Work Text:
It was your first time back to the hideout in over a week and you were simply hunched up on the couch, slowly making your way through an old RPG you didn’t really care for. You had arrived early in the morning and you had barely moved from the couch except to dig around in the kitchen for food. Tomura had recommended the game you were playing or rather he had told you to play it. You figured that at worse it would be a good time-waster, and so agreed that you would give it a shot. While he made the suggestion a month ago, you had only gotten your hands on the game about a week ago since you had to order it online. Tomura wouldn’t let you borrow his copy.
Half paying attention to the game, you looked up from the screen to check the time on your phone. You had been playing the game for longer than you had thought. Luckily that was what your goal had been. This was the moment that you had been looking forward to for the past week.
You struggled to get up from the couch, having been moulded into its shape over the past few hours. You took a moment sitting upright trying to avoid having blood rush up to your head. Sitting up, you looked over at Tomura who was sitting in an armchair across the room from you. You didn’t know why he bothered to come sit out in the common room if he was just going to wear his mask. How he could see whatever game he was playing was beyond you.
With a sigh, you got onto your feet and made your way to the bar. Saving the game before turning the handheld off, you set it down onto the counter. While you had passed the time successfully, you were already beginning to regret wasting so much time. But that train of thought was lost when the door to the hideout swung open.
“(name)-chan!” the short blonde girl who had entered screeched at the top of her lungs. Toga swung her backpack onto the floor and ran towards you.
Of course the day you had been able to return to the hideout was the only day that week that Toga wasn’t around. Being a villain wasn’t your full time job and it only paid under the table when it did pay, so you had been dragged out of town by your legal, paying job. You weren’t truly even sure why you had been brought along on the staff development day since you were only part-time. You had a suspicion that you were filling some sort of diversity quota.
Toga wrapped her arms around you in a tight hug, squeezing you as tightly as she could. With her face pressed up against your chest, she looked up at you.
“(name)-chan! (name)-chan!” she repeated, as her grip on your tightened. In her excitement, Toga tried to shake you however she was too much shorter than you to have much of an impact on you. “Where were you? I missed you! I missed you sooo much!”
“I told you that I wouldn’t be around for awhile,” you said, frowning. Toga let go of you and took a step backwards.
“I kinda forgot,” she mumbled, bumping the tips of her index fingers together however her sheepishness didn’t persist for long. Clasping her hands together, she burst into a grin. “I’m so happy you’re here!”
Toga reached towards you again with her arms out, looking for a hug. As she got closer, you slid over a few feet, leaving her grabbing onto nothing but air.
“Aww, that’s cheating,” Toga whined, turning to face you. Even with her face scrunched up, she still looked cute. “I thought you said you wouldn’t use your Quirk like that anymore.”
“Sorry,” you said, opening your arms to welcome her. When Toga moved towards you for the second time, you teleported again and fell back onto the couch. Not wasting another second, Toga found a sudden burst of speed. She dove onto the couch, pouncing on top of you. She barely avoided banging your heads together as she fell.
“You’re trapped!” she said, giggling.
“I’m leaving,” Tomura muttered as he got up from his chair. Frankly you were surprised to see that he was still there.
“Bye bye hands man,” Toga laughed as Tomura shuffled out of the common room. After a few seconds, a door slammed loudly. You were disappointed that you could tell that it was the door to his room from the sound alone. “It’s just us now!”
Even though Toga had finally trapped you, she suddenly froze. “Ahh, ahh, wait I had something to show you!” Toga jumped off of the couch and ran around to behind the couch. By the time you sat up Toga had already disappeared upstairs and had taken her backpack with her.
You fell back onto the sofa and stared up at the ceiling. The light fixture hanging from the ceiling was splattered with black spots, probably bugs that had flown in and died inside. You weren’t sure that it had ever been cleaned, and it likely would never be. Once Toga returned, you would forget about the light fixture altogether.
About five minutes later, Toga jumped down the stairs and scurried towards you. She bolted from the bottom of the stairs and leapt back on top of you. Curiously, she looked no different and was carrying nothing in her hands.
“Oh, what did you go to get?” you asked. Vaguely, you remembered that you had picked up a keychain for Toga while on your trip. While you weren’t sure what her keys were for, her collection of keychains was about a foot long. Maybe you shouldn’t have contributed to her chain, but the small pom-pom bunny was too cute and too well-suited for Toga to pass up.
“Ahh, I forgot,” she whined. “Forgive me!” Toga flopped down onto you, almost knocking the air out of you. After the initial shock the two of you settled comfortably. You set your hand on her back, rubbing a soft circle with your palm. Toga had a hard time staying still and was trying to follow where your hand was. Eventually you gave up and just held onto her.
While you had gotten more than enough sleep last night, you felt a bit tired. Your eyes felt as if they were being tugged shut and after a bit of resistance you gave in. It was as if just waiting to see her had worn you out. Toga was like a warm, yet restless, blanket resting on top of you. It had been worth the wait.
“(name)-chan,” she purred quietly, “open your eyes.” To you, her voice sounded different but this was the first time you had seen her in the past week. If she hadn’t been so close to you, you weren’t sure that you would have known that it was her.
Slowly, you opened your eyes to see that you were looking into a mirror. You were staring face to face with yourself. While you yourself were quite confused, the other you was grinning from ear to ear.
“Look, look,” the other you cheered, “you can see how cute you are now!”
“Toga?” you asked. You considered for a moment that you might have fallen asleep, but you had never had such a lucid dream before. The situation you found yourself in was almost surreal. You had yourself, or at least someone who looked like you, resting on top of you. You weren’t even sure for how long it had been like this.
“Yup, still me!” she assured you. As she watched you, having taken on your form, you remembered what her Quirk was. She didn’t use her Quirk around you often, so it was easy to forget.
“Why-” you started, before you cut yourself off. You took a breath before you tried again. “How did you get my blood?”
Toga set a finger up against her lips and shushed you.
“It’s my lil secret, ‘kay?”
Toga leaned in and planted a quick kiss on your forehead. If you had kept your eyes closed, it would have been like any other kiss, but knowing that she had taken on your form made it weird. Toga was on top of you as well, and so you weren’t sure what to do with your hands. They were resting on her back, but you were confused as to whether you were touching her or if you were touching yourself. Either way it was giving you a feeling like no other you had felt before.
Underneath your hands, Toga began to melt as she shed your form and returned to normal. Having kept her own clothes when she had transformed into you, she wasn’t left naked. While you might not have minded that, this wasn’t the best place.
“Well I tried,” Toga said sighing, but not defeated. Like she was still melting, Toga slid and settled next to you on the couch. While she was no longer on top of you as she had been, the two of you were still holding onto one another, and that’s all either of you wanted.
“I really missed you Toga,” you told her with a soft squeeze. You needed to tell her that more often.
Later, you would present her with the pom-pom keychain. Hooking the bunny onto the chain with the others, Toga held up the now longer chain. Beaming, she couldn't hide how happy she was.
“We’re official now!” she laughed, grabbing onto you. The long keychain hit against your back as she hugged you tightly. You hugged her back, rocking her ever so slightly. Although that wasn’t what you had meant with the keychain, you were glad that Toga had taken it the way she did. And so you squeezed her just a bit tighter, letting her know that you were there.
