Work Text:
It wasn't like Taehyung hated working at a Starbucks, it was more like she hated the impolite and rude clients that came with it and hated, even more, the equally dumb and just simply crazy orders that came with it.
If someone were to ask what she liked about working there, it was probably the fact that she managed to catch a few hot girls entering the store and ogling her unashamedly, and also the fact that she had been lucky enough to snatch an even hotter lady for herself and herself only, just by being incredibly embarrassing and dumping an entire iced frappuccino over her work clothes. That day, she had left the store with a skip on her step and a messily scribbled phone number on a piece of paper in her back pocket.
Still, there were times in which Taehyung surely wanted to die. Out all the dumb things she was requested, this one surely won that title. In what world does one order a tall decaf cup of milk? Was this a joke? She looked at Joshua helplessly, the man giving her an apologetic grin before turning to take the next person’s order. Taehyung sighed in despair, silently praying that the customer wasn't going to give her shit for the milk because as much she valued her job, she was not afraid to fight if the situation required it. Who the hell orders a decaf cup of milk anyways?
Thankfully, the client didn't seem to find anything weird on his milk and Taehyung was able to continue working without any incidents. They were just about to close when another customer entered and the girl was ecstatic to realise it was no other than her girlfriend, Jungkook. She grinned and waved brightly, preparing the younger’s usual order before walking over and pecking her lips shortly.
Taehyung finished closing the store rapidly, eager to spend some time with the girl she hadn't seen all day.
She intertwined their hands merrily as they walked to Taehyung’s dorm, making small talk and stopping every once in a while so Taehyung could coo at a baby or pet a passing dog.
They reached the dorm ten minutes later, flopping on Taehyung’s too small bed (even for the older girl herself) so they could cuddle with a Netflix show playing in the background.
“Okay, question time,” Jungkook turned around to look up at her girlfriend, laying her head on her stomach comfortably. “Craziest request of the day?”
“Easy: A Grande Americano in a venti cup with three pumps of caramel, 2 of vanilla, 3 of peppermint, some half and half, two splendas, one packet of honey, at 145 degrees and whipped cream,” Taehyung answered proudly, admiring the way Jungkook’s nose scrunched up a little when she laughed.
“Oh my God, I would die if I ever worked in a coffee shop, no kidding.”
“I know, people don't think so but it's really hard work.” The older girl pondered for a while, twirling a strand of hair between her fingers. “I should get paid more, to be honest.”
“Dumbest request?” Jungkook asked, sitting up on the bed. “And their name too because I need to make fun of them for the rest of their lives.”
Taehyung snorted at that, shaking her head at her girlfriend's meanness. They really were perfect for each other.
“A decaf cup of milk.” The older responded. Jungkook let out a soft ‘what the fuck’ before breaking into a fit of giggles, falling back down on to the bed with the force of it. “And his name was… Something like Richard.”
“I really love your job but I would never be able to work there.” Jungkook murmured softly after she had calmed down.
Taehyung nodded her head in agreement, moving so that she was straddling her girlfriend and slipping her hands under her shirt to feel the warmth of her slightly toned stomach, leaning down a little to press a small kiss to the corner of her girlfriend’s lips, and then another one on her nose and eyelids until she had kissed every inch of her face.
Jungkook smiled softly as she moved back to the bed, cuddling even closer to her, her attention now on the film playing even if she had missed more than half of it. Jungkook stroked her hair adoringly, admiring her gentle yet firm and strong features.
“What about your day, though?” Taehyung mumbled sleepily.
Jungkook hummed fondly, playing with the ends of her earring distractedly.
“It went well,” she recounted. “Yugyeom tried to kiss me today, too. He says I'm not gay and that it's just a phase and that once I kiss him I'll fall in love with him.”
“You should kiss him,” Taehyung snickered, fiddling with Jungkook's shirt. “Just so he can shut up about it.”
“He's only salty because I told Bambam that I had a girlfriend first, I don't think he actually wants to kiss me.”
"Even better, then," Taehyung giggled maliciously, pushing her head back against Jungkook's hands so she would continue petting her. "Didn't he say he was full homo for Jaebum?"
"Yeah, but who isn't?"
"Oh. shit, you're right."
"I don't know, though, he also said he wanted Jennie to step on her, so he might be bi, too."
Taehyung only made an affirmative noise while she moved slightly, turning her back to him and wrapping Jungkook's arm around her waist. She felt her nuzzle her nose on the back of her neck affectionately, the action causing shivers to run down her spine.
They fell asleep like that, intertwined together with a film playing on the background and all the lights still on, the clock reading 9:30 on as the door opened again, the sound of steps filling the room until they stopped next to their bed to drape a blanket over the both of them. But Taehyung would do this again and again if it meant having Jungkook by her side, being silly with her and teasing her to no end while loving her with her entire heart. She was happy like that.
