Work Text:
His smell was intoxicating, the aroma of the outside grass the other had been rolling in, was breathed in again and again by Jeongguk. He held onto the boy, his hands locked to the others lips as he tilted his head up, for the other to kiss more firmly, more with passion.
But he was told he couldn’t have him.
Of course, Jeongguk had him anyway, pressing his lips on the other once again, after separation for air. The other had climbed onto his lap by now, supporting himself with his legs, not to actually be sitting on Jeongguk, but still to have his lips locked with the younger.
He breathed the older male in again, wanting to savour everything he knew and felt about this boy, until the next time they meet.
He murmured his name. “Taehyung,” the prince said.
Taehyung hummed and trailed his hand over Jeongguk’s neck, eyeing the exposed flesh when the prince moves to give him better access.
“Taehyung,” he repeated the name again, only with more passion and more emotion.
“What is it Guk?” the older boy asked, finally latching himself on the prince’s neck, licking and nipping at the soft skin.
“You’re beautiful Tae,” the younger choked out, suddenly very preoccupied with stopping his eyes from rolling to the back of his head. He had forgotten what he was going to say, the desire to praise the other grows each day, because to Jeongguk, there has never been a more beautiful, more complete person to love.
Taehyung made a noise in response, much like he was trying to say, ‘mhm’. The older continued to kiss Jeongguk, giving light pecks along the younger’s jaw, until Jeongguk reached an urge to pull the other back into a strong kiss.
Jeongguk pulled the other boy into his lap, as he tries to shuffle them further onto his bed, the silk cover making it extremely difficult.
Taehyung’s hands wandered around until both were tightly locked around the younger’s neck (not tightly of course), and Jeongguk’s hands stayed on the boy’s hips, trying to push the other closer (it was possible).
Taehyung voiced a groan, which only made the prince hold him more firmly, and kiss with more need.
“Guk- ngh-” the older boy began, just as Jeongguk slid a hand up to pull Taehyung’s hair to deepen the kiss. “Gukkie, we can’t- not now,”
From Taehyung’s tone, the cogs in Jeongguk’s mind spun, and he knew that the older was anxious of the time, nearing closer and closer to dinnertime - where Jeongguk should head down to the dining hall and where Taehyung should be either serving the royal family or helping in the kitchen.
Jeongguk snuck Taehyung out for the day.
“Jeonggukkie, seriously- I need to get down and get changed and- ah- serve you and your family,” Taehyung gasped out, as Jeongguk ignored his first statements and dived to the other’s neck.
“You can serve me just fine here,” Jeongguk replied slyly, trying to drag out as much time as he could with Taehyung.
Jeongguk latched his lips on the other’s again, kissing ferociously, that the younger swears he heard a groan slip out. He went back to working on Taehyung’s neck, sucking to make hickey - he loves to mark him up, leaving some guests clueless and confused, like when there was a particularly dark one and the king himself asked what had happened.
That was still a fun memory to look back at.
“Jeez, Guk,” sighed the other boy, carefully breathing in and out. “I need to go to work now, Jimin can only work my shifts for so long, you’ve got visitors today,”
“Don’t remind me, I think they’re here to talk about a treaty,” grumbled the prince, pressing feather-light kisses around Taehyung’s face. “You have to take Jimin’s shifts, when Yoongi hyung wants to sneak him out,” he countered.
“Yeah, but Yoongi hyung gets Jimin back in an hour before dinner so he can get ready - and don’t been rude to Jimin he’s your hyung too!” Taehyung defends his best friend and pushes Jeongguk onto his bed, hovering over the other.
“Yoongi hyung doesn’t understand how to spend quality time - and anyways, I’m a prince, technically - Jimin is below me,” Jeongguk said offhandedly.
The older sighed, and lightly shook his head disapprovingly at the other.
“Jeonggukkie, what have I taught you about giving respect to all? What you mean is, Yoongi hyung respects that Jimin has work to do,” the other makes a ‘tut tut’ sound, and collapses on top of the other, hand curling around his waist.
“I know- ah, I know - I’m sorry. Being a prince kinda sucks doesn’t it? It gets to my head, people have been below me all the time- and- I just kinda wish I wasn’t a prince sometimes y’know?” the younger exhaled, threading his hand lightly through the other’s hair.
“I wouldn’t know, I’m merely a kitchen worker,” the other said, tightening his hold on the prince.
It was true, as Taehyung barely got to employment in the kitchens, as his eccentric personality turned him away from being hired, even though the boy originally applied as Jeongguk’s personal assistant (the prince was glad that his mother finally listened to him about not having one, after a snarky male became his PA for a week).
Taehyung had barely even got to working in the kitchens, otherwise he wouldn’t have been able to support his family - it was by Jimin’s vouch for the boy that secured his position - and they thought he’d be a good, pliant waiter for the royal family.
Jeongguk sat up suddenly, and Taehyung followed in suit, curious and a little confused of the other’s sudden actions. The prince stood up and tucked his shirt in properly, as it had come out from their kissing and their fun in the palace gardens that morning, of running about and lying in the grass. He reminisced about those moments, where they had laid down on the cleanly cut meadow, with the sun beating down on their sweaty bodies, and their laughter echoing sweetly in each other’s ears.
How much he wanted Taehyung, was impossible to even begin to draft out.
“Taehyung. I wish it was all different,” Jeongguk whispered, cupping the boy’s cheeks, tilting them up and pressing a lingering kiss on the plump lips. “I wish I didn’t have to sneak you out to kiss you, to hold you like this,” the boy pressed another kiss. “I wish that me and you, and Yoongi hyung and Jimin hyung, could all go out together and maybe go on one of those fabled double dates that you said you went on,”
There was a pause. Then-
“Oh my God, for the last time, Baekhyun hyung and Chanyeol hyung weren’t going out back then. I was like, what? 14 year old - and neither was I dating Hoseok hyung!” the older boy said, hitting (more like tapping) the other’s side.
Jeongguk let out a laugh, as he looked fondly back at Taehyung who still sat and the edge of his bed.
“But seriously,” the prince changed his tone of voice, into a softer, more endearing tone. “I want to have you all the time- God, do you understand how difficult it is, not to just kiss when your serving me? God, you look amazing in a vest have I ever told you? I don’t want you to serve me, nor do I want Jimin hyung to. I want to have him, and Yoongi hyung as friends, even though Yoongi works as my damned councillor on finding a girl to date, when I don’t want to date a girl!”
Jeongguk got progressively more annoyed the more he spoke, balling his fists in anger. The older boy whispered words of calming down, and Jeongguk exhaled deeply.
“God- I just want to live a life, where I’m not being constantly harassed for being a prince, and where I can have actual friends, and not people who are bound to serve me and my family, and-” Jeongguk continued.
“I just want you hyung. I want to love you freely, and love you unconditionally, and all those other sappy things that I can’t quite say right now, because I’m so messed up in my thoughts,”. The older said nothing, he just merely looked up.
“I want you Taehyung, is it too much to ask for?” Jeongguk finished lamely, letting his hands flop to his sides, wanting nothing more, but this burden to leave him be.
“Jeongguk, you have me. I’m yours, and you’re mine,” the older muttered, standing up to be closer to his lover. He pecked his boyfriend, kissing him softly on the lips. “Oh, and that was hella cheesy by the way,” he added, breaking out his oh so iconic boxy grin.
“Now, I really need to get to the kitchens now, Seokjin hyung would kill me if I don’t get there soon,” Taehyung said, hugging his significant other. His hands wove around the younger’s figure, one hand going up to casually touch the nape of his neck, pinching the soft skin and fingers just long enough to touch the other’s hair.
“Ah, Jin hyung loves us both, he’d be fine with it,” Jeongguk teased, whilst letting go of the hug and picking up his blazer he discarded upon walking through the doors.
Taehyung hummed, and said something about the prince going first to check for any bystanders, and once Jeongguk had checked, Taehyung was speeding off to the kitchens to help final preparations of tonight’s meal.
Jeongguk remembered Taehyung’s words, just a couple seconds ago.
”I’ll try and sneak here tonight maybe? Just so I can spend time with you?” the boy fidgeted nervously.
“Don’t worry about it, I’ll get you from the kitchens tonight, wait for me next to the wine cellar, I can pretend I wanted to get drunk or something, they won’t question it,” Jeongguk replied, sticking his head out to view the outside of his room.
“Don’t actually get drunk ok? I won’t give you a load of alcohol tonight,” Taehyung grinned, once again pulling out his boxy smile.
“You can give me loads of something else tonight,” the younger grinned back, raising his eyebrows.
Suddenly, Taehyung choked on his own saliva and began coughing.
The prince’s grin grew even wider. “I meant your time you dirty minded idiot. My idiot,” he adds, reinforcing that they were each others, only each others.
Taehyung straightened himself up again, face hued with red, and Jeongguk saw a gulp from the other.
“Aish, you know what you were implying Jeongguk. Come on now, I need to go,”
Jeongguk knew, that as a prince, he had a duty to his kingdom. Whatever that meant to him. He knew, that he would eventually have to marry someone, and have to rule the kingdom, making decisions and keeping the place up and running.
But Jeongguk also knew, that Taehyung was going to be there, either by his side or still in the kitchens, Jeongguk knew, that with all the certainty that he could muster, he knew that he loved the boy, regardless of his status, regardless of what others think.
Jeongguk loved Taehyung, and wished for nothing but a life filled, of Taehyung.
