Corruption is such a powerful ability. If it is not nullified in time, the user will die definitely.
Of course, Chuuya knows it very well.
However, he does not know that his ability is slowly destroying his body.
At first, he got nosebleed. He thought it was because of the tiredness from the recent mission. Days by days, his health became worsen.Unfortunately, when he figures out, it is too late.
He trusts Dazai.That's why he uses it without doubt.He never thinks that he has to pay the consequence.He collapsed.

After being nullified, he should've been alright. Instead, he vomits too much blood. Everything is hurt. He cannot bear it anymore. And then he is unconscious.
Dazai rush over him when seeing Chuuya falling. Try as much as he can, Chuuya does not wake up, even he threatens to burn his favourite hat.
No choice left, Dazai brings Chuuya to the hospital.
"His organs is destroyed. The cause is overuse Corruption."- the doctor, Yosano Akihiko says to Dazai.
"Is there any chance to save him, Yosano-san".
"I wish I could. This beyond my ability. I'm sorry, Dazai. Nakahara has few time left.
His world is shattered.
He should have been angry and demand that doctor not to tell him a joke. Yet, Chuuya accept it, accept his fate.
As if he knows it for long time.
It is his fault. If he is not arrogant, Chuuya won't have to use Corruption and this never happens.
Chuuya is not gonna out of his reach.

"Idiot. As if." He thought but those words left unsaid.
Actually, Chuuya never hates Dazai. It is just an act. In fact, he likes the brunette but does not dare to confess.
Doesn't Dazai hate him? He wonders why Dazai has to take care of him? Is it his pity?
It's fine, though
As long as that person is here, he is fine whether it is just from his pity or guilty.

Chuuya looks Dazai for the last time. "If we meet in other circumstance, will you return my feeling?"
Chuuya smiles and closes his eyes forever.
