Work Text:
Yoongi has no clue why his boyfriend has randomly left for the store. Assuming the kid went out to get some food, the older just stayed in his room. After 30 minutes at the store and setting up whatever Jimin has prepared, he goes to show his boyfriend. He peaks his head in, and then slides his whole body into their bedroom to not startle him. "Babe come see what I got," Jimin says excitedly, but Yoongi doesn't pay much attention to the youngers words.
"Please Yoongi!" Jimin whines to his boyfriend, "It'll be fun, come on." Jimin pulls Yoongi up from his desk chair, dragging him down the stairs. "Fine, fine, let's go check it out." Yoongi mutters softly. Once the couple reaches the bottom and towards the dinning room table, Yoongi finally sees what the younger was wanting to do. There's several coloring books, some more childish than others, and many boxes of colored pencils. "You wanted to color?" Yoongi asks confusedly, Jimin responds with a high pitched giggle. A small smile breaks out on his face, "God you're ridiculous," he mutters, sitting down in a chair.
Jimin has been complaining on wanting to do something cute with his boyfriend lately, so he took it into his own hands. "Yes, we are coloring for a date." Jimin responds with a smile, taking a seat next to Yoongi, even scooting the chair a bit closer. He takes a box of colored pencils and picks out a coloring book that seems like it's targeted more for 5 year olds rather than a 21 year old.
Yoongi takes a more sophisticated looking book and opens a second package. Both of them flipping through their book, picking their desired page. "Don't tell me you're about to color page with bunnies and flowers babe," Yoongi judges but also smiles widely. Jimin nods, eyes disappearing from his smile as he starts to pick out colors. His boyfriend's page is quite opposite, a tangle of many lines and knots, making for an interesting end product.
10 minutes of silence later, Yoongi directs his attention away from his page to his boyfriends. "Damn, I think that bunny is cuter than you Jiminie," he says while resting his head against the younger's shoulder. Jimin turns his face toward the other, pouting his lips. Yoongi laughs and sits up too quickly kiss him, going back to his own paper. Jimin lays his head onto the older as he had done to him previously. Smiling, he watches in almost trance as his boyfriend carefully colors in the lines.
Yoongi lays his hand on the others knee comfortingly as he continues his own coloring. Looking down every once in awhile to see his boyfriend lovingly watch him coloring, his heart flutters a little. "Continue your page babe," Yoongi insists and rubs Jimin's knee before removing his hand to steady his own paper. "Fine," he drags out, "It was just nice seeing you so focused." he plainly smiles, then going back to filling in scattered flowers on his page
Jimin finishes his paper, signing his name in the bottom corner. “Hm, you’re still not even halfway done?” He asks. Yoongi nods in agreement. “Do one of the cute ones, don’t worry about it being perfect,” He whines, pushing the book he colored in towards the other. Yoongi sighs but agrees to please his boyfriend. “Okay, okay, only for you though,” Yoongi curls his lips into a smile, looking through the colored pencils sprawled out on the table.
“You’re spoiled you know?” Yoongi says quietly while he concentrates on filling in the fur of a dog, “You’ve got me sitting here coloring a dog sat in a patch of flowers,” He chuckles. Jimin only smiles in response, a faint blush on his cheeks as he leans his head into Yoongi’s neck. “Clingy,” He mutters, wrapping a soothing grip over his boyfriend's knee.
Jimin couldn’t believe this was his reality. Last year at this time you could easily find Jimin trailing behind Yoongi just about everywhere. They’d spend nights like these playing games or just simply sitting in the same room, but with a much greater distance between the two. He’s been pushing off his potential feelings for Yoongi for months now, afraid of ruining the good friendship they’ve maintained.
One of these nights the two were sat on opposite sides of Yoongi’s couch, occasionally laughing and showing the other something funny from twitter. Thinking over it for weeks, Yoongi had mustered up enough courage to explain how he felt towards his friend. “Jimin?” Yoongi spoke to him quietly and almost nervous. “Yeah Yoongi?” He asked, his voice laced with slight concern since Yoongi seemed fidgety. He turned his face to Jimin and just let it go. “Hey, uh, I think I like you.”
Even in that moment, Jimin never knew they would grow so much closer. He places a soft kiss against his boyfriend, earning a faked disgusted voice from him. “You know you like it,” He says lightly, wrapping an arm around him. “You wanted to color, why are you snuggled up against me?” Yoongi questions and doesn’t get an answer besides the soft hum from Jimin.
"Babe let's just go lay down or something, all you're doing is watching me color in a dog," Yoongi laughs softly, "We can come back down and color but let's just go chill in bed for a little, huh?" He gets up and lets his hand slide across Jimin's back, waiting for him to get up and follow. Flashing a small smile, Jimin gets up and slides one of his hands against Yoongi's side. They lace their fingers together as they walk to the shared bedroom.
"Ah, my favorite place to be," Yoongi flops onto his side of the bed, pulling his phone from the night stand. Jimin stands a little awkwardly at the foot of the bed, unsure if his boyfriend wants to cuddle with him. Regardless of them being a couple of almost a year, he still worries over if Yoongi wanted to be close to him as much a Jimin does.
Getting caught up in his own mind, he doesn't year the other boy calling his name out. "Jiminie? Honey get your ass over here," He chuckles as he sets his own phone down, slightly sitting up against the pillows. Jimin crawls onto the bed and softly snuggles himself into the olders side, facing him. "What were you thinking about so hard?"
Jimin pouts a little, "No, no, it's nothing don't worry about it." Yoongi pulls him in closer, peppering small kisses throughout his face and neck. "S-Stop," He manages to spit out in between giggles. Jimin tries his best to pull away from his boyfriends grip, but ends up getting pulled back with a stronger grip. "Now tell me what it you were thinking? You looked a little upset and it worries me," Yoongi says with concern.
"Well okay, but it's gonna sound stupid," Jimin says as he cuddles into his side comfortably, "I'm just worried you don't like a lot of affection. Of course you like affection but I'm worried you think I'm too clingy. I know I need way too much attention and I'm all over you all the time. If you ever don't want to cuddle or anything or if I'm being too annoying please just tell me and I'll jus-" He cuts Jimin off with a soft kiss. Yoongi pulls away before the younger can react, smiling. "Jimin, I love how clingy you are, don't ever hold back. It makes you adorable, like a puppy." He smiles, Jimin's face tinted a rose color.
Yoongi lets Jimin face the other way, cuddling into him from behind. He runs his fingers through his boyfriends blonde hair and smiles. His other hand lighting rubbing circles into Jimin's hands, he leans in to whisper something to the younger. "Mhn you know I love you right?" Yoongi says, receiving a nod. "Love you more Yoongi."
"Ah, don't start this back and forth," Yoongi says with only a slight chuckle from Jimin.
