m going to die if I have to carry these any longer.” Atsushi clearly was struggling to keep the stack balanced.
“Let’s just go home, I did pick up some lovely tea biscuits earlier we can have those.” Louisa decided to take pity on the poor man-tiger, even if she did adore crepes especially from the various shops in this area.
“Alright my darling,” She leaned over to give Louisa another peck on the cheek. “Also promise me you’ll wear that dress for me sometime alright?”
“I promise,” She felt her face warm up, pet names were truly a weakness for her. “Maybe I’ll even wear it tomorrow!”
“That sounds perfect! Now let’s head home.” Yosano laced her fingers with Louisa’s and the shorter of the two rested her head on the other’s shoulder. Then together they began their walk home, more than happy they got to spend one of their rare days off together.
