Work Text:

After what seemed like hours, the bell had finally rung. You collected your things and bolted down the hallway, eager to go home and relax from all the stress of the schoolwork. You paused in the hall when you heard someone calling out your name, turning your head to find out who was trying to get your attention. You smiled once you noticed it was Josuke- who was pushing his way through the conglomerate of students, waving at you. He stuck out like a sore thumb, Josuke was just so tall.

"Hey! You heading straight home, jacket thief?" He asked you, wrapping an arm around your shoulder. You leaned into his embrace. At lunch, you had stolen his jacket and refused to give it back. Josuke eventually gave up and let you wear it for the rest of the day.

"Mm, yeah. Too exhausted to do anything besides fuse with my bed."

Josuke nodded. "I understand, haha. Want to walk home with me?"

"Of course, dear." You reached up and kissed him on his cheek. Josuke blushed and rubbed the back of his neck nervously. He had that dumb, shy grin of his that you loved.

"Aww, babe! People are watching..." He chuckled nervously.

You rolled your eyes at him and continued to make your way throughout the halls to leave the Hell on Earth that is called 'school.'

Josuke had stopped to say goodbye to Okuyasu and Koichi, the former a little bit more upset than the latter about him walking home with you rather than with them, as he usually did. Josuke promised he'd walk home with them tomorrow, though.
The sky grew overcast, you were concerned about the possibility of rain, because you didn't have a coat, save for Josuke's jacket, or umbrella because the forecast didn't call for rain today. You weren't even off of school premises yet, maybe a couple of yards away from the gate. A deep, low rumble sounded throughout Morioh. A second, louder one boomed. The clouds growing darker by the minute, you looked at Josuke who looked nervous.

Ah, that's right. His hair.

"Don't worry, JoJo. Your hair will be fine." You told him, holding back a smile. "I don't want to get caught in a storm, though... We should pick up the pace."

Your boyfriend nodded in agreement, starting to power walk. You, however, were left behind.

Curse his long legs.

"Wait up, Josuke!" You sprinted over to him and struggled to keep up with his speed.

He paused and looked at you. "Sorry babe, I just don't want my hair to get messed up."

"Its fine. I-" You were cut off at a loud, thunderous crack above your heads that scared the hell out of you. You clung on tight onto Josuke, who held you close.

"It's okay! Just thunder." He looked at you with soft eyes.

You felt a droplet of water fall down your shirt, and you instinctively went to rub where it fell. Looking up at the sky, it was raining, gradually picking up by the minute. Wind started to blow aggressively.

"We should go." Josuke grabbed your hand and pulled you along as he ran down the sidewalk.

The rain showed no mercy. It bore down aggressively, and the wind was threatening to blow over trees. By the time you had both reached the point where you usually go separate ways, Josuke urged you to come home with him and that it wasn't safe for you to go alone. You didn't protest at all and followed Josuke to his house.
Opening the door, Josuke took off his shoes and called out for his mom.

"Mom, I'm home!"

"I'm glad you're safe Jo-" She didn't say anything once she saw you standing next to Josuke, both of you drenched head to toe.

"Mom, is it okay if they stay here with us until the storm passes? It wouldn't be safe for them to go home in this." Josuke explained, motioning to you.

"Well... Call your parents, and I'll let you stay. Hand me your clothes and I'll clean and dry them for you."

"Yeah! I've got some pajamas you can wear, too. They may be a bit big though." Josuke offered.

"Thank you, Ms. Higashikata. Where's your phone?" You asked.

"Go into the living room and its on a table by the couch." Tomoko told you.

After you had called your parents and explained the situation, Josuke gave you some of his clothes and you fled to the bathroom to put them on. They were way too big for you, but you didn't care at all. The clothes were soft and comfortable, you felt safe in them. You grabbed your soaked clothes and handed them to Tomoko who was waiting outside of the bathroom.

"Thank you again, how can I repay you?"

"Just treat my Josuke good, that's all I ask." Tomoko smiled. She turned and walked away to the laundry room.

You walked up the stairs (which you had to avoid slipping and falling on due to the pant legs that came over your feet) and into Josuke's room, he was sitting on his bed reading manga. Looking up at you, he smiled and walked over to you.

"You're so cute in my clothes! You should wear them more often." He hugged you and placed a gentle kiss to your forehead, then to your lips.

"Oh, stop it you." You playfully hit him with the sleeves of the shirt. "You're sweet."

Josuke went back to sit on his bed. As he was turned away, you sneaked a smell of the collar of the shirt. It smelled like his cologne that he wore, you could honestly drown in the sweet scent.
You sat in Josuke's lap, he wrapped his arms around your body and pulled you close to him, burying his face into your neck. "I can't get over how adorable you look. You always look adorable, though."

You hummed in response, and kissed his temple. "And you're always a sweetheart who's too shy to give public affection." You giggled.

"Hey, I try!" He pouted.

"I know you do, sweetie." You intertwined your hands with his. "What were you reading?" You looked around for the manga he had set down.

"Just the latest manga from Rohan Kishibe, it's pretty good. You wanna read it with me? I don't mind if I have to start from the beginning again."

"Sure."

The two of you read manga while you both waited for the storm to relent, which it didn't seem like it would. The weather forecast said that it would probably last all night until early in the morning. Not that you minded, you were spending time with Josuke which was just as fun.
You lost track of time, and you didn't care. Time didn't exist when you were with Josuke, if it did, it slowed down. Every moment felt like an eternity, and you loved it. Josuke spooned you, his breath gentle on the back of your neck. He had his legs entangled with yours, and his free hand holding yours.

"I love you." He muttered, placing wet kisses along the nape of your neck. You writhed around and giggled.

"I-I love you too, Josuke, but that tickles!" You laughed.

"What, this tickles? Are you sure... this doesn't?" He freed his hand that was holding yours and began to run his fingers along your side.

You burst out into laughter as Josuke relentlessly tickled you all over your sides. "S-Stop! I can't breathe! I can't breathe!"

Josuke paused in his attack on you to let you catch your breath, and as soon as you did he resumed tickling you. As soon as he paused to let you catch your breath again, you lunged at him and grabbed at his sides.

"Revenge!" You exclaimed, running your hands up and down his body to find his weakness. Turns out he's ticklish all over.

"H-Hey! No fair!" Josuke laughed, trying to get you off of him. He may be physically bigger than you, but he's not stronger than you when he's weak from laughing so hard.

"Okay, okay, we're even." You said, stopping and allowing Josuke to sit up.

"Truce?"

"Truce."

He grabbed you and stole a kiss, before pressing his forehead against yours, both of your noses touching. "We should do this more often, yeah?"

You smiled. "Totally."

"Ready to head to bed?" Josuke asked.

Nodding, you got up and turned off the light as Josuke got the bed ready. You climbed into bed with him and lay on top of him, holding onto his shoulders and listening to his heartbeat.

"Goodnight, JoJo."

"G'night, babe."
