Sometimes when Jeongguk wakes up to find that one (or neither) of his boyfriends aren't in bed with him, he panics.
But, it's a minor panic. Not something huge. Just, a panic really.
And he knows that it stems from his own abandonment issues, from his own low self-esteem, but he also knows that some of it stems from Namjoon and Hoseok already having been established as a couple when Jeongguk met them. He was the addition, their number three.
(He also knows that both men agonized over how to get him to join them without freaking him out or scaring him away, but his brain overlooks how much work they put into it often enough that he regularly forgets now.)
Jeongguk was the newcomer, their unexpected third player and sometimes it's hard to forget that relationships are only accepted when it's a two-player team. Namjoon is the one who often worries about other people's reactions when they all go out together and Hoseok is usually the one reminding him that he isn't supposed to care because they are happy and their relationship is their own business, not other people's.
It's still hard though. Jeongguk knows that his boyfriends have guessed already about his morning reactions when one or both of them is missing, but they haven't said anything because they want Jeongguk to talk to them about it when he's ready. He still panics and he has an idea about why exactly, but Jeongguk has never liked pushing his problems onto others and it's a habit that all his closest friends have done their best to break him out of.
(It hasn't worked so far, but that's only because Jeongguk grows too embarrassed to continue most of the time and so he sticks to looking mortified as he blushes and eventually his friends will stop. Not the best solution, but it works.)
Now though, when he wakes up to familiar arms encasing him in their embrace, he can't say that he isn't happy. Because he is, but he's more content really. It's peaceful waking up to the feeling of being held by the two people you cherish most in the world.
It's warm too and it's all very soft and it makes Jeongguk fall even more and more in love with Hoseok and Namjoon each and every time.
They're his comfort and his favorite pillows, but they're also his favorite people and he'll take the minor morning panics if he can have this too.
