Chapter Text
It’s not exactly the lack of warmth that wakes him, but the side it is lacking from. Jimin sits slowly, glancing at the spot where Taehyung should be. Jungkook shifts on his right, but remains deep in sleep. Jimin looks at the alarm clock, “3:56” blaring in red.
Jimin looks around the room, searching for signs of his husband. The light in bathroom was off, eliminating one possibility. He carefully slides off the bed. His feet hit the soft rug, and he almost heads to the door when he notices curtains fluttering.
The balcony door is cracked, the soft breeze of autumn blowing the long drapes inside. Jimin pushes them aside. “Ah, there he is.”
Taehyung leans along the railing, taking in the white glimmer of the moon on a puddle below. Shades of dark blue and purple mix to create the sky, a few stars outshining the city lights. The night is mostly silent, only the sound of crickets and a few passing cars reaching his ears.
He’s watching a moth fly around the lights of the neighboring building when two sturdy arms wrap around his waist. He flinches, heart leaping into his throat. Before he can scream, he hears a whisper of “It’s just me, Tae.”. He relaxes, Jimin’s chin resting on his shoulder.
“What are you doing out here? It’s 4 am.” Jimin hums against his skin, hands tracing small patterns on his sides in a silent apology.
“Couldn’t sleep.” Taehyung replies, leaning back onto Jimin’s chest.
“Is everything okay?” Taehyung smiles at the concern in his older husband’s voice. Taehyung’s anxiety was known to keep the brunette awake. He knew that Jimin worried whenever it happened. Both his husbands disliked how the lack of sleep affected him.
“Everything is fine, Minnie. I’m just thinking.”
“About what?”
“How much I love you and Kookie.” Taehyung doesn’t need to turn around to know that Jimin’s face is red from more than just the chilly air. He turns anyway, capturing the shorter male’s lips. Pulling away, he rests his forehead on Jimin’s.
“Sap.” Jimin teases, kissing him again. “Come one, you’re going to freeze out here.”
“But I have you now. Won’t you keep me warm, babe?” Taehyung’s hands grip Jimin’s hips, unconsciously pressing his body closer to his. Jimin just giggles, freeing himself of Taehyung’s hold. He takes his hand, soft, warm skin meeting cooler.
“I will, but Kookie is all alone in bed. Doesn’t he deserve some cuddles too?”
Taehyung laughs, letting himself be pulled back towards the flat. “Of course he does! Can’t leave out my baby bun.”
Jimin succeeds in getting his husband back into the flat. The two are giggling madly, Taehyung showering the elder in kisses. Jungkook remains asleep through it all, oblivious to his husbands’ antics.
“I love you.” Taehyung’s voice is barely above a whisper. Jimin tightens his arms around the brunette’s shoulders.
“I love you too.” They stand there for a while, staring at each other. Jimin can feel himself melting under Taehyung’s gaze. He flushes, breaking eye contact by dropping his eyes to the floor. When he looks up again Taehyung is still looking at him, his expression soft and fond.
“Do I get my cuddles now?” Taehyung grins at him, and Jimin feels himself falling in love all over again. He doesn’t reply, just pressing another kiss to the other’s lips. He crawls back to his spot next to Jungkook, the younger unconsciously throwing an arm around his waist.
“Well?” he asks. Taehyung huffs, climbing in after him. He presses against the elder, hair tickling Jimin’s chin.
“You’ll be the big spoon?” Taehyung is looking up at him, giving him puppy dog eyes and pouting. Jimin, forever weak for his husband’s charms, agrees immediately.
“Of course, honey.” Jimin hums softly, petting Taehyung’s hair until his breathing evens out. Caged between the two and confident that both his loves are asleep, he lets himself drift off.
