Guilty All The Same

Summary:

Bakugou rounded the car but not before Aizawa caught a good look at his face. It was a blistering red on one cheek and his eyes were watery; not because he was upset, that much was certain, but because of the pain. Bakugou must have felt his gaze, turning and glaring at him before jumping into the car, Midoriya meekly climbing in the other side and squeezing himself as close to the door as possible.

The shame of it was, if Bakugou had showed even the slightest hint of asking for help, Aizawa would have taken him.

Notes:

I probably took this a little out of context but a couple of panels from chptr 165 had me go...oh. And then I had to expand on it because I always love Dadzawa.

Work Text:

Midoriya and Bakugou were fighting again. What they were fighting over, Aizawa never knew. It seemed that no matter how many times he scolded them or pulled them aside - or All Might for that matter - they just went back at it. Today had been no exception, squabbling during the class’ rest period and nearly getting them thrown out of the hotel they’d been booked into for their three day excursion. Aizawa had slammed them both onto separate benches out the front of the building and informed them he was calling their parents to come and collect them. Midoriya had hunkered down in shame while Bakugou had folded his arms and looked away angrily.

Unfortunately, one phone call in and Aizawa was informed that Mrs. Midoriya would not be able to pick up Izuku as she was unable to get out of work. She’d suggested he call Bakugou’s mother and Aizawa had sighed, rubbing his temples as he hung up. Ideally, he wanted them separated but Midoriya’s only other emergency contact was Yagi Toshinori and god only knew what Class 1-A would think if All Might came and collected Midoriya. And yes, Aizawa was well aware of Todoroki’s little theory; best not to fan the flames.

Which left him with Bakugou Mitsuki.

Aizawa barely spoke two words before she was yelling at him and informing him she was already on her way; that Inko had filled her in. He was only too pleased to end the conversation, informing the boys of the arrangement and warning them one last time not to move. Midoriya looked as though he hadn’t so much as blinked since Aizawa had last been out there but, oh well, it seemed his punishment was working then.

The last stragglers from 1-A’s free afternoon had just been returning some two hours later and gathering in the hotel’s front conference room when Bakugou Mitsuki arrived. The only reason Aizawa even knew was the hasty stammering that came from the door directly under the balcony in front of him.

“A-Aunt Mitsuki! I...It wasn’t Kacchan’s fault-...We both-”

The resounding smack! was so loud everyone in the room froze. Uraraka murmured something about ‘Deku’ but Aizawa already knew with a heavy heart that wasn’t true. He wasn’t blind to the way Todoroki flinched when the yelling started either.

“What was that for you dumb bitch?!”

“Don’t speak to me like that you ungrateful brat! You and your fucking fighting Katsuki! And you-” There was a yelp and Aizawa approached the balcony and peered over, hoping he wouldn’t have to interfere. “Stop letting Katsuki push you around Izuku! It’s fucking embarrassing. Now both of you, get in the car.”

Aizawa watched as Mitsuki pointed a finger at Bakugou severely. “One fucking word out of you and you’ll regret it, understand?”

Bakugou flipped her off and rounded the car but not before Aizawa caught a good look at his face.

It didn’t sit right with him and for one of the first times in his life, Aizawa wondered if he hadn’t been too rash in his decision making. He could have, at the very least, grounded the boys to their hotel rooms or put them on house arrest and shipped them back to UA. It was because of that alone that he ended up calling both sets of parents back the next evening and telling them their boys were allowed back to the excursion if they promised to behave. Midoriya Inko was quick to jump in and assure him she would be able to bring both boys up in the morning, save Mitsuki a trip.

The clock hadn’t even struck eight by the time Mrs. Midoriya arrived the next morning and Aizawa wondered at what ungodly hour she’d gotten Bakugou and Midoriya up. He was barely awake and his students were nowhere to be seen. Considering they weren’t leaving until nine-thirty, he didn’t expect to see any of them before nine-twenty.

Still, he trundled his way down to the entrance, watching as Inko took a few moments to turn around and say something to one of the boys in the back. Glancing through the window, Aizawa raised an eyebrow. It seemed Bakugou had fallen asleep and, somewhere along the line, Midoriya had fallen asleep too, head lolled onto Bakugou’s shoulder. Midoriya was stirring though, rubbing his eyes but settling down when Inko spoke to him. Huh. Obviously she wanted to speak with him before waking her charges. There was no doubt in his mind what it was regarding.

However, Inko had barely had time to climb down and scuttle around the vehicle before a loud, “What the fuck?! Get off me Deku!” came from the backseat. There was the sound of a door being flung open, gravel being kicked, and an explosion. Two seconds later Bakugou and Midoriya were tussling on the ground and Aizawa had never been more ready to go back to bed.

“Izuku!” Inko called, making said boy jump away and to his feet, sheepishly toeing the ground even as Bakugou was getting to his feet too. He froze when Inko stroked his cheek though, tutting at a mark that could barely count as a smudge. “Izuku,” she scolded.

“S-sorry K-Kacchan,” Midoriya stammered, bowing several times and backing away with his hands up.

Too nice, Aizawa thought. He was too nice. Still…

“And, Katsuki…”

Said boy grunted, pointedly looking away. “Yeah Auntie?”

Inko’s hand moved to his hands, taking them gently and causing the boy to start again. “Katsuki.”

“Alright, geez, fuck!” he snapped, tearing his hands away and marching towards the car. Bakugou then grabbed his and Midoriya’s bag, tossing Midoriya’s to him before heading inside. It was a Bakugou apology if ever Aizawa had seen one.

It was interesting though that Inko would use the gentle approach with Katsuki. Izuku, he understood, what with his kind nature and all but Bakugou? And, more interestingly, that it actually worked. It made Aizawa wonder if anyone had ever tried being gentle with Bakugou before. Well, he bet Midoriya had but those two set each other off like nothing else so that hardly created anything solid to base calculations off of.

“Thank you Kacchan!” Midoriya called brightly, butchering an apology as he passed Aizawa and sprinted in the direction of what he knew was Todoroki’s room. Aizawa watched him go only briefly before finding Bakugou, who was slumped in the chair next to the vending machine in the lobby, coffee can in hand. Seconds later Kirishima swooped down, chattering away about passing Midoriya and so knowing he was here and while he didn’t pull a smile out of Bakugou, he pulled something.

“Uh...Mr. Aizawa?”

He didn’t even bother turning around. “Don’t worry Mrs. Midoriya. I’ll be sticking to house arrests from now on.”

“T-thank you.”

Yes, house arrests for Bakugou for as long as he was his homeroom teacher. His eyes then flicked in the direction Midoriya had gone. Hmm, better make that house arrests for Todoroki too.

Thanks for reading! I'm thinking about doing something similar with Todoroki but no promises :))) Hope you enjoyed; comments are always appreciated and loved <333 .xx Dan
