Work Text:

Yoongi was left with a bunch of paper works on the office and he honestly has no idea how to deal with this much work with all the things going on in his life.

First, he can't work efficiently because of stress causing him to have poor remarks from his boss.

Secondly, they are near losing their apartment cause they can't pay the rent.

And lastly. . . Nothing is going well with his relationship with Jimin.

Blonde hair pressed against his forehead as he repose his dome on his desk to take a quick rest just to clear it.

"Fuck" he muttered to himself cause he can't really think of any solution to his problems.

"Get it together Yoongi. At least you still have your job" those were his reassuring words as he lift his head from the greyish black desk which he reminded himself to clean later on.

He's almost done with half the pile of papers on his desk when he realized it's already lunch time.

"Hyung work on that later. Let's grab something to eat." With dimples showing and all, Namjoon stared at Yoongi for what it seems like eternity as he waits the older to respond.

"No I'm fine. I'm not hungry. Thanks anyway." With the usual cold voice he responded not even looking at the taller man.

"You sure? I mean Jimin might get mad if you won't eat something."

With the mention of Jimin's name, his voice even got colder, hands lifted from the keyboard "Yes I'm pretty much sure Joon. Just go have your lunch ok. I'll eat when I'm hungry." Namjoon sighs before giving off his friendly smile.

"Ok hyung see you later" Yoongi retorts with an almost whisper 'bye' to Namjoon before the younger disappear from the distance.

Yoongi rethinks Namjoon's words.

I mean Jimin might get mad if you won't eat something.

For a moment Yoongi thought of Jimin. What's he's up to, where he's at and how is he doing. Yoongi can't stop worrying especially now that their relationship is on the rocks.

He stops encoding the bill report he was suppose to submit later on and stare at the monitor of his computer.

Yoongi grabs his blonde locks tight like it's his life line. Anger and sadness lingering in his system as he remembers the most recent argument he had with Jimin.

"What the hell is wrong with you Jimin?! I'm trying to work here for the both of us. And this is what you do to help?!" Yoongi nearly breaks the thing he was holding. Whatever that thing is, Yoongi is channeling his anger to the poor object, gripping to it so tightly.

"Oh so you're telling me that I'm a burden to this place am I?!! Cause clearly that was all you think of me from the first place...a burden." Jimin burst into tears after the raging bawl he unleashed. Eyes bloodshot and breathing became heavy.

"All you...think o-of....me w-was a good-for-nothing.." he paused to gain for more air. Still out of breath for lashing out words while sobbing.

"Boyfriend...if it's still what you consider me."

"Jimin.." Yoongi loosens up from his tense angry form while in the process of saying the younger's name.

"No I know...I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for causing trouble. Taehyung bailed me out already and you don't have to do anything. Everything is fixed." Jimin used the back of his hand to wipe the tears off his cheeks and he straighten up.

"Don't worry Yoongi..." he sniffs before he continued. "This burden will be out of your way soon I promise." And with that said, Jimin storms out of the room and went to wherever place Yoongi doesn't know as he heard the front door shut, almost deafening.

Yoongi palms his face as he was on the verge of crying again making him so exhausted.

"Relax Yoongi. Everything will be alright." He closed his eyes tighter as if he doesn't want to open them no more. "Maybe not now but everything will be aright." He took a deep breath and continued with encoding his reports.

--

It was nearly 9 o'clock pm which means it's time to face Jimin again....if he is home.

"Hyung I'll be on my way. Jin is waiting." Namjoon walks towards the elevator door and bide with his goodbyes."Say hello to Jimin for me."

Namjoon's voice echoed throughout the empty hall making Yoongi's heart sting a bit. "Yea..I will." He doesn't even know why he replied to Namjoon's statement when clearly it was just a lie.

Talking to Jimin is one of the task he clearly can't execute as of the moment. But he entreats he can get it done for the sake of the both of them.

He drove home safely like always and expects his dog to welcome him, assuming that Jimin is not home.

He parked his ride and began searching for the apartment keys. From afar he can hear Holly's rackety barks. Key in, doorknob was twisted, Yoongi went in and was welcomed by his ever loyal pet.

"Holly-yah were you alone all day?" He ruffles Holly's fur as the dog barks spontaneously indicating he missed a human presence.

The blonde male finally smiles genuinely for the first time for that day. Silently thanking Holly for being here all the time.

"Did you miss daddy?i missed you too" he cupped Holly's face before closing the door behind him.

Holly followed his owner to his bedroom still barking and tail wiggling from happiness. Yoongi noticed something upon entering the room. The things inside remained untouched dictating that Jimin was never home even once.

Yoongi looked at his precious pet. What seems like a mirror, Holly also wears a frown on his face.

"I know Holly I miss him too." Yoongi doesn't know if Holly can understand what he just said but Holly's sparkling orbs were enough of a reply for him. He knows that the dog can feel his sadness. Especially when the dog is the witness of the nightly brawls and ruckus.

--

With Jimin not at home, Yoongi waits for his arrival thinking that will be home any minute. He sat on their ragged chocolate-colored couch and watched whatever drama was on TV.

"Maybe I should cook while I wait." Yoongi stands up from the couch and went to their kitchen and searched through the fridge. "He might be hungry."

Upon checking the fridge he made a quick reminder to himself to go to the grocery store. Through the empty shelves he spots 3 packs of ramen, Jimin's favorite.

"Hyung let's buy several packs of this ramen. They're good!" Jimin was giddy and jumpy while gathering the said ramen.

"You sure?" the older male grabs one on the shelves and checks the labels like he's some kind of examiner.

"Of course I'm sure.." the black-haired male snatched the ramen Yoongi was holding and puts it in the shopping cart. "...they're my favorite." Jimin's wide smile and crescent-formed eyes flashed through his pretty face, which Yoongi loved so much. He loved Jimin being so happy.

Yoongi sigh in defeat and happiness then planted a kiss on the younger's forehead. "Fine grab as much as you want." He displayed his usual gummy smile while caressing Jimin's cheek with his right hand.

The latter giggled and sent butterfly kisses on Yoongi's face until he landed on his soft pink lips, kissing it passionately. They broke the kiss after a few seconds considering that both of them need some air to breathe.

He left a quick smack on the older's lips, arms still on his neck. "I love you Yoongi"

"I love you sunshine"

Jimin unclamped himself from Yoongi and starts pushing the cart towards the next aisle.

Yoongi almost smiled at the memory. Still remembering that Jimin had to return half the ramen he grabbed cause they can't pay for all of it.

He closed the fridge after getting the packs of ramen he is about to cook. He turned on the stove and begin to boil the water at a stainless pot. He drenched the noodles almost quietly when he remembered he left the TV turned on.

--

Yoongi finished cooking about two hours ago and Jimin was still not home. " 11:05...where the hell could he be?" He clicked his tongue and the grabbed the remote to change the channel.

"Freaking dramas..." Yoongi switch from one channel to another, aggressively pushing the button.

To his annoyance the turned off the television and tossed the remote to the dusty coffee table. "where could you be Park Jimin?" all that Yoongi could do was worry and wait.

--

It was already 12:45 and Yoongi's worry grew big. Hearts beating fast as he think of where Jimin could be.

"Maybe he's at Taehyung's place.." he utters.

He knows there's a huge possibility that the younger might be in Taehyung's place but fear still creeps into him so he stood up, delve for his phone on his pocket and dialed the bright boy's number.

"Yoongi hyung?" Not even a single word spoken, Taehyung already knew what Yoongi was about to tell."Is this about Jimin?"

"Well yeah.. ah you see I was just wondering if Jimin is at your place cause..." he swallowed a huge amount of saliva for his dried-out throat. "Uhmm because he's not home yet and it's getting late." Yoongi pinch the bridge of his nose, preventing himself to cry.

"Hyung he's not here." Taehyung's words were crystal clear that it almost made Yoongi's ear bleed.

"Oh is that so.." hoarse voice building up from forestalling his waterworks. "Do you at least know where he might be? Tae I'm worried."

His left hand gripping his soaked from sweat hair and the other on his phone while walking back in fort, not knowing what to do.

"I'm sorry hyung." Taehyung's soft voice was feckly comforting if not for the reason why he said it. "Since yesterday, I haven't seen or talked to him. I tried calling him but his phone was out. Hyung what happened again?"

There was silence for a while and Taehyung knew why so he didn't bide for Yoongi's response and spoke

"We all know that the relationship between you two aren't going well. And the both of you knew why. " Taehyung sighs as deep as a well, collecting words.

"I honestly don't know if it's fixable by this point but please at least try. I was the witness of your sweet beginnings. I watched the both of you fall madly in love for each other that Jimin almost didn't hangout with me at that time." An airy laugh slips through the younger man's lips as he recalls it.

"But it also sucks witnessing that valuable bond crash and ruined by whatever reason it might be that I'm sure is not worth it." Yoongi felt a twinge in his chest as he felt guilt.

Yoongi knew it's his fault. He was suddenly so engrossed with his job he didn't have enough time for Jimin. But he tried to at least cook dinner or buy flowers for the male but he just thinks it's not enough. But Yoongi also knew that a relationship grows with the effort of two and Jimin was beginning to leper making such effort.

Yoongi almost forgot he was on the phone when Taehyung spoke again." Hyung I think the both of you need to talk before it's to late." Yoongi nods as if Taehyung will see it.

"I'll contact Jungkook to ask for help looking for Jimin. Don't worry hyung we'll get him home."

"Thanks Tae..."

"Anytime hyung. Gotta go...we need more time looking for Jimin."

"Yea thanks again..."

"Take care hyung" Yoongi ended the call and started sobering up. He locates for his car keys and grabs his jacket, locking the door before running to his car.

--

"Where the hell could you be at this hour Jimin...damn it." Streets empty from cars and by passers, Yoongi can't think of any place to go. After almost an hour of roaming around the city and entering any possible bars or convenient stores, he lost hope and thought of going back to their apartment. "Maybe he's home already..."

Yoongi drove back quick just to check if his lover  was already home. To his surprise the front door was slightly open which meant somebody entered, having said that the door was locked.

Yoongi almost drifts on the process of parking his car, turning off the engine and sprints to the front door.

He was out of breath, drops of sweat forming and dripping from his forehead as he called for Jimin's name.

The younger was on the hallway dragging something, which Yoongi completely ignored, when he held Jimin tight between him arms.

Yoongi cupped Jimin's cheeks and looked at him with whatever emotion he was feeling at that moment. Jimin on the other hand stayed still as if he was a mannequin.

"Where have you been huh? Me and Taehyung were worried sick. We circled the city looking for you.." instead of a scream-like outburst Yoongi's voice was soft and careful, not wanting to startle Jimin or trigger his stored anger.

Jimin didn't answer instead he removed Yoongi's hands from his pale cheeks, toughen up and spoke

"I'm going.." he tighten his hold on his bag, which Yoongi assumed was full of clothes, and looked at the latter.

"Going where? Jimin what are you doing? You..." Yoongi covers his mouth with his hand to prevent him from crying out loud.

After a few seconds Yoongi sobered up a bit and continued. " you can't do this to me...you-u can't leave me-e...."

"Why not? We both know this shit is gonna end soon....so why not make the first move." What hurts Yoongi wasn't the statement itself but by the way Jimin said it. The younger was calm and almost relaxed not even making any way for tears to pour.

Yoongi knows it's just stupid to ask but he has to...he has to make sure they're on the same page of the current situation. He has to know.

"Do you still love me?" The question was unleashed almost harshly as the older male tries to keeps his overflowing emotions masked by a straight face.

"I loved you... that's all I know."

Silence came right after and Yoongi made room for Jimin to pass through. Jimin takes it as a signal to proceed on abandoning their apartment.

--

Weeks after the incident, Yoongi found out that Jimin eloped with somebody he met at a club. Yoongi can never be more devastated.

He spends his days thinking whether if it's his fault(which he always thought) why Jimin left.

why?

He asked to the cold air surrounding him. A question left unanswered on the same day Jimin left.
