Six Different Kisses

Summary:

It was no secret among them, that they all still wanted Jungkook. So, to make it fair they would each have a day to woo Jungkook’s pants off. However, there were rules. These rules prohibited sex, they also couldn’t confess out right, or explicitly ask him out. They were allowed one day, and they could do anything considering it didn’t break the rules.

Notes:

This is a continuation to Six Types of Love. It's been a while I'm sorry. The plan was to post this on Valentine's day but life. But hey the fic takes place after Valentine's day so I guess it fits.

Btw, I don't really recommend reading this before it's prequel or you will be confused.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Jungkook was currently trying to keep his emotions to himself, but Yugyeom was set on asking him a thousand questions Jungkook could not answer.

No he did not know why his ex’s showed up at the cafe together like that. He did not know what they wanted, nor did he really care.

He was kind of mortified that Taehyung heard them talking about him, which means they knew he was talking about all of them, and on Valentine’s day nonetheless. After the quick introduction, Jungkook threw some money on the table and dragged Yugyeom out of there before his big ass mouth could say something stupid.

“Dude slow down your gonna pull my arm out of its socket.” Yugyeom pulled his arm from Jungkook’s hold. They had made it a good couple blocks away from the cafe.

“Sorry I was just shocked,” Jungkook sighed.

“Why were they all there anyway; How did they find you?”

“They’re all friends so them being together ain’t that strange. I don’t know how they found me though” Jungkook ran his hands through his hair, leaning against a wall for support. He felt embarrassed for being in a cafe on Valentine’s day talking about his exes like some lonely loser.

It was even worse because they weren’t your typical exes. No, Jungkook was still friends with all of them. Hoseok was still his roommate and best friend, that he occasionally had sex with. He still went to Yoongi for music advice, and again for the occasional hookup. Jin came over his apartment frequently to cook for him and Hoseok, complaining about how they didn’t eat well enough. He still saw Namjoon because their parents were friends, and he still looked up to the guy. Jimin and Taehyung were now inseparable, and they more often than not dragged him into their nonsense.

All in all, they were all on good terms with him and each other, but on Valentine’s day he just wanted to hang out with his best friend and enjoy his single life. He hadn’t meant to bring them up, but he couldn’t help reminiscing about his past relationships on the day of love.

“Dude you wanna call it a day?” Yugyeom asked. He felt bad Jungkook looked really shaken. I mean seeing your ex's after talking about them like that must feel strange. Yugyeom knew Jungkook was lonely. That's why they agreed to hang out together in the first place.

“No, we’re gonna hang out like we planned to. There is no way i’m going back home now.” Jungkook had this look of determination on his face. Yugyeom couldn’t help but think it was cute.

“Fine, let’s go to the arcade. I still gotta beat your ass at that zombie shooter.” Yugyeom teased.

“Oh you’re on!” they took off running. This is good, Jungkook could take his mind off things this way.

--

Jungkook opened the door slowly, hoping his roommate was asleep. Sadly, his wish did not come to fruition. Hoseok was on the couch watching TV. “Hey.” Hoseok smiled. “How was your Valentine’s day?”

“Good.” Jungkook toed off his shoes and put down his things.

“I didn’t know you and Yugyeom were a thing,” Hoseok questioned, but never took his eyes off the screen.

Jungkook startled, “Uh no we’re not a thing. Neither of us had anybody so we decided to hang out together.” Jungkook could see Hoseok’s shoulders relax, and he finally looked at him.

“Really I only assumed because the kid’s in love with you, so I thought he finally grew some balls.” Hoseok laughed.

“No he’s not Hobi, you just think everyone I talk to is automatically in love with me,” Jungkook deadpanned. “Why were you guys there anyway?”

“We were looking for you.” Jungkook looked over a little shocked. “Why?” he responded.

“They all happen to come by and they wanted to hang, and I figured you were at the cafe, but I didn’t think you would be with anybody. Sorry.” Hoseok shrugged, he wasn’t looking at Jungkook again. He couldn’t, not when he was scared he would reveal the truth.

“No it’s fine I was just surprised and I kinda felt bad Tae heard me talking about him.” Jungkook looked away.

“Nah it’s fine we only heard the last bit, but we figured you told him about all of us.” Jungkook felt his ears burn and quickly made his way to his bedroom with a quick sorry.

Hoseok followed him with his eyes and the minute he closed his bedroom door his relaxed into the couch. He was so scared that their plans would be soiled before they even started. He knew Yugyeom was interested in Jungkook and really thought that they might have hooked up.

Their plans were still safe though. It was true that the others showed up at their apartment out of nowhere, but Jungkook didn’t know that they had made very elaborate plans. Plans that involved Jungkook himself.

It was no secret among them, that they all still wanted Jungkook. So, to make it fair they would each have a day to woo Jungkook’s pants off. However, there were rules. These rules prohibited sex, they also couldn’t confess out right, or explicitly ask him out. They were allowed a day and they could do anything considering it didn’t break the rules. Basically, flirt with Jungkook.

They all randomly chose their day and at the end of the six days, whoever Jungkook chose would be the one and the others would have to back off. There would be no hard feelings to ease the guilt for Jungkook.

The first one up, was Namjoon.

--

He tried so hard to ignore the ringing. He knew he had no classes on Thursday, so why was his alarm going off. It took his sleep addled brain a few seconds to realize that the ringing was in fact an incoming call.

Jungkook was going to skin whoever it was alive. He read the caller ID and shot up quickly answering the call, “Mom!” he winced at how loud his voice came out.

“Stop yelling, you have an hour to get ready and come here.” Jungkook wanted some clarification, but the dial tone made certain he would not get it. His mother was always like this expecting him to drop whatever it was he was doing, to do what she wanted.

He wasn’t about to make her upset though, so he hauled himself out of bed and went about his day. He got ready with about twenty minutes to spare and was headed out the door. He hadn’t seen his mother for awhile. School ensuring he had no social life, so he didn’t think to much of the invitation.

When he finally arrived home; home being a short thirty minute bus trip from his apartment, he was greeted not by his mother but by Namjoon. He stood there for a second a little confused before stepping back to check the address.

“You got the right house,” The man chucked, “Aunty invited my mother and I over.” he stepped aside to let Jungkook in. Jungkook sighed, it was going to be a long day. He stepped inside and went straight for the kitchen where is knew his mother was.

“Hello mother.” his ‘I’m a perfect son’ persona slipping on upon seeing his aunt was there too. He gave her a hug, then stepped over to his aunt to give her one too. She squealed, complaining about never getting to see him and how he’s gotten so handsome.

He chuckled and engaged in quick, baseless conversation with them. He was waiting for his mother to tell him why he was here. “Come sit down we were just about to have tea, Namjoon come on, you and Jungkook haven’t seen each other in awhile,” Namjoon mother spoke, waving him over.

Jungkook listened and sat down and sipped his tea and ate the lunch his mother prepared. He wasn’t really up for conversing, so he settled for listening to the two women gossip. He let out another sigh, he just wanted to go home midterms were coming and he should be studying.

“Midterms huh?” Namjoon smiled.

“Yea, I honestly just want to bury myself alive.” Jungkook huffed, digging his palms into his eyes. Namjoon reached over and took his hands away from his face.

“Don’t do that your gonna hurt your eyes,” Jungkook just looked at him a little shocked at the tender touch. His attention was brought to the snickering women across the table.

“What?” Jungkook questioned, slowly slipping his hands out of Namjoon’s.

“You guys look so good together,” his aunt squealed with delight.

“Mother please,” Namjoon exasperated.

“But a marriage between you two would be great for the family,” Jungkook’s mother chipped in. Jungkook wanted to scream. They didn’t seem to understand that it just didn’t work. They’ve tried already and it failed miserably. Jungkook knew this was going to happen the minute he saw Namjoon at the door, he knew what their mother’s were up to. That means Namjoon also knew what was going on, and that also meant he was going to go along with it.

“Aunty, I understand a marriage between us would be ideal,” Namjoon started. Jungkook knew it, and now he wanted to cry.

“However a marriage between us with no feelings could only end up with us both hurt.” the peach-haired man finished. Jungkook looked over at the man speechless. His previous words being reflected back at him.

“I think Jungkook can agree with me on this since he’s the one who taught me that.” Namjoon turned to smile at him. Jungkook was genuinely astonished but couldn’t help the giggles that escaped.

“I taught the great Kim Namjoon something?” Jungkook asked. Namjoon just smile warmly at him, confusing Jungkook a little.

“Well I guess that’s true,” Jungkook’s mother smirked and got up from the table, Namjoon’s mother following suit.

“Could you please clean up Jungkookie.” Jungkook nodded, already picking up the plates and cups. “I’ll help” Namjoon stated. They cleaned in silence. Namjoon was washing and Jungkook drying.

“So how’s school? I know you mentioned your midterms, but this is your final year, correct?” Namjoon broke the silence.

“Yea, so I’m extra stressed. I honestly just want to graduate already.”

“I hear you’re already considering some companies to sign with?” Namjoon smile. Jungkook just nodded. He wasn’t used to talking about himself like this with Namjoon.

“I think you’ll be good wherever you decide to go. You’re talented as hell.”

It was strange, Namjoon was now a doctor. He was brilliant and basically had his whole life ahead of him. He was the epitome of successful. Mean while, Jungkook was a music and dance major, unsure of his future. Sure, he was popular and everyone said he would get into the biggest company and debut in no time, but there was no guarantee. Jungkook’s whole life was completely different from Namjoon’s, and at times he felt inferior and maybe that’s another reason why they didn’t work out.

However, right now Jungkook didn’t feel like that. He didn’t feel like he was talking to his hyung Namjoon, who he looked up to for years. Not the Namjoon who used to pet his head and tell him to stay in school, like he was some charity case. Not even the Namjoon who moved way to fast in their relationship. No, he was talking to a man that was on the same level as him. Their aspirations and dreams were different, and they were going down completely different paths, but he didn’t feel less than.

“I think you got this, but remember I’m here if you ever need anything.” Namjoon smile down at the cup he was currently washing. Jungkook took the time to study him, to see why he suddenly felt so different.

“I-I want to be part of your life, like your journey? uh… if that’s alright with you?” the man stuttered, a small sheepish smile on his lips. Jungkook’s never seen the man like this, it was sort of cute.

“Hyung, of course you can be. You’ve always been there for me.” Jungkook laughed missing the grimace on the older’s face.

“Yeah, but I don’t want to be your hero Jungkook,” Namjoon whispered. That surprised Jungkook. “What I mean is, you’ve grown so much. You used to be this snotty nosed kid that followed me around everywhere,” he sniggered. Jungkook elbowed him softly.

“But now, now you’ve become so mature and so sure of what you want, it’s astounding.” Namjoon turned to him fully and put the dish down. “I can no longer be your hero because that would mean I was above you, and that is far from the truth. Now I’m learning things from you. Like, not everything is so logical and cleancut; that feelings exist and are hard to understand; that there are things more important than silly ideals.”

Jungkook was awed. The man was glowing. “You’ve influenced me Jungkook, things like marriage and having child are all things I still want, but not now.” Namjoon stepped closer taking the cup from Jungkook’s hands, “I want to find love and experience new things; I want to live for today.” He swiped his wet thumb over Jungkook’s bottom lip, “You taught me that.” Namjoon leaned in and took Jungkook’s lips into his own.

Jungkook stood still, unsure of what was happening or if it was actually even happening. Then Namjoon deepened the kiss and Jungkook let him, pushing into him. Namjoon wound his arms around Jungkook’s waist and Jungkook gripped his shirt. The kiss was tentative and unsure, not wanting to break any boundaries, but Jungkook thought it was a little too late for that.

Namjoon’s mother screaming from the living room had them jumping apart. “I-I’ll go see what she wants” Namjoon scratched the back of his neck.

“Umm yea” Jungkook felt like he couldn’t breathe. He’s never seen Namjoon speak about something so passionately that wasn't his work or music, but that wasn’t what had Jungkook flushed.

It was the, unexpected kiss.

--

Jungkook wondered if disturbing his sleep was going to be a trend this week. Right now he was cradling his head, because someone thought it was a good idea to hover over him while he slept. When he woke to Taehyung’s face inches from his, he shot upward out of instinct and banged their foreheads together.

“Tae I’m really gonna need you to be normal for once and just text me.” Jungkook groaned.

“Sorry, I just wanted to surprise you.” The now grey-haired boy grinned. “Wanna go out? This way I can make up for the injury.”

“Tae, I’m tired” the younger whined, flopping back down on the bed.

“Come on we haven’t done anything together in awhile.” Taehyung started to pout, and crawled over Jungkook and planted his body on him. There was just no fighting Taehyung, it was easier to just give in. Jungkook groaned and whined, but got ready nonetheless.

Taehyung was skipping and twirling through the streets and generally making it harder for other people to go about their business. He seemed so happy that Jungkook didn’t have the heart to tell him to stop.

They were on their way to see a movie. Some action movie Taehyung had been raving about for a good month. “Hey Tae!” Jungkook call him, holding out his hand. He decided to take pity on the other pedestrians before someone’s eye got poked out. Tae happily accepted his hand.

“Hey kookie, I’m sorry.” Taehyung was serious all of a sudden. Jungkook was taken aback and slightly confused. “What for?” Jungkook asked cautiously. Tae’s sudden change in attitude worrying Jungkook.

“I’m sorry for what I did to you.” Taehyung looked over at him, guilt written all over his face. “Ah no Tae, that was so long ago, don’t worry about it.” Jungkook was a little flustered and unsure of how to react. He tried to brush Taehyung’s apology off.

Taehyung was not having it though, “No Jungkook, I broke your trust and cheated on you. Your friend was right I am an asshole.” Taehyung looked so guilty, it made Jungkook feel bad. But he realized brushing it off was not going to solve anything. It would be better to address it now.

“Yea Tae you were an asshole,” Jungkook sighed, trying to hold back a laugh when the older looked at him with betrayal, “But I know that you’ve changed. You’ve proved to me many times that you have matured. I’m proud.” Jungkook squeezed his hand.

Taehyung developed a habit of being overly cautious around others, and constantly asking them if they needed anything. Jungkook guessed it was to show he was more reliable. Jungkook found it funny how the boy who used to disappear with the wind, now wanted to become dependable and solid like a rock.

But, Taehyung was still changing and maturing. He started taking others into consideration. He stopped disappearing out of nowhere, he stopped doing drugs, he started wanting to build relationships with people, to become someone trustworthy.

Jungkook saw these things, but he knew Taehyung didn’t. Maybe it was because he had yet to make Jungkook fully trust him. Yeah Jungkook felt bad for Taehyung, but what happened, happened. He wasn’t going to pretend everything was fine, just so Taehyung could forgive himself. Jungkook’s trust needed to be gained.

Taehyung seemed to relax hearing those words from him. The rest of the way there, the conversation flowed a little freer than before. They arrived at the movies ten minutes late, which for them was normal. Taehyung got their popcorn extra buttery and chose the seats all the way in the back. Luckily there wasn’t many people. Jungkook stole the popcorn and got comfortable.

The movie honestly wasn’t that great, predictable and cheesy. Explains why there were so little people. Jungkook looked over at Tae to see if he felt the same, but the boy was already looking at him.

“What?” Jungkook whispered.

“This movie sucks.” the silver-haired boy admitted. Jungkook snickered into his palm. “But we payed for it so I guess we need to finish it,” Taehyung sighed.

Jungkook hushed the boy and set his eyes back on the screen. Jungkook felt kind of nostalgic. When they were still together they would go to movies like this all the time. They purposely picked the movies that were empty, and sit at the back and do all sorts of crazy shit. Jungkook felt his face heat up at the thought.

He looked back at Taehyung and the boy was staring at him again. This time Jungkook didn’t say anything and just stared back. He watched as the boy leaned closer and grabbed him by the shoulder to pull him closer.

Taehyung was always doing something unexpected and crazy without thinking of the consequences. So, something like this should have been expected. This was really similar to how things between them started. He expected Taehyung to lean in and kiss him like before, but this Taehyung was different.

This Taehyung sat there only inches away. His eyes flitting around the expanse of Jungkook’s face. Finally landing on Jungkook’s own as if to ask for permission. Jungkook was stunned, the boy wanted his permission?

Jungkook smiled softly, and that was enough of an answer because Taehyung was crashing his lips against his. The moment their lips connected, the movie climaxed. Their kiss was accompanied by the sounds of bombs and gunshots.

Taehyung was quick to lick at his lips, and Jungkook was quicker to open them. Taehyung’s tongue slipped against his; Jungkook moaning at the sensation. Taehyung’s hand was trying to bring him closer but the seat armrest was in the way. It was starting to dig into Jungkook’s stomach, but he could care less about with the way Taehyung was kissing him.

It felt like Taehyung was trying to devour him. It was intense and Jungkook’s head was spinning. Taehyung was leaning in, trying to get more of him. The lights in the theater turned on signaling the end of the movie. It also served to break the trance that took over them.

Taehyung pulled away wiping at his lips, and having the decency to look a little shameful. Jungkook was just trying to regain his senses. They walked out of the theater and into the streets in relative silence to the noisy couples around them.

The walk home wasn’t as uncomfortable as Jungkook expected it to be. He still felt like a child though, with how he tried to avoid Taehyung’s eyes. Taehyung on the other hand, had a bounce in his step.

When they finally arrived at Jungkook’s apartment, Jungkook wasn’t sure what to say. He didn’t have to think much cause the older lifted his chin to look at him in the eye.

“Thank you for letting me take you out.” Taehyung flashed his rectangular smile. It eased Jungkook a bit.

“Ah no, it’s nothing. I like hanging out with you hyung.” Jungkook looked down again, feeling a little shy.

“Jungkook,” Taehyung called. Jungkook’s eyes snapped to his at the serious tone. “I’m going to earn your trust.” Jungkook would have looked away if Taehyung wasn’t looking at him so intensely.

Jungkook chuckled fondly, “Yeah, hyung you do that.”

Taehyung left Jungkook with a warm feeling, but it felt different. This warm feeling spread through his body like a fever.

Maybe it was the kiss. That very passionate kiss.

--

Jungkook needed to get out. To forget, to stop thinking. Thinking is all he’s been doing and he going to go insane.

All he can think about is Namjoon and Taehyung. He doesn’t understand what happened, but they‘ve changed and so have his feelings apparently. Jungkook can’t say for sure how his feeling have changed, because he's sure he isn’t in love with them yet. However, they have changed and he feels more aware of them.

He got a call from Yoongi and he accepted his invitation without a second thought. He wanted to release his frustrations and who better than Yoongi, and the man was a pretty good listener. Even if he never could give any actual advice.

Jungkook slipped into Yoongi’s studio quietly, not wanting to disturb the other. He was working on music as per usual. The blond haired boy had headphones on so he probably couldn’t even hear him anyway. The younger man slipped his arms around the working man.

Yoongi didn’t even startle. Continuing to work as if the boy wasn’t even there. Jungkook took the hint and say on the couch to wait for Yoongi to finish. He must have been finishing up a song, he didn’t like to stop in the middle if he thought he could finish it.

Jungkook hadn’t been in the studio in awhile, it seemed like a recurring theme with his friends. Who could blame him though, he was in his final year of university. The familiarity of his surrounding and the sounds of Yoongi working lulled him to sleep.

It was about half and hour later when Yoongi finally out down the headphones, and turned his attention to the lump on his couch. “Hey Jungkookie?” Jungkook slowly opened his eyes, whining at being woken up.

“You could have said no and stayed home if you were so tired.” Yoongi sighed, ruffling the younger’s hair.

Jungkook shook his head, starting to come back to reality. “No, I wanted to come I’ve been frustrated lately,” Jungkook smirked.

Jungkook got up slowly from the couch, eyes never leaving Yoongi’s. He planted himself in Yoongi’s lap and ducked his head into the man’s neck. He dragged his tongue from Yoongi’s neck to his jaw. Jungkook felt the smaller shiver under him. Taking that as a sign to continue, he peppered small kisses along his jaw, before reaching his lips.

Yoongi’s eyes were half lidded. Jungkook’s tongue shot out, sliding across Yoongi’s bottom lip. The older man wasn’t responding which furthered Jungkook’s annoyance. He grinded his hips down a little. He got the reaction he was looking for, Yoongi screwed his eyes shut and let his mouth fall open.

Jungkook took this opportunity to slide his tongue into Yoongi’s mouth. The older finally responded to his kisses, guiding his hips and licking into Jungkook’s mouth with equal fervor. Yoongi bucked his hips up trying to get some more friction.

Then Seokjin’s shouting filled Yoongi’s head. Yoongi ripped himself from Jungkook. His eyes wide and confused. The rules, Yoongi almost broke the rules. Goddamn Jungkook and his fucking sexy ass self. Drawing his attention back to the doe-eyed boy, he could see the hurt developing on his face. Yoongi wanted to, oh did he want to, but he couldn’t.

“Jungkook what happened?? I see that your frustrated but-” Yoongi tried but was cut off.

“I am frustrated so let me finish,” Jungkook pouted, rolling his hips little to punctuate his point.

Yoongi quickly stilled them. Jungkook was dangerous. He gently pushed Jungkook off of him and onto his couch.

“Hey Jungkookie, let’s go out?” Yoongi smiled, showing all teeth and gums. Yoongi didn’t even give Jungkook a chance to respond and just pulled him out of the studio.

To Jungkook’s surprise they ended up at a beach. Jungkook loved the beach, it reminded him of his childhood. Yoongi however, didn’t care much for it especially in the middle of winter. So, why they ended up here, Jungkook wasn’t sure.

Yoongi stood there and stared out at the sea, before turning to Jungkook. He stepped over to fix his scarf and zip up his jacket.

“Hyung?” Jungkook questioned, head tilting.

“Jeon Jungkookie, we’re at the beach in the middle of winter, it’s just me and you,” Yoongi grabbed his hands, “So, let’s get rid of our frustrations, yeah?”

At first Jungkook was very confused and slightly worried for his Hyung’s wellbeing. Yoongi started to shout toward the sea. He complained about his job, and the annoying idols he had to write music for. He complained about deadlines, and how they were stifling his creative abilities.

He complained about anything and everything, and Jungkook could only sit there and watch. He could only watch, because never has he ever thought he would see his grumpy hyung go somewhere he doesn’t particularly like, in whether he hates, to shout at volumes he finds annoying.

But here he was with Jungkook shouting at the sea. Jungkook chuckled ready to stop the small man before someone call the cops when the next thing the man shouted stopped him.

“I hope Jeon Jungkookie can let go of all his worries and become happy!” Yoongi sighed and turned to Jungkook, his big gummy smile on display. For some reason to Jungkook the man looked so beautiful. Something about the man he’s known for years, seemed different.

Jungkook stepped closer to Yoongi and connected their lips. This kiss was different. It wasn’t lustful in nature, but held just as much passion. As they stood on the beach in the middle of winter, Jungkook couldn't help but feel warm. This person that was holding him so lovingly, had changed. He was gentler and warmer.

Jungkook couldn’t help but think, ‘what an affectionate kiss’

--

Jungkook was trying to get dressed as quickly as he could. Body turned away from his bed, because he knew if he looked at it he would give in and go back to bed. He couldn’t though, he promised Jimin.

For the past couple weeks Jimin had been trying to hang out with him, but Jungkook kept blowing him off. It wasn’t on purpose, like he’s expressed many times these past few days; midterms were killing him. So, Jungkook sucked it up and agreed to hang out, and the angel Jimin was decided to take pity on him. He decided they would just hang out at his house.

Jungkook chanced a look at his bed and almost gave in, but his phone went off. “Hyung I’m about to leave right now. I should be there in a few.” Jungkook hung up the phone. Looks like he’ll have to catch up on sleep another day, even though Sunday was the day he was supposed to sleep in.

Jimin was so kind. He ordered food for them and bought a bunch of snacks. He even had the game console setup already. Jungkook smiled when he saw his squishy friend standing there with the widest smile on his face. He quickly rid himself of his jacket and plopped himself on the couch. Jimin took no time in setting up the game, Mario Kart, for the both of them.

Jungkook was beating Jimin’s ass, but Jimin could care less. Not when the boy looked so happy. He loved seeing him like this; the way he bit his lip in concentration, or leaned far enough forward Jimin was actually worried he would fall off the couch, or the way his biceps would flex with the intensity he held the remote control.

Jimin could look at him all day. The round was over before he knew it and Jungkook relaxed back into the couch, reaching for his banana milk. Jimin liked him this way too, all soft and content. Jimin concluded he just liked Jungkook.

But there’s been something bugging him. “Kookie,” he called for the other’s attention. Jungkook looked over, still sipping on his milk. “Have… have you been ignoring me?” he could hardly be heard over the sounds of the game, but he felt anxious, he had to know.

But Jungkook heard, if his shocked expression was anything to go by. The boy quickly shook his head. “N-no hyung I would never,” he said almost as desperately as Jimin felt. “I was actually really busy, I had-” Jimin put his hand up to stop Jungkook’s frantic explanation.

Honestly, Jimin wanted to punch himself in the face. His intention was not to make the younger anxious or feel the need to explain himself to him. “I’m sorry Jungkook I didn’t- I mean you don’t owe me an explanation or anything. It’s not really any of my business.” Jimin tried to smile, but it felt forced.

Jungkook just kind of looked at him. Jimin couldn’t tell what he was thinking, but the silence made him nervous, so he felt the need to continue. “I was just worried you were avoiding me because… well you know.” Jimin could hardly get the words out. He felt scared. Jimin knew perfectly well that the relationship they shared, had been toxic. Not for him, but for Jungkook. Jimin knew perfectly well, that if it were not for Jungkook’s naturally kind and forgiving nature, he would have a restraining order against him.

When Jimin looked at Jungkook he expected a frown maybe even anger, but not a smile. Jungkook was always so unpredictable, it was probably why he always made Jimin so nervous. Even back then, Jimin remembered fearing that unpredictability, because it made him feel out of control. Now it intrigued Jimin .

Jungkook hadn’t expected for Jimin to bring up their past, for the simple fact that he never had. Now that he had, Jungkook was a little caught off guard. Unsure of how to respond, but the fact that Jimin seemed aware and ashamed made Jungkook happy.

Jimin’s case was different from his other exes. With Jimin he felt unsafe, even after they had broken up and Jimin came to him in tears asking for help. That unsafe feeling is to be expected when you leave a toxic relationship. Jungkook wasn’t really sure why he agreed to be friends with Jimin, because truthfully when he thinks back on it, it was a really naive decision.

Jungkook now thinks he doesn’t regret that decision. Jimin obviously had to get help, and Jungkook was happy he did. It was actually Jimin’s decision to stay away from Jungkook until he felt okay. The change was slow, but there. It was the subtle, little ways he would put his trust into Jungkook.

Much like now, Jimin took extra care to make sure Jungkook was never uncomfortable and never questioned him more than he should. When he felt he had, he would panic and apologise. Jungkook felt this affection fill him. Jimin has always been sweet, maybe a little overbearing, but so unbearably sweet. Jungkook could see how much he was trying and that’s all Jungkook could ever ask for. Jungkook no longer felt scared in Jimin’s presence or like he had to explain himself. He felt comfortable with the older boy.

So with sudden impulse, Jungkook leaned in and held Jimin terrified and anxious face in his hands. He gently pressed their lips together. It was warm and comforting. Filled with gentle affection. There wasn’t any movement just the simple press of Jimin’s soft, plush lips against Jungkook’s smaller ones. Even so, it was just as meaningful, if not more so than any passion fill makeout session.

Jungkook moved back just far enough for him to speak. “Jimin I would never avoid you like that, I understand your worry, but the past is the past. We can’t move forward if your stuck there.” Jungkook nuzzled Jimin’s forehead. “Don’t worry I feel like you deserved an explanation anyways, and Jimin you’re changing. I can see it.” Jungkook pulled away, flashing his bunny smile.

Jimin felt so warm and fuzzy. He couldn’t stop the tears that formed in his eyes. “C-can we kiss again?” Jungkook felt his heart swell with affection. He giggled at the miserable look on Jimin’s face.

Giving in Jungkook pulled the boy in for another tender kiss.

--

Jungkook felt like shit midterms were finally over, and Jungkook had all intentions to hibernate since he had no classes today. He also couldn’t help but think about the past couple of days. He spent everyday since Valentine’s day hanging out with his exes. Jungkook thought he really should just start referring to them as friends at this point.

“Am I a whore?” Jungkook questioned himself. He was snuggled in his bed on a Monday morning wondering if he was a hoe. Jungkook really needed sleep, but the thoughts kept flooding in. “No, I’ve never committed myself to anybody, and what’s a few kisses?” Jungkook dragged his hands over his face in frustration. Everyone knew he messed with Hoseok, and Jungkook is pretty sure everyone suspected him and Yoongi of fooling around. Jungkook didn’t know why he felt so weird about the whole thing.

Before he could delve deeper into his thoughts he heard a very familiar windshield wiper laugh. Jungkook groaned, snuggling deeper into his bed hoping he could become one with it. Seconds later Jin was bursting through his bedroom screaming something about not getting enough vitamin D.

Jungkook was not down, nope. He was not going to under any circumstances give into Seokjin. Jungkook was not beneath manipulating the man to get out of this. Years of practice as his lover had equipped him with all of his hyung’s weaknesses.

“Hyung please, I’m so tired. I just want to sleep.” Jungkook whined, pushing his head into his pillow. Jin couldn’t stand his whining and would usually give in. Jin also couldn’t take a sleepy Jungkook and would usually give in feeling too bad to wake the younger.

“Jungkook for the past couple weeks you’ve been cooped up in this room or he library. When’s the last time you’ve actually seen the sun?” Jungkook wasn’t looking at him but he practically see his hands on his hips.

“If you sleep now you’ll stay up all night playing video games, and then again complain how tired you are in the morning.” Jungkook was honestly surprised he hadn’t given in yet. He really just wanted to sleep all day. His exhaustion coupled with the growing pain in his left eye was contributing to his increased annoyance. Beside, he’s been out the past week, so he had no idea what Jin was talking about.

“Hyung I’m not leaving this bed so give up.” Jungkook’s sleep-addled brain wasn’t fit enough to realize that that was extremely disrespectful to his hyung.

Jin felt his eye twitch. He grabbed the edge of Jungkook’s blanket and ripped it off the boy. “Well frankly, I don’t care Jungkook. You look like an extra for a zombie movie and I haven't seen you in forever and I’m hungry.” Jungkook just stared at him in disbelief, “So, get dressed and hurry up.” Jin glared at him as he walked out of the room. “You have ten minutes” he added.

Jungkook just laid there in shock for a minute. Did Jin just get annoyed with him? Not wanting to anger the man Jungkook pulled himself out of bed and got ready. Jungkook barely got his shoes on before Jin was dragging him out the house. He heard Hoseok cackling in the kitchen.

“Where are we going?” Jungkook finally decided to ask, after a solid ten minutes of walking. Instead of a response Jin just smiled at him. Jungkook sighed and kept quiet for the remainder of the walk. Jin was right now that he thought about it. Beside going out with the others he hadn’t really been out. The beach with Yoongi, but it was only for thirty minutes and he was so absorbed in Yoongi he didn’t even have a chance to enjoy the beach. With the others he stayed inside.

Jungkook recognized it from a block away. He turned to Jin in disbelief. The two hadn’t been there since they were together. Jin grabbed Jungkook’s hand and dragged him in and sat them in the corner of the cozy little cafe.

Jin ordered them drink and cake. “There’s this cake I really wanna try,” Jin spoke for the first time. Jungkook just shrugged letting him pick whatever he wanted.

Jungkook felt a little nervous. Which was completely ridiculous since he saw Jin at least once a week. Somehow this felt different from when Jin came over to make him food.

The drinks and cake came and they started to eat. Jin started to complain about work and his annoying coworkers. Jin was an office worker trying to work his way up. Jungkook knew he would be there in no time with how charming he was.

Half way through the conversation Jungkook realized, he’s never really heard Jin complain about anything. In all the time they were together not one had Jin ever told him stories like this. Suddenly Jungkook was much more invested in Jin’s stories.

The waiter from before suddenly came to the table asking if they needed anything else. Jungkook was confused at first cause, one this was a cafe, two you order at the front. Then a light bulb went off in Jungkook’s head. The man was flirting with Jin.

He kept asking all these questions, but he wasn’t getting much of a response. Jin was giving him one worded responses and was acting generally disinterested. Jungkook tried to hold back the laugh threatening to burst out.

The poor man finally gave up. Jungkook kinda felt bad for the man. Who could blame him though, Jin was gorgeous. Jungkook noticed that too, how confident Jin was.

“Hyung! He was trying to get some,” Jungkook giggled into his fist.

The other man scoffed, “Yeah right, he’s gonna have to work much harder if he wants any of this.” He at his body up and down. Jungkook dissolved into another fit of giggles. “Besides, I already have my eye on someone else.” Jin looked directly into his eyes, with a small smirk.

Jungkook coughed, quickly picking up his drink to distract himself. Yeah, Jin was definitely more confident.

They got back to their conversation, and Jungkook had to admit he was really enjoying himself. It was different. Normally with Jin, Jungkook felt like their conversations were one sided. Jin was constantly trying to match him. Only talking about things that Jungkook enjoyed and found interesting.

Now Jungkook was getting to see a new side of Jin. He getting to hear about the things that moved Jin, the things that made his eyes sparkle.

The drinks were empty and the cake devoured. The bill came and Jungkook reached for it, but Jin snatched it away. Jungkook deflated and glared at Jin. Said man simply laughed, “Hey I’m the one who invited you out,” he defended, “Beside you’ll take the next one right?” Jin winked.

Jungkook drew back. This Jin was a lot, in a different, but good way. He could only nod dumbly in response.

Jin stretched once they exited the cafe. “That was nice let’s walk around a little, you look so pale.” Jungkook frowned, but complied. They spent a majority of their time looking window shopping. There were a lot more odd shops than Jungkook thought.

They somehow made it to a small park. Jin grabbed Jungkook’s swing and walked toward the swing set with determination. “I miss hanging out like this with you.” Jin gently pushed himself on the swing.

Jungkook thought he kind of looked nice like this. The late afternoon sun lighting up his skin and the breeze tousling his hair. “Me too, sorry I’ve been so busy.” Jungkook started to swing his legs.

“It’s fine beside you owe me right?” Jin smiled, gently. Jungkook felt content. This morning, all he wanted to do was sleep. Now, he was at a random park swinging with his ex. Jungkook doesn’t regret going out with Jin.

This Jin who’s confident, who speaks his mind, who makes Jungkook feel content. Jungkook didn’t feel burdened by the Jin who tried so hard to make him happy to the point he disregarded his own feelings. Jin had his own feelings and needs and he was finally making them known.

Jungkook wasn’t quick enough to register the next couple of seconds. Jin grasped Jungkook’s swing and pulled him closer. Jin captured his lips. Jungkook was so shocked, he just sat there for a few second before his brain finally caught up.

When it did Jungkook felt himself melt into the kiss. Jin’s hand traveled behind his neck bringing him closer to deepen the kiss. Jin’s lips were so thick and soft, Jungkook couldn’t help but get lost in them. Jin slid his tongue against Jungkook’s own, making him moan.

Jungkook wasn’t sure how long they stayed like that, but his lungs were starting to burn. Jin must have been on the same boat because he was pulling away, only a string of saliva still connecting them.

Jungkook felt dazed and a little breathless. It must have shown on his face cause Jin started laughing. He stood up offering a hand to Jungkook.

“Let’s get you home. I’ll cook dinner and get you to sleep at a normal time.” Jungkook still felt all fuzzy and warm.

He wasn’t expecting to get such a breathtaking kiss.

“Hobi hyung, do you think I’m a hoe?” Hoseok couldn’t suppress the surprised laugh that tumbled out of him. Jungkook sounded completely serious, but it didn’t stop Hoseok from cackling until Jungkook hit him in the chest.

“Ow! Okay, okay…” Hoseok put his hands up, “No Jungkook you are not a hoe, trust me.” Hoseok sighed, rubbing his chest. The two were currently snuggled together on their couch watching dramas. Jungkook had just came back from class looking completely beat. Hoseok took pity on him and decided they would hang out at home.

“We haven’t been together in a while,” Hoseok whispered, eyes downcast.

Jungkook laughed, “What are you talking about? We live together hyung.”

“Uh no that’s not what- I meant…” Hoseok trailed off. Finally looking at Jungkook hoping he caught on. Jungkook sat there in silence for a second before his eyes lit up in understanding. His mouth making an ‘O’ shape.

“Ah no, I was just wondering if I had done something or maybe you found someone else- eh.” Hoseok cut himself off. He was rambling, and it was because of how damn nervous he felt. He was the last one, but he felt like he was already losing even though he had the rest of the day. Jungkook had been walking around in a daze, asking if he was a hoe. That had to mean the others had affected Jungkook.

Jungkook shifted, “No I haven’t found anyone and no you haven’t done anything, relax,” He chuckled. “I’ve just been studying and shit, and I’ve been hanging with the other guys recently,” he confessed.

Hoseok nodded. He knew that, he just felt so insecure suddenly. Jungkook and Hoseok have been best friends for ages. He was scared that’s all Jungkook would ever see him as. “Uh did you wanna?” Jungkook pointed to his bedroom, looking a little flushed. They only really did it when they were drunk out of their minds, or one of them was seriously stressed.

Hoseok sighed. Had it been any other day Hoseok would have jumped at the opportunity, but this was not any other day. “No, not really. I just wanna hang out… the two of us.” he looked away. “I miss you,” he admitted.

“Okay well we have the rest of the afternoon and evening. So, let's spend the whole day together.” Jungkook said without missing a beat. Hoseok’s heart might have exploded if he didn’t quickly look away from the boy’s cute smile.

“Let’s make dinner? It’s been awhile.” Hoseok suggested. Hoseok walked over to their fridge. He quickly realized it was completely empty, save for some moldy cheese.

“Ew hobi, throw that away,” Jungkook gagged. Hoseok smirked before stalking toward to Jungkook with the moldy cheese. Jungkook was quick to raise from the couch, but got tangled in the blankets, and was even quicker to end up on the floor. Hoseok took the opportunity to pin the younger down. Discarding the cheese in favor of pressing his fingers into Jungkook’s sculpted stomach.

Hoseok continued his tickle attack, until Jungkook begged for mercy. Hoseok took pity on him and let the younger go. Jungkook stayed on the floor trying to recover, while Hoseok bagged the foul smelling cheese.

With a significantly calmer Jungkook and stinky trash, the two headed out to the market. Finally at the market. The two roommates spent a good twenty minutes just trying to figure out what they wanted to make. Jungkook wanted something hearty and meaty, while Hoseok wanted something more light.

Jungkook being Hoseok’s one weakness, gave into Jungkook. “Thank you hyung.” Jungkook pecked the other’s nose, to make him feel better. Instead of making him feel better, Hoseok felt like he was dying.

“Aw! How cute. You guys make a cute couple,” Some random girl next to them commented, “I wish my boyfriend was that considerate,” she sighed. She smiled at them and waved bye, disappearing into another aisle.

Both boys were shocked silent, but one look at each other had them buckling over in laughter. They couldn’t even deny it.

They immediately started cooking the minute they stepped into the apartment. “That's too much Kookie!” Hoseok quickly snatch the salt away from the raven haired boy. “Add some water to balance it out.”

Jungkook was having so much fun. They honestly hadn’t cooked in forever, or even hung out. Jungkook couldn’t help but enjoy it. His thoughts wandered to the girl from earlier. “Hey Hobi, about that girl.” Jungkook stopped when he caught sight of his friend.

The boy was mixing the sauce, and somehow got it slathered on his cheek. Jungkook could only laugh, grabbing a wet napkin to clean him. He gently wiped Hoseok’s cheek. The position was oddly intimate. They were close enough that he could see the little mole on his lip and the one on his cheek. Jungkook and Hoseok had sex frequently and sure they got close then, but this was-

“This is kinda domestic huh?” the older laughed, “No wonder that girl thought we were together.”

Jungkook quickly finished wiping his cheek and stepped back. He occupied himself with cutting vegetables. Suddenly, Jungkook felt hyper aware of the older. When he shifted behind Jungkook, it made him jolt forward causing the knife in his hand to slide right across his thumb. Jungkook dropped the knife, hissing in pain.

“Oh shit! You’re bleeding,” Hoseok shrieked. Jungkook went to leave, but Hoseok stopped him. “No let me.” He ran Jungkook’s thumb under some warm water. “Wait here”

Hoseok came back with a band aid and disinfectant spray. “This is gonna sting a little,” he warned. Jungkook tried to pull his thumb away, but Hoseok held him in place. Wagging his finger in disapproval.

He placed the band aid on and pecked Jungkook’s injured thumb. Jungkook gasped and stepped back. “So it’ll get better faster,” Hoseok giggled.

Hoseok grabbed his hand, and peck his thumb once again. This time Jungkook didn’t pull away. Instead he watched him.

Hoseok closed his eyes and kissed Jungkook’s palm. Jungkook felt his neck heating up. The older opened his eyes and pulled his younger roommate closer, placing a feather light kiss on his shoulder. Then his neck, his jaw.

Jungkook let his eyes close, but opened them again when he felt no movement. Hoseok was staring directly into his eyes. Jungkook wasn’t sure who leaned in first.

Their lips moved in sync, so familiar with each other. It was warm and languid. Hoseok took his time exploring Jungkook’s mouth. Despite having done this so many times before, it felt new.

Jungkook and Hoseok were those friends that have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. They knew each other inside and out. Jungkook thought their relationship didn’t work out, because they knew so much about each other. There was nothing more to discover.

This kiss was new though. The whole day was new. Hoseok was showing him a new side. A side where Jungkook was something more than a best friend or friends with benefits. Jungkook felt heat and sparks. Something they were missing when they were together.

The way Hoseok was holding him, like he didn’t want to lose him. The way he kissed him, as if to tell him ‘you’re mine.’ Jungkook let himself drown in the emotions Hoseok was feeding him. Their kisses were always lust driven, but this kiss was full of feeling.

Jungkook realized that, that’s what they were missing; feelings. Hoseok and Jungkook’s relationship never contained those heart fluttering feelings. Right now though, Hoseok was pouring his feelings into Jungkook any maybe he has been.

Jungkook remembers the flowers Hoseok would show up with, claiming they were to spruce up the house. The times he would curl up next to Jungkook and hold him, like he was the most precious thing in the world. Hoseok had been slowly changing their relationship. Jungkook was just blind.

Hoseok pulled away, but didn’t let him go. Jungkook could see the pool of emotions swimming in his dark eyes. If he looked close enough, he thinks he could see love there.

“We should probably finish dinner,” hoseok sighed, his breath a little ragged.

Jungkook nodded, but before he could continue cooking Hoseok dove in for one last kiss.

This wasn’t a kiss with no feelings, or even a kiss filled with lust. It was a kiss filled with love.

A romantic kiss.

It was deja vu. It’s been exactly a week since Valentine’s day, and Yugyeom finds himself in a very familiar situation. Yugyeom and Jungkook are sitting in the same cafe, talking about Jungkook’s love life.

“Yugyeom, I’m a whore.” Jungkook stated. It was almost ridiculous how many times he’s said this exact thing in the past week.

“What?” Yugyeom deadpanned. At this point Yugyeom couldn’t even muster a better reaction. Not after he learned of his friend’s crazy love life, and that he was still in touch with all of his exes. It really threw Yugyeom for a loop.

“I don’t know what's going on, but please help me.” Jungkook pleaded, dropping his head on the table.

Yugyeom thought this whole situation was absolutely insane, but he listened to his friend’s worries. Just like a week ago he, Jungkook took his time to explain the past week to Yugyeom.

“So… you have feelings for all of them?” Yugyeom questioned slowly. Jungkook looked about two seconds from ripping his hair out.

“I-I don’t know! I want to cry,” Jungkook cried out. Yugyeom was worried the boy would be bald, if he kept pulling at his hair like that. Before Yugyeom could console the stressed boy, he saw six very familiar figure walk through the cafe door.

“You gotta be kidding me,” Yugyeom exasperated. Jungkook followed Yugyeom’s line of vision. His already big eyes, doubling in size. It really was deja vu.

“What the hell?!” Jungkook shouted, grabbing the attention of the other customers.

“Relax we’ve come to talk.” Jin explained. Yugyeom and Jungkook exchanged looks. Both highly confused, and slightly uncomfortable.

“Well maybe I should-” Yugyeom went to get up, but Jungkook pulled him back into his seat. “Jeon Jungkookie, you guys need to talk.,” Yugyeom’s voice was stern. He pried Jungkook’s hands off his coat. He waved goodbye to the others and mouthed ‘goodluck’ to Jungkook.

Jungkook knew he was gonna need it. “So we wanted to talk about the past week,” Namjoon spoke. They all took a seat, dragging chairs to the table. Jungkook suddenly felt very nervous.

“As you know we’ve all been hanging out with you.” Namjoon continued, “It started off with me and ended with Hoseok.”

“Wait how do you-” Yoongi raised his hand to stop him. “Let us explain before you ask questions.”

Jungkook sat there quietly taking everything in. The plan and the rules. Jungkook understood that much. He just didn’t know how to respond. Now it was his turn to speak, but as they all sat there waiting for him. The more he didn’t know what to say.

“So, this was all just a game?” Jungkook could feel the hurt creeping in.

The response was immediate. A collaboration of desperate no’s filled the space between them.

“We decided to do this because we all wanted a fair chance. I mean we’re all friends here” Hoseok tried to explain.

“But we all still have feelings for you,” Jimin finished.

“Okay I understand that, but did you think what position this would put me in?” Jungkook cried, “You expect me to choose?!” His voice was getting louder.

“Jungkook we already decided there would be no hard feeling between us.” Namjoon reached over to calm him.

“You don’t understand!” Jungkook slapped his hand away. They were starting to attract attention.

“You’re stupid little plan worked, but it worked too good.” Jungkook sighed.

“What do you mean?” Taehyung questioned, worry in his tone.

“I have feelings for all of you!” Jungkook finally let out, dropping his head in his palms. There was complete silence. No one knew what to say. They couldn’t even take their eyes off the boy.

“So…” Jungkook raised his head, lashes wet with unshed tears, “the answer is none of you, because that's less painful than choosing one.”

He looked the all in the eye. They all still seemed too shocked to answer. “Besides, this is the first time I’ve been alone in a long time. So, I think this is the perfect opportunity to figure myself out and these feelings.”

The others exchanged glances, confirming what they were all thinking. “Then we’ll wait for you,” Namjoon assured. The other nodding along.

“I can’t make you wait for me, and I don’t even know if I will ever be able to choose one. Don’t you get that I might be in love with all of you? Doesn’t that anger you?” Jungkook exclaimed.

“No, it doesn’t actually?” Namjoon responded, his voice full of confusion. Jungkook looked at the rest and they seemed to be having the same dilemma.

“I think I have a solution to our problem.” Jimin raised his hand. All eyes on him.

“Why don’t we all go out with him?”

Notes:

Okay so as you can see it's open ended. Yes there will will be a part three. Partially why this took so long is because I know many people wanted ot7 (so did I). But I couldn't just go straight into some ot7 action from the last story. I needed a buffer. So, this is the part before the real ot7 happens.

I hope you enjoyed it and please give me feedback i really want to know what you guys think.
