Chapter Text

Apollo’s not sure when he comes to realize that he doesn't understand girls. It’s probably sometime in junior high, or perhaps high school, but he knows it really comes to light when he meets Juniper.

Oh, sure, Trucy and Athena imply that she has a crush on him, but he doesn't seem to see it. She’s just Juniper, and that’s how she normally is, right? Trucy laughs at him when he asks her that question.

“Are you blind, Polly?” is all she says before walking away.

If he was, then this would all make sense. Maybe he’s just not looking clear enough, maybe if he tried a little harder his bracelet would react and then –

“That’s no way to approach a girl, let alone Junie!” Athena said, “You’ll scare her.”

“But that didn’t happen when I used my bracelet on her before.”

Athena sighed, “There’s a difference between using your bracelet on her for a court case and using your bracelet on her for her feelings. Even if you don’t scare her, that’s… still creepy.”

Apollo sighed.

“Wait, does that mean you like her back?!” Athena was practically galloping around the room because she was so excited. This is such good news! Mainly for Juniper, but there's no reason not to be so happy for your friend when the guy of their dreams -

“I don’t even see how you say she has a crush on me."

And so enters Apollo's low self-worth (or something like that, Athena makes a note to herself that she'll have to diagnose him in a more psychological way later), and with a sad glance, Athena looks down at him from where she's standing.

With a loud, hard sigh, she shakes her head. "I think you're just an idiot."

But he says nothing and Athena smacks her forehead.

Since when was this so difficult?
