"Call me, baby."

Summary:

in which his best friend drags him to a concert.

Work Text:

This was not his scene, well not entirely. The arena he’s standing in is packed and it’s a different feel. He’s used to being on the stage performing and not waiting amongst fans waiting for someone to have a concert for the next two hours. It wasn’t his choice though. Namjoon had bought tickets to see some American singer that’s performing in Korea for the first time in her life, or so Namjoon rambled.

Surprisingly enough, the leader had managed to get seats that were pretty close to the stage. He doesn’t know whether or not he’ll enjoy this concert but it made his group member happy. It’s a break from everything they are used to. The anticipation for the concert to start whilst more fans crowd into the area is somewhat refreshing. The both of them have already watched the opening act perform and they were pretty good, though he couldn’t understand a bit of what they were singing.

“What time does she start?”

“In thirty minutes, I think.”

Yoongi just nods, wanting this concert to start already. He already notices a few people recognizing them as the area continues to fill and he can’t remember the area being able to hold this many people. It’s kind of overwhelming. For some reason, he’s already thinking about the traffic they’ll have to go through to get back to the dorms. It was bad when they came, the two barely managed to get here on time.

In the dressing room backstage, you’re doing vocal warm ups while trying to get rid of the nerves building in your stomach. The stylist continues to apply your makeup while someone from the stage crew puts on your mic pack. “Twenty minutes until countdown.”

“Are you ready?” Your manager walks over towards you as you slip on the mesh shirt over the crop top. You stare at your reflection and you honestly think you look good. If there was a word to describe how you look, it would be fierce. It’s different from how you usually look when having a concert but you wanted to change your look and your manager was more than happy to agree.

“Of course.”

This is your biggest show yet and you're both excited and nervous. It's not easy having the pressure of fame on your back. You're one of America’s biggest singers, always having people wait for you to make a mistake so they can make it into unnecessary drama. But this is your dream, to get on stage and make people feel happy. To make people feel like they belong somewhere and you feel that your fandom really feels like that.

“We'll start escorting you under stage now,”

The stage crew whisks you away, the nerves intensifying. You can hear the intro of your concert starting as you get into position beneath the stage. “You practiced this earlier, but you should still be careful.” You nod your head at your manager’s words, barely hearing him over rolling your shoulders back as you move onto the platform, squatting. “Sing into your mic please.”

Someone requests quickly, barely managing to hear them as your fans start to scream. That's when you know the lights are set up and the countdown has begun. You sing a random lyric making the person nod.

“You'll do great out there,”

You grin at your manager, the platform slowly rising. You're careful to stay in the center and not to stand up too soon. A big sigh leaves your lips as you raise the mic to your lipstick covered lips.

Yoongi wants to take a picture because of how excited expression on Namjoon’s face. It's different from how the leader usually looks. He looks like a normal person who's about to have one of the best experiences in his life.

No one cares that they are Rap Monster and Suga from BTS. They know people here have recognized them and Yoongi expected them to ask for pictures or something, but they didn't. If anything, a few of them struck up a simple conversation with them...well Namjoon. Yoongi felt normal. He's just a someone that has been dragged by his best friend to see someone live. He knows he's not the only one.

The lights brighten on the stage, a countdown timer shows up on the screens, and the people around him lose it. They start chanting your name, “Y/N, Y/N!” Or they are just plain out screaming. Yoongi decides that he just better make the most of this night and he honestly can't wait to see what has his best friend so excited.

It's burning up.”

Yoongi jumps when the fire is shot up from the stage as the familiar tune of his song being played. Dancers fill the stage, mainly around the center. Fans go crazy when you proceed with the song and Yoongi can't help but be a bit shocked.

You look stunning on the stage as you somehow manage to pull off Hoseok's rap and do the dance moves so perfectly. You have a look on your face, screaming that you own the stage that you're on. He didn’t think the screams couldn’t get any louder.

“She's doing our song! This wasn't on the set list!” Namjoon shouts over the loud music so Yoongi can hear him. A clear look of shock and disbelief written on the man’s face but soon he’s smiling his dimpled smile.

“She's doing really good!”

The eldest of the two shouts back, not really caring if his friend can hear him or not. Yoongi watches as you dance effortlessly on the stage, a smirk on your face. He can't help wonder if you know that he and his group member are in the crowd watching you tonight. Your fans seem to be enjoying it but what they don't know is how pressured you feel to be performing this song.

Despite your hectic schedule over the past month or so, you've managed to practice for this song. It's something your manager didn't even believe you could pull off, but there you are, rocking the stage. The beat starts to change and he guesses it’s switching into your song. The fire stops and the lights change along with the choreography.

Yoongi enjoyed the concert, to say the least. Both him and Namjoon were surprised that you Korean on the stage when it came time for you to talk to your fans.

Yoongi is having a hard time walking with his best friend right now because of how fast he is walking. Apparently, he failed to mention the fact that he bought meet and greet tickets as well. Although he enjoyed the concert, he just feels tired and he doesn't want to seem rude while standing next to Namjoon whilst he talks to you.

“It was really nice to meet you, thank you for supporting me.” You spoke sincerely to another one of your fans before they are escorted to leave by security. This is a part that you love while being famous. Meeting the people that helped get you to where you're at today.

“That's the last of them.”

You nod while pulling out your phone, you're ready to tweet about how nice it was to perform here tonight and all of that. It's been an hour after the concert had finished. You were able to get a short break before meeting some of your fans. You just wish you could meet all of them but the greet tickets are limited to almost fifty.

You wish there to be more tickets, but unfortunately, that cannot happen for this tour. “I told you we should have made a right, that's what the guard said.” A voice bickers as the door to the meet and greet opens. It's better than your dressing room since it's always busy around there with people packing everything up.

“I thought you said there weren't anymore?”

You tease your manager as you look up from your phone, but your hand just clutches the phone. Standing right in front of you are two people that you practically look up to, though your difference in age isn’t much. You stand there confused, wondering if this is a joke or not. It’s impossible for either of them to even like your music. Or so you thought.

“Hi, I hope we’re not too late.”

Namjoon spoke, a hint of embarrassment laced in his voice. You had expected him to speak in Korean but he chose to talk to you in English, not that you mind at all. A dimpled smile forms on his face one you shake your head no. You’re more shocked if anything. It takes your manager nudging your arm for you to snap out of it. “I’m glad the both of you were able to make it.”

You decide on treating them like normal fans, maybe it’ll feel nice for someone to treat them a bit normally. “I’m Namjoon and this is Yoongi,” He introduces himself right as your manager leans over and whispers something in your ear, something that made you blush. He mentions that he’ll be back soon before slipping out of the room.

“It’s nice to meet you both.”

“I know you’re probably tired so I guess we’ll make this quick. Can I get a photo with you?”

Yoongi watches as you frown once the words leave Namjoon’s mouth. Maybe it’s the way he said it. He doesn’t know. “Oh yeah, of course. I’m not that tired anyway.”

Yoongi takes Namjoon’s phone to take the photo of the both of you together but he can’t help the bit of jealousy he fills in the pit of his stomach as his group member wraps his arm loosely around your waist. He shrugs off the feeling as he snaps the photo. Namjoon gestures for him to move to take one with you.

Somehow, the three of you fall into easy conversation. You once again shock the two boys when you converse with them in Korean. They asked you how you know Korean and you told them it’s something you taught yourself when you were younger. Unfortunately, the conversation had to end because you need to change and head to your hotel to rest. Also because your manager came back to take you to your dressing room.

“It was amazing to talk with you both.”

Namjoon had noticed whilst the three of you were talking, how flirtatious both you and Yoongi were. It was shocking, to say the least, but at least his member is talking more than he is for a change. When you three exchanged goodbyes you also shared your phone numbers. It’s not something either of the three of you would do but you guys just got along so well.

You hugged Namjoon before Yoongi. When you hugged the older male, you whispered something that made him blush a bit before slipping out the room with a sly look on your face.  Not too long after they were escorted out the room. Namjoon waited until they were outside before he started to question his best friend.

“What has you so flustered?”

Yoongi just ignore him as they make their way to the car, the words you whispered in his ear making him feel like a schoolgirl with a crush. When they get into the car, he continues to ignore Namjoon. Maybe he’ll tell him what you said, maybe not.

Call me, baby.”
