Work Text:
Jimin had been working at spotlight for nearly two years and he'd had his fair share of strange and difficult customers. But nothing seemed to prepare him for this particular customer.
It was 20 minutes until closing and Seokjin had come to Jimin, who was at the front desk, to ask him to go down and fix/close the linen section, specifically the two display beds that some kids were playing in earlier that afternoon. "I'll close up the front." Seokjin had said as he scooted in behind the counter with a smile. Jimin figured it had something to do with the tall loitering blond who had a box of heavy duty wineglass', ready to purchase.
Poking Seokjin in the side knowingly, Jimin left the front counter and headed for the linen section. The place was a mess, most of throw cushions were piled up on one of the display beds along with all the blankets and pillows from the other. How all those pillows and blankets fit on the small display bed, Jimin will never know.
With a sigh, Jimin started pulling the throw cushions off the bed and tossing them into the large basket they belonged in. He was pulling off the duvet from the other bed off the mass pile when he uncovered something that made him jump back in surprise and let out a unmanly squeak. Oh god, is that a dead body?! What do I do?! How did it get in here!? Endless thoughts raced through the poor teenagers head but all promptly left when the 'dead body' let out a groan and rolled over to bury itself into the blankets.
Okay, now Jimin wasn't so traumatized, and now that he could get a closer look at the sleeping boy he realized it was the same one who had been playing with the children earlier that afternoon. "How long have you been buried in there?" Jimin muttered as he pulled away the duvet fully and tossed it towards the other display bed before gently shaking the sleeping brunette boy. "Hey, I'm sorry but we're closing now, and you aren't really allowed to sleep in these beds anyway." He tacked on lamely.
The occupant of the bed stirred awake slowly and stared at Jimin for the longest moment. "You're not my mum." He said sleepily, his voice horse and Jimin would be lying if he said it didn't send chills down his spine. "And this isn't my bed, why am I here?"
"You know, I was about to ask the same thing." Jimin pursed his lips and nodded as the stranger looked around, very confusedly.
"Hang on, I'm still at spotlight? Oh gosh what's the time? Where's Seokjin?" The boy looked only slightly panicked as he toppled ungracefully out of the display bed, Jimin catching him before he head butted the floor.
"It's not quarter to nine and Seokjin's flirting with some guy up the front, why?" Jimin blinked at the boy who sat down on the bed again.
"Okay, that's all good, I'll wait and go home with him." He smiled an oddly rectangular smile and the gears and cogs turned in Jimin's head for a long moment.
"Oh my god." He finally said. "You're Seokjin's younger brother aren't you?"
"Yep, the name's Taehyung." Taehyung introduced with a dramatic sweeping bow, tipping his imaginary fancy hat.
"Jimin." The employee returned, his eyes drifting over Taehyung's disheveled, sleepy form. "And since you're here you can help me pack up this mess." He gestured to the pile on the display bed. "After all you did help make it."
