Work Text:
She was sitting in her living room on her favorite chair, one leg draped over the other, bouncing it, which made one of her slippers constantly almost slide off. Her hair was tied up into a ponytail, and the way she was bent over the new edition of Vogue Korea had made her big, round glasses slide almost all the way down her slightly sloped nose. Taehyung watched her sit like that from the doorway for a little while. A small smile made its way onto his face. To him, she was the most beautiful being on the planet. Sometimes it still took him by surprise how she had the capacity to randomly knock the wind out of him, leave him breathless, especially in her purest form: without makeup and wearing comfortable clothes, sitting in her bright apartment, feeling completely serene. He eventually walked over to her. She looked up and smiled at him.
“I think it’s time to leave,” Taehyung said. “You should get ready.”
She nodded in response, got up and put the magazine down on her coffee table. When she turned to her boyfriend, he smiled, gently grabbed her by the waist, and bent his head down to kiss her softly. She then seemed to remember something, and her brows knitted together in concern.
“What should I wear?” she asked him.
He couldn’t help but laugh a little. “Are you seriously worrying about picking the wrong clothes? That’s the last thing you have to worry about. You are a fashion designer.”
“I just don’t want to leave a bad first impression, that’s all.”
“Baby.” He grabbed her by the arms, a little bit more firmly than before, and gave her a stern look. “They’ll love you. I promise.”
Her expression softened and a small smile appeared. “Thanks.”
Taehyung helped her pick an outfit and watched her put on some makeup. She ended up matching her shoes with her boyfriend’s, picking the Gucci loafers he had gotten her for her birthday. It was sunny outside, so they walked to the dorms, fingers intertwined, keeping their faces covered with black face masks and baseball caps. To try his best to put her mind at ease, he constantly complimented her and kept squeezing her hand reassuringly. After fifteen minutes, they arrived at the apartment complex, got let in by security and went up a few floors. In front of the door, she inhaled deeply.
“It will be fine,” Taehyung assured her. “Honestly, having you in my life is the best thing that’s happened to me in a long time. You are exactly what I need and more. I love you. They’ll love you.”
She smiled. “I love you too.”
He squeezed her hand again before letting go to get his key out of his pocket. “Come on, I’ve been waiting for this moment for too long.”
