Work Text:
Not a lot of things in Izuku’s life could be counted as normal anymore.
In his standards anyway.
In his standards a normal morning would mean a fulfilling breakfast before heading out for the day.
In his standards a normal lunchtime would mean heading to Lunch Rush’s cafeteria and eat with his friends.
In his standards a normal weekend would mean catching up on any hero news or training himself, with an occasion of updating his Hero Analysis notebook.
In his standards a normal show of an affection would be a hug, or a-a kiss.
But of course those are too much normal in his life, so one of them would not be like the others.
Life made sure to point that out in the form of Kacchan.
Kacchan has.. different standards than him. Or most people. One of em being how he shows affection.
Other people kiss you, Kacchan bites.
At first it freaked Izuku out, but after a while… Yeah, no it still freaked him out a bit.
“Kacchan!” Izuku greeted that morning, catching up to the other boy at the hallway. “Good morning!”
“Deku,” Kacchan greeted back, in that sorta low rumble he always does. Izuku grinned at him. It was always nice whenever Kacchan wasn’t being all cranky and explosive and acted like a normal, chill person for a change, which was rare, cause a lot of things seem to annoy Kacchan.
Kacchan stared at him, before stepping closer and leaning in to him.
And bit his cheek.
....
....
Huh?
Izuku was still reeling in on what just happened when Kacchan continued his trek to class like nothing happened.
Did Kacchan just… bit him??
He immediately tensed and quickly looked around the hallway, sighing when he saw that no one was around to see what happened. It was still pretty early, the only other person except for him and Kacchan who’d be in class already would be Iida. He was suddenly thankful they were in the hallway when it happened.
And just like that, Izuku’s life changed forever.
Kacchan wasn’t an affectionate sort of guy in the first place, not in public anyway. But apparently as time goes, he had no qualms on showing his particular way of affection on Izuku.
At first it only happened conveniently when not a lot of people was around, which was good, because he wasn’t really sure what to explain to people if they saw.
Then it escalated from there.
They were at the library, most of his classmates cramming for the nearby tests while some were there to teach. Kacchan fell in the latter category.
“How do you not get it? It’s so fucking simple,” Kacchan said with a sour expression, pointing at the notebook. “It’s not fucking rocket science.”
“Man, easy for you to say!” Kaminari exclaimed, scratching his head. “Not everyone is gifted with that thick head of yours!” He continued, before looking like he regretted every life choices he had.
“The fuck did you just say?!” The teen growled, hands at the ready and looking like shit will go down in a few seconds. Izuku decided it was time to intervene.
“Uh, K-Kacchan, did I do this right?” He asked, and shoved his notebook in front of the other teen, who looked from murderous to greatly annoyed as he read Izuku’s work.
Kacchan was silent, before huffing. “Guess it’s good enough for a Deku, even if I had to repeat it to you hundreds of fucking time.”
Izuku smiled in relieve, right now just glad that crisis was averted. “Thanks, Kacchan.” He was about to go back to hunching over his book, when Kacchan leaned in and bit his cheek again.
The silence that filled the library felt very out of place for some reason.
Kacchan turned around and began tearing Kirishima a new one because “For fuck’s sakes, I told you not to do that!” but all eyes were on Izuku.
Izuku wanted the floor to swallow him up and die.
“Deku-kun, what was that??” Of course, it’ll be Uraraka who would approach him first about The Library IncidentTM. Iida looked mildly concerned besides her. “It was a very unusual behavior, even for Bakugou, not to mention a bit unsanitary.”
“Guys, it’s alright,” Izuku answered, looking sheepish. “It’s just Kacchan’s way of.. showing affection. I think??” He wasn’t really sure himself.
“That’s showing affection??” Both Uraraka and Iida looked appalled. “I’m not that surprised, seeing how violent Bakugou-kun is, but..”
“Can we maybe not talk about it right now?” Izuku mumbled, face turning a bit red. “I kinda just want to forget it happened and that you guys actually saw it…”
Uraraka placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. “We’re sorry Deku-kun,” Iida sighed, before patting his back as well. “We just wanted to make sense on what happened back then. We already thought you and Bakugou made an unusual pair, but this kind of revelation was completely new.”
Izuku buried his face in his arms and never wanted to get out.
Kacchan was none the wiser of his current predicament.
Kacchan would bite him any time he deemed right, which was sometimes having other people as a witness to it. He bit Izuku when they were at an exercise course once, and Aizawa-sensei looked like he didn't care enough to comment on it.
Not to say he didn’t do it in private either. Whenever they were alone in each others rooms Kacchan didn’t really let up on the biting. When Izuku was reading on his bed, Kacchan would bite his shoulder, or arm, or anywhere else he can sink his teeth on to. Izuku thought Kacchan was like some dog begging for attention.
For some reason his favourite place to bite was Izuku’s cheek.
“Midoriya,” Todoroki started once Kacchan bit (bit) him farewell at the end of the class and made his way out. “Do I want to ask?”
“Not really..” Izuku answered, slouching on himself and ready to shrivel up.
“I know you and Bakugou have a peculiar relationship, but I didn’t think…”
Izuku covered his face with his hands and groaned loudly.
It was a nice lazy day and Izuku decided to spend it at Kacchan’s room. He was laying down on his stomach on Kacchan’s bed, playing with his phone, while Kacchan was on the floor, leaning on the bed and doing some reading.
It was at that time that Izuku managed to muster up enough courage to ask.
“Hey, Kacchan?”
The other teen grunted, not taking his eyes off his book.
“Uh, I know this is a weird thing to ask and all, but it’s been sort of bothering me for a while now, but I didn’t really know how to bring it up and… So, um—“
“Just come out and say it, stupid Deku.” Kacchan had turned around and had his arm on the bed, red eyes glaring at him.
“W-why do you like biting me so much?”
Kacchan answered by giving him a blank sort of look, and Izuku felt the back of his neck sweat. It was a weird look on the usually explosive teen…. To be honest, any expression on Kacchan’s face when it wasn’t murderous looked out of place on him.
Kacchan suddenly stood up, and he instinctively tensed.
“Ka-Kacchan??”
Kacchan didn’t say a word when he climbed up the bed, and when Izuku tried to turn around, Kacchan’s hand on his back held him down. Izuku felt his gut twist, and he squirmed slightly.
“U-um, wha—“
Kacchan didn’t let him finish his words when he bit on to Izuku’s nape, and Izuku’s brain short-circuited.
He let out a tiny yelp when Kacchan’s bite turned rougher than usual, and slowly made its way to the side of his neck. W-what was he doing? Was he trying to distract Izuku so he won’t ask anymore??
“Wa-wait, Kacchan, ah, you’ll leave a—“ He cut himself of with a gasp when Kacchan bit the junction between his neck and shoulder, before going back up to maul at the side of his neck. Izuku squirmed, he can’t think straight like this! Not when Kacchan was—
“Ah!” Kacchan decided to nibble on his earlobe, and it was really, really distracting. That bastard was playing dirty, he knew Izuku was sensitive there!
When he was satisfied with his work, Kacchan turned him around. Izuku was sure his face looked like a ripe tomato right now, but he’s sort of not conscious enough to care. “Deku,” Kacchan said lowly, before leaning back down to mark any unblemished surface Izuku had to offer.
Needless to say Izuku felt like he was being eaten alive that day.
When Kacchan finally had his fill and Izuku feeling sore on all sort of places, they laid down on the bed with Izuku’s face buried in Kacchan’s shoulder.
He was drifting off to sleep when he heard Kacchan speak.
“Huh? Did you say something Kacchan?”
Kacchan grumbled, probably annoyed he had to repeat himself. “I said, I sometimes get these fucking urges whenever I see your stupid face and I can’t goddamn control it so I just let it happen.” He said in one breath.
Izuku blinked. “You get urges to.. bite me?”
“Yeah you fuck face, do I need to make myself clearer?”
This was not what Izuku expected. What does Kacchan think he is, some sort of animal?
“You know Kacchan.. normal people would kiss when they see someone they like.”
The hot flush that covered Kacchan’s face spread so fast Izuku couldn’t help but wonder if he popped some blood vessels. “Of course I fucking know that! Why else do you think I did what I did?!”
Izuku just kind of.. stared dumbly at the fuming teen. That.. that didn’t help at all! That still doesn’t answer anything!
He opened his mouth to say just that, before something clicked on his mind. Kacchan had urges to bite him, but he said the reason he did that was because normally people get urges to kiss people they like, so..
“I will fucking kill you if you don’t stop thinking,” Kacchan threatened.
That threat did nothing to Izuku, who was smiling widely at the other teen. Kacchan growled, before leaning down to wipe that smile off himself.
Kacchan still bites him, but would eventually get around to actually act like a normal person would when they show affection. Until then, Izuku just had to man up and endure it.
