The Dragon Age

Summary:

The Dragons were going to be someone else’s problems, someone else's headaches and nightmares. . . . .Someone else's. . . . .war.
~✿~✿~✿~
Crown Princess L/N Y/N was never one to care about her Kingdom's history or destiny. She was much rather interested in not being remembered as the Queen who lead her Kingdom into ruins like her ancestor did before her.
Despite her ancestor being remembered quiet fondly for his sacrifices, no one ever really wanted to follow in his footsteps when it came to being a ruler-it’d be insane to wish for that kind of chaos. Not to mention, she'd be even more outcasted by her fellow royals and that wasn't something she needed so close to her coronation.
What she did need, however, was some kind of way to earse all doubts of her becoming Queen. Not just the doubt from her parents or advisors or even fellow royals, but also from herself. She needed to do something.
And before she knew it, she finds herself facing a new Age as she secretly travels across the land with her new friends and(more importantly)the oh-so alluring, but criminally stubborn Bakugou Katsuki. . . .
Remember to thank Deku if you survive this.

~✿~✿~✿~✿~✿~✿~✿~Prologue~✿~✿~✿~✿~✿~✿~✿~

 Dragons.

They ran the world. Forget girl power or whatever that one song said, it's Dragons who had the unimaginable power and intelligence. And because of that, they ran a good chuck of the world known as the Realm while the rest was divided and sold off to the humans that feared the Dragons. Through this, Kingdoms—both large and small, monarch ruled and not-started to grow throughout the world. There was quite a lot of them, but there only a few that could qualify as stable and true Kingdoms.

These few Kingdoms were Aeneous the Shining Bronze Kingdom, Modena the Crimson Kingdom, Infuscate the Clouded Kingdom, and Stramineous the Strawy Kingdom, or better known as the Worthless Kingdom.

Why is it known as that? You'll find out later, don't worry.

So, you might think that Dragons weren't that bad considering they let humans live and develop societies and such, but there was a catch. There's always was a catch. And this particular catch was that the main Kingdoms would hand over 3/4ths of their gold and silver if they wanted to be able to avoid a massive attack that would destroy their homes and lives. The Kings of the land reluctantly agreed and gave the creatures what they wanted, forming a deal between the two species that would occur once every year. The humans would bring as much gold and sliver they could carry to the Dragons, and then the Dragons would graciously accept.

It was a stable and good deal, as the original Kings had thought, and it continued to be a normal occurrence. As time passed and as humanity continued to live and die, nothing ever changed and no one expected it to. But I assume, you can imagine the surprise look on everyone’s faces when the new Dragons decided that they were no longer satisfied with the original arrangement their ancestors had made. Now they wanted something more. Something more valuable. And what did they think was so valuable? Simple.

Human lives.

A Kingdom's worth of them. If they received what they asked for, then they’d spear the other Kingdoms and the people for another three centuries or so.

It was unclear as to why they were asking when they could clearly take, but that wasn’t what people were questioning. It, of course, only took a millisecond for the previous surprise to switch to fear as people panicked and rioted against this new arrangement, begging and demanding for the Kings to start a war rather then sell their lives. And with only as little as three months to decide, they were already staring into the eyes of Death. With the four main Kingdoms and many more in danger, the Kings of those four Kingdoms held a meeting to discuss their options and figure out what the plan was.

All of the Kings, excluding Stramineous', would talk for hours nonstop, proposing ideas and counter-deals that could work and desperately clinging on to anything to save their people. But they could find nothing. It was then the Kings of Aeneous, of Modena, and of Infuscate became troubled, unsure of what to do and whether or not they could do anything at all. The King of Stramineous, however, saw the bigger picture and believed he had a plan that could fulfill the Dragons' demand and save them all.

And on the first day of the final month, he spoke up.

"Let us give them a Kingdom." He said. "We shall give them mine.We shall give them Stramineous."

It was almost as if the room was empty, no sound or breath escaping the mouths of the Kings as they stared wide-eyed at the Stramineon. When the silence broke, the Aeneous King spoke with only the faintest of questions. He asked the Stramineous King many confused and concerned questions to which he had all the answers.

Why? What about the people? What about his kid? Himself?

In recent years, the Kingdom of Stramineous started to decay. It had become the poorest and most crime infected one of the four. It was the least defended and it had many broken and destroyed buildings. The people were struggling. His Kingdom was just. . . .worth less.

The Stramineous King believed that by having his son marry one of the other Kings' daughters, they could take in all the innocent citizens and allow his son to remain royal. And since Stramineous was the one with most criminals on death row, he believed that bringing the worst of the worst to the Kingdom could replace those who were innocent.

Morally, there was a lot of holes, but logically, it was the best plan they had.

When the day had finally come for the Dragons to receive their demands, all of the worst criminals had been moved into Stramineous, the Prince was placed in Infuscate, and the other Kingdoms had gone into lock-down. Everything was now set in stone and there wasn’t anything that could change what was about to happen.

But what about the Stramineous King? ,You may be asking. Well, the King had put a lot of thought of what he would do, where he would be and go during the massacre of his Kingdom, and he kept going back to the same option.

If his Kingdom was going to die, he would die with it.

He failed to lead it into a bright and prosperous future and was now going to allow it to perish to the monstrous Dragons that may or may not try to attack another Kingdom. He had gone to stand in the courtyard of his castle, awaiting the fire and death that was promised. No one saw him that day, before or after the Kingdom became nothing but ruins. And despite him leaving no will in sight, it is a common belief that his last thoughts were of his son.

Once the smoke had cleared, the Dragons left and kept their word, only making a small note to remember the Stramineous King and what he had done. And for many, the Dragon Age had ended and the thought of Dragons had slowly vanished. Even with heavy hearts, the Kings moved on with their people, and celebrated the birth of a new Infuscate Prince.

Over the next hundred years, things changed drastically. A new Kingdom surfaced known as the young but powerful Endeavor Kingdom, the formation of a council know as the Hero Organization-located in the newly named All Might kingdom, and the Stramineous Massacre reached its a hundredth anniversary. Everything was peaceful, and with only two hundred more years before the Dragons came back, there was no rush.

The Dragons were going to be someone else’s problems, someone else's headaches and nightmares. . . . . Someone else's. . . . . war.

That's what they were supposed to be.

But the war had become your's.
