Work Text:
You stood in front of your mirror, adjusting your outfit for the 15th time. Your outfit for the evening consisted of a decent-looking dark blue jacket and pale blue dress shirt, the top button undone. You felt self-conscious at the way you looked. Honestly, you should have called the whole date off. Once Hoseok sees you he probably won’t want another date. You rubbed your face, forcing yourself to stop thinking these thoughts. Hoseok was the one who asked you on a date, so he must have found you attractive, right?
The doorbell rang and you froze. Taking a deep breath, you walked to the front door, trying to stay calm. You twisted the knob and opened.
Hoseok stood before you, looking absolutely stunning. Eyeliner made his eyes pop, and his hair was styled to look ruffled in the most sexy way, revealing his forehead, undeniably one of your favourite features about him. His own outfit was all-black, wearing a dress shirt with his jacket slung over his shoulder. The sleeves were rolled up to his elbows. He smiled at you, but froze as his eyes swept up and down you, and then his gaze turned dark, lips turning up into a smirk.
“You look good,” he complimented.
Your face flushed and you rubbed the back your neck. “Ah, thank you!” Your eyes met and you felt your breath get taken away.
“Shall we go?” Hoseok nodded his head towards his car. You nodded and the two of you left for the restaurant.
The setting was dimly lit, sensual music in the background. You sat across from Hoseok next to a window that overlooked a great view of Seoul, as the restaurant was on the second floor. Between the two of you was a candle that flickered gently, light casting off Hoseok’s features, making him look majestic. His chin was set in the palm of his hand, staring at you intently as you talked about your day. His other hand snuck up to hold yours and you faltered in your ramble for just a second, feeling warmth spread through your body like alcohol, despite having ordered soft drinks(Hoseok couldn’t handle alcohol that well, and you didn’t really feel like drinking).
The waiter brought you your meals: you had ordered spaghetti with a side of salad, and Hoseok had ordered salmon. The two of you ate in silence for a few minutes.
“How is it?” Hoseok asked gently.
“Delicious!” you gasped. “The best spaghetti i’ve had in my life!”
Hoseok’s eyes lit up. “I’m glad.”
You gestured to Hoseok’s meal. “And yours?”
“Delightful.”
You hummed, a smile on your face. “That’s good.” The two of you stared at each other for a moment for continuing eating.
“Did I tell you that you look adorable ?” your date asked.
“W-what?”
“Blue looks good on you.”
You blushed at his words, shoveling more food into your mouth so you couldn’t reply.
“I’m serious.”
You looked up, and yeah, Hoseok definitely looked serious. “O-oh. Thank you, Hoseok. Honestly, you look better than me-”
“Don’t compare yourself to me. You look handsome and adorable and perfect. Please,” he took your hands in his, “don’t compare yourself to anyone.” His eyes looked almost pleading now, as though you agreeing with him was the most important thing.
Your hands felt warm in his, distracting you. “Okay,” he breathed.
He smiled so softly at you, a look that contrasted to how alluring his outfit made him look. “Thank you.” Then, after a few seconds, he lifted a hand to his mouth but stopped short. “Is this okay?”
Wide-eyed, heart beating, you nodded; Hoseok pressed a small kiss to the back of your hand, the gesture intimate in nature. He smiled at you again, lips growing into a heart.
You slowly pulled your hands back, hiding them in your lap. It was silent, but not awkward; for some reason, even though this was only the second date, you felt.. loved.
After dinner, the two of you shared ice cream, chocolate sauce painting the both your lips. You laughed as a drop dripped down his chin, which he quickly wiped off, embarrassed.
The night was coming to an end and you exited the restaurant, holding hands. For some reason it just felt natural, being close to him like this. He opened the car door for you like a gentleman. You giggled at how dramatic he was; swooping his hand towards it in a large gesturing and saying in a mock-posh voice, “After you, sir.” It was perfect.
Hoseok drove you home, then walked you to your door, hand on your waist. “Thank you for the date,” you said, turning to him, smile tugging at your lips.
“You made it a wonderful date.” Hoseok turned towards you as well. A few seconds passed, then he leaned towards you, eyes slipping shut. You leaned as well.
Your lips met in the middle, soft and only lasting a second. It made you feel warm nonetheless. Your eyes opened and you saw him staring at you; his hand came up to lightly touch your cheek.
You pulled back and nodded your head towards your home, smirking at him as his hand tightened around your waist.
“Want to come inside?”
