Chapter Text
Work wasn't always stressful to Jungkook. Most of the time he liked his job very much. Mixing different tracks and samples to get the perfect instrumental. And the fact that his best friend Min Yoongi aka Producer SUGA worked there as well really lifted the weights off his shoulders.
The songs he and Yoongi created were always on top of the charts, of course they weren't called the best for nothing. The only team that was close to beating them were a duo, Kim Namjoon and Kim Taehyung. The Deadly Kims as all of Korea called them. These duo's songs were always neck and neck on the South Korean Pop Charts. But despite the speculations, they're all very good friends.
Of couse, being a music producer had it's ups and downs. The awards framed at their shared and personal studios were an example of the ups. The lack of sleep and stress were an example of the downs.
Creating music was usually a very fun experience, finding just the right melody or rhymes gave Jungkook a sense of accomplishment. But, there were times where they're pressured by deadlines, the melodies they came up with sounded way to familiar to be their own, the lyrics they come up with weren't touching enough, the sound didn't fit the singer's voice or image, and so on.
When times like those came, Jungkook wished for nothing more than to go home to his awaiting husband and adorable son.
Being a producer usually meant you spend most of your time at the studio, usually until the early hours of the day and for Jeon Jungkook it's no different. So it wasn't surprising to him when he came home at a little past 11 PM to be greeted by his husband's soft snoring in an otherwise quiet house.
Jungkook tiptoed around his house, walking past his own bedroom to go to his son's.
Park Seungjae was the most energetic and adorable five year old boy that Jungkook had ever had the pleasure to encounter. The minute he and Jimin walked into the foster house two years ago and saw the back then three year old boy, they knew he was the one for them. And not a day goes by where Jungkook didn't give himself a pat in the back for adopting his current son. Best decision of his life, second only to his decision of marrying Jimin.
He pushed the door to his son's room, the door hinge creaked loudly as he moved it slowly. Jungkook cringed, scared the sound will wake his sleeping son. The room was lit by the small nightlight on the bedside table. Jungkook walked towards his son's sleeping body, the corners of his mouth lifted as he pushed back the hair in front of Seungjae's eyes. His son stirred in his sleep, Jungkook retreated his hand before he saw Seungjae's eyes fluttering open.
"Dad?" His son said sleepily. Jungkook smiled. Seungjae stretched his hands towards Jungkook, wanting to be lifted up.
Bending down before he took his son in his hands, Jungkook let out a small, up we go, before he cradled his son.
"I missed you." Seungjae said softly, Jungkook smiled sadly when his son nuzzled against his neck.
"Sorry I haven't been home to tuck you in big guy." Seungjae tightened the hands around Jungkook's neck when Jungkook started lightly tapping his back, successfully lulling the five year old back to sleep after a minute.
"I love you, Dad." Jungkook hears Seungjae whispered before falling back asleep.
Jungkook bent down to put the now sleeping child back on his bed, he pulled the iron man blanket back before he laid his son down. As he tucked Seungjae in he heard the door creak again. Jungkook left a small kiss on Seungjae's forehead, a small i love you ghosting his lips, before he turns around to meet his husband's awaiting eyes. Jimin was leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed, a tired smile decorated his face. Jungkook sighed fondly before he walked towards his husband. Jimin straighten up, opening his arms, welcoming Jungkook in a warm hug.
Most of the times when Jungkook got home Jimin was always asleep. His light sleeper of a husband usually woke up when Jungkook slipped into bed and spooned him, giving Jeongguk a small kiss before he fell asleep once again. But Jungkook's glad the door hinge of Seungjae's room was in need of an oiling because the creaking sound must've woken Jimin up.
Jungkook melted into the hug, he buried his head in Jimin's neck, breathing in his husband's citrus smell. Jungkook's hands were on the small of Jimin's back, whilst Jimin's were wrapped around his shoulders. Jungkook sighed as Jimin pulled away, the hands moved from his shoulders to take a hold of Jungkook's tired face. Jungkook closed his eyes as he leaned into the palm of Jimin's hand, he opened them slowly to take a look at his husband's tired and sleepy features. Jungkook giggled when he saw Jimin stifling a yawn. Jimin pulled his face near as he gave Jungkook's forehead a small kiss before he bumped their foreheads.
Jungkook gave Jimin a small chaste kiss before he whispered, "Now, let's get you to bed old man." He giggled when Jimin let out an offended scoff before slapping Jeongguk's chest.
"Excuse you? I am barely thirty Jeon Jungkook." Jungkook shrugged before pulling his husband towards their bedroom, fatigue finally overlapping his body.
"I stand by me point." Jungkook felt Jimin pinched his biceps before he laughed.
They reached the bedroom quickly, Jungkook went to the closet and changed into an oversized shirt before he laid down next to Jimin already on the bed, wrapping his arms around his husband's small but muscular frame, one of his arm was now a pillow for Jimin. His husband untangled their legs before he turned around in Jungkook's arms so that they were facing each other. Jimin wrapped his own arms around Jungkook's waist, he looked up to see Jungkook's already smiling face. Jimin pressed a kiss against Jungkook's lips. They were both smiling into the kiss. When they pulled away, Jungkook left a small kiss on Jimin's nose before pulling him closer until Jimin's face was pressed up against Jungkook's chest. Jungkook felt Jimin leave a kiss on Jeongguk's t-shirt clad chest. He smiled in to Jimin's hair, giving his head one last kiss before he said goodnight.
Jimin pulled Jungkook closer before saying his goodnights as well.
Jungkook's glad at stressful times like this he had his loving husband and adorable son to come home to.
