Chapter Text
"Come on, we're going to lunch."
It takes a moment for the words to register in Hoseok's sleep-deprived brain, blinking and turning a second late to see Jimin standing there, one hand on his backpack strap and an eyebrow raised.
"Jimin?"
"Yes, it's me, your incredible boyfriend here to take you to get lunch."
Hoseok's mouth thins out and he spares a glance at his watch. It's 11:36, and his meeting isn't until 12:15, yet....
"Jiminnie, not today baby. It's Monday."
Monday is a word they've both come to associate with only the most brutal of things, a word that the mere mention of has Hoseok's eyes drooping and Jimin's teeth clenching. Mondays are the days Hoseok is up from 6am to 1am, with barely a moment to eat, pause, /breathe/. It's the day where Hoseok forgoes food in favor of not having to run, where he's on edge and spread so thin he can barely comprehend up from down, the day that has him trembling and near tears by 4pm when he still has several hours to go.
Jimin hates Mondays.
He hates how much they stress Hoseok out. He hates that he can’t convince Hoseok it's not worth it and is instead forced to watch his boyfriend deteriorate right in front of him. They're both busy humans— so busy that some days the most they get to see each other is when they pass by each other on the way to class. But Mondays are a particular beast that goes beyond what should be allowed for any one human to take, in Jimin's opinion.
Especially when said human is Hoseok, and he's prone to putting self-care last on his list of priorities. By now, Jimin knows he has to just let it happen, and be there for Hoseok at the end of the night. Showing up at his class like this- It's not something he does every week, but Jimin knows Hoseok hasn't eaten yet, and if he doesn't go now he won't until at least 11 at night. So here he is, ambushing Hoseok outside of Bio 1010 with a proposition and steel determination.
"I know." Jimin says, adjusting the strap. "Which is why we're going to get food."
"I have a meeting in-"
“30 minutes, plenty of time to sit down and eat a burger.”
“Jiminnie, please, I don't have-”
"You have time, Hobi." Jimin's voice softens a touch, hand reaching out to knead at Hoseok's tense shoulders. It's not even noon, but Hoseok looks so worn out already; Jimin's heart aches at the sight. Hoseok is worrying at his bottom lip, shifting from foot to foot. He takes another glance at his watch, brows crinkling, and Jimin knows he's won.
"Okay." It's resigned, but the small perk of his shoulders tells Jimin he's done right by showing up. He throws on a smile- a weak one, but a smile nevertheless- and swings an arm around Jimin's shoulders. "Let's go get lunch." A pause. “As long as you're paying.”
Jimin screeches. “You only love me for my money.” Hoseok snickers, and Jimin jumps when he feels fingers brush across his ass. “Come on baby, you know I love you for more than that.”
Jimin shoves him, breathy chuckles filling the hallway. “Let's just go get lunch, you pervert:”
Hoseok’s hand shifts so it's on jimin’s hip instead, using the new position to tuck his chin into Jimin's neck. “Thank you Jiminnie.”
Jimin brushes his fingers through Hoseok’s messy hair, working through the tangles easily.
“Anytime baby.”
