Work Text:

Seokjin's arms are wrapped tight around Yoongi's middle. Yoongi's head lies on Seokjin's chest as they spin carefully.

The elder isn't usually the best dancer, but Yoongi honestly isn't much better either.

Still, this is their wedding reception after all so dancing is pretty mandatory.

Yoongi hadn't thought that many people would be able to make it. He and Seokjin had slaved away, working odd jobs and struggling with bills for awhile until they were able to come up with the money to move to America and then, they had to wait a few more years just to get their papers.

It isn't that Yoongi or Seokjin had a strong desire to immerse themselves in Western culture. They wanted to get married and make a living in a place where they actually stood a chance.

So they eventually migrated to the US and managed to land stable jobs, building up their new lives here gradually. Through work and other places, they'd met fellow native Asians who'd moved here and quickly became friends, depending on one another when things got rough.

Jimin and Hoseok look on the edge of their seats, the two madly in love dancers just itching to hit the dance floor. Yoongi smirks each time he passes by them, their expressions growing devastated with each twirl Seokjin and Yoongi take. Namjoon smiles at them, his dimples on full display while his own lovers chatter beside him, arguing over another anime probably. Yoongi doesn't really know how Namjoon puts up with both Taehyung and Jeongguk, but he somehow manages it and that's all Yoongi really needs to worry about.

Apart from their friends, Yoongi can only distinguish a few other faces. Jackson, Jinyoung, and Mark whisper behind their hands as they watch Seokjin and Yoongi dance. Jeonghan hangs off Jisoo's neck with Seungcheol eyeing them warily, his arms crossed as his boyfriends ignore him. Jaebum stands beside Youngjae by the drinks table, their elbows brushing. Yoongi thinks he can even hear Myungjun's outrageous laugh as Jinwoo cracks a bad joke somewhere. There are more of their friends present, but the people who Yoongi wishes had shown up the most are missing.

The table that had been reserved for their parents and family is instead taken by their closest friends. And maybe that's better than their parents. Their new family supporting them instead of their old, distant ones. Yoongi smiles as he and Seokjin continue to dance, the weight of the new ring on Yoongi's finger feeling more obvious by the second.

Seokjin hums in his ear, a hand raising to burrow into Yoongi's hair holding the smaller man even closer to his chest. Yoongi laughs into Seokjin's collarbone, his arms squeezing his newly declared husband's torso to silently tell Seokjin to loosen his grip. Seokjin does, but it's with a pout that Yoongi kisses away immediately.

Yoongi gazes into his husband's eyes, thinking about all they've gone through to get to this point. They've been through so much together, so many firsts, a few fights here and there and learned the true meaning of loyalty when they stuck by each other's sides, even through the difficult times in their lives. They've struggled together and they've grown together and Yoongi really doesn't know who he'd be if he wasn't with Seokjin.

It's not that Yoongi feels complete with Seokjin, it's that he feels stronger, as if the person he is has somehow doubled. They aren't two halves.

They're two wholes.

"Hey." Seokjin's voice is low and soft, music to Yoongi's ears.

Yoongi smiles at him, his gummy smile taking up most of his face as he hums a response.

"I love you."

"And I love you."

Seokjin smiles at him, leaning down to kiss Yoongi.

When their lips meet, Yoongi forgets about everything else. He focuses only on the important details: being married to Seokjin, loving Seokjin, kissing Seokjin, wearing an identical ring to match Seokjin's, dancing with Seokjin in the middle of their wedding reception.

Yoongi really loves Seokjin.
