Warmth

Summary:

Ishikirimaru's voice came from behind Kashuu. "Pardon me, Kiyomitsu, is Nikkari there?"

"Yeah, he's under the kotatsu and I can't get him out."

Work Text:

"Aoe, get out of there!"

"But it's warm..." The green-haired man lazily groaned his reply.

Let's set the scene. It was winter and cold. Nikkari was under the kotatsu in Kasen's room. He was hiding under the table itself. The table was larger and higher than the average kotatsu so that larger swords could sit under it comfortably.

Kasen had left a while before, annoyed by his visitor but knowing the unwanted roommate wouldn't do anything to his room besides hide under the table. Along came Kashuu, with cold feet, hoping to warm up without Kasen knowing he had been there.

Imagine Kashuu's shock at feeling a mass of flesh under the table push his legs back out.

Now, back to the issue at hand; how could he get the catlike wakizashi out from under the table?

"Aoe, you'll die from heat exhaustion if you stay under there," Kashuu almost pleaded.

"Then I will have lived well."

"I swear, if you don't-"

Ishikirimaru's voice came from behind Kashuu. "Pardon me, Kiyomitsu, is Nikkari there?"

"Yeah, he's under the kotatsu and I can't get him out."

"It's nice and warm..." was Nikkari's response.

"I see. Then I suppose it can't be helped. Dinner's ready, but if Aoe doesn't feel like leaving, I suppose he'll miss out on it."

"Eh? What's for dinner?" Kashuu asked.

"Udon."

Almost in a blink of an eye, Nikkari's head emerged from the depths of the blanket.

"Is that so... Can you bring it to me?"

"Absolutely not." Cutting in was Kasen, who crossed his arms. "What are all of you doing in here in the first place? I suggest you all leave. That includes you, ghost-murderer."

"Fine..." Nikkari slowly crawled out from under the kotatsu, and followed the others out.

Kasen shut the door, and left to eat with the others after unplugging the source of his troubles. This kotatsu was more trouble than he thought it would be.

As he drank tea with his legs under it later, he realized it was worth it.
