Jeon Jungkook, a university student, got out of university in the evening. So, he would take the bus back home to his apartment every evening. Making it to the bus stop to wait he would usually come across another boy, probably in university such as himself. The other man did look quite handsome to Jungkook, but the older boy wasn’t too hard to miss. The boy had fluffy, messily styled, orange hair, unlike Jungkook's own brown hair that Jungkook always thought lacked some shininess or fluffiness, so he would usually wear his hair with a beanie on. If Jungkook wasn't as socially awkward and introverted he may have even spoken to the other boy who waited for the bus with him, but Jungkook continues to put in his wireless headphones, being covered by his beanie.
Kim Taehyung, also a university student, also got out of school in the evening, and also took the evening bus home. Him and the brown-haired boy seemed to have a theme. They'd meet one another at the evening bus station, Taehyung would smile his signature box-like smile, and the other boy would smile slightly back, maybe a wave or two. Now, Taehyung usually wasn't very interested in too many people. He had his group of friends, he was generally social with everyone, but he usually didn’t let others get farther than acquaintances with him, other than his small group of friends. Because of his friendly attitude many became interested in him. But it seems that at the moment, Taehyung was completely whipped for the mysterious boy (His friends often teasing him during his love-struck descriptions of other-evening-bus-rider). And since the mysterious boy has never spoken to Taehyung when Taehyung initiated- tried to initiate- conversation, going as far as out right ignoring Taehyung, well, Taehyung assumed the mysteriously handsome boy couldn't hear him, at all, as in he was deaf.
The same as every other day, Taehyung and Jungkook were at the bus station in the evening, Jungkook listening to his music from his headphones, once again covered by his beanie. Taehyung on the other hand had his hands clasped behind his back, thinking on how to approach the other boy. He took a deep breath and gently tapped Jungkook on the shoulder.
Jungkook, to say the least, was surprised when the orange haired boy tapped him on the shoulder. The older looking boy started to move his hands, realizing he was signing Jungkook quickly removed the headphones from under his beanie.
"I'm sorry... I don't know sign-" the older boy's face goes red.
"Oh my god I'm so sorry! You see I thought you were deaf as when I tried to speak to you, you just ignored me! So, I learned some simple sign language to try and talk to you. But now I know with that beanie I didn't realize you were just wearing wireless headphones!' he laughs to himself as his face continues to get redder, "I'm so sorry this is probably so embarrassing."
Jungkook blushes ever so slightly, "I didn't think someone would try and learn a new language just for me..." he trails off, looking anywhere but the boy now smiling his signature boxy smile.
"Well, I'm Kim Taehyung, and you are?" Jungkook smiles up at Taehyung, "Jeon Jungkook."
"Great! so Jungkook, want to go on a date with me? To pay back for this awkward experience?"
Jungkook nods softly, and there they went on their first date.
It didn't take too long for the two of them to start dating, turns out they went to the same university, Taehyung being one year ahead of Jungkook, which explains why they only saw one another at the bus station. Jungkook fit in greatly with Taehyung's small group of friends, but whenever someone brings up how Taehyung and Jungkook's met, how they initiated the first date, or anything about sign language, Taehyung's face still goes bright red.
