Jimin stole a glance for the umpteenth time. He just couldn’t get his eyes off the boy whose brown sandy hair was tousled in a surprisingly messy but pleasing way. His slender legs sprawled in an unbothered manner, his head laying still onto Jimin’s lap.
They’ve been in the position for hours, yet Jimin never wanted it to end. It was peaceful, the way Jeongguk’s hand had find a way into Jimin’s, tangling their fingers together. Jimin loved the sensation of Jeongguk’s bare skin, soft and pure from the baby lotion routine he stubbornly did every day. He secretly enjoyed the way Jeongguk drew tantalizing circles across his palm, his defined nails grazing Jimin’s milky skin.
He liked watching Jeongguk’s expression softened everytime he’s asleep like this. He loved how the maknae’s bunny teeth will peek from his undeniably gorgeous lips, like it’s asking Jimin for a peck on the mouth (which, in this case, he’ll accept happily anyway). He was always amazed by Jeongguk’s refined complexion, his sharp nose accompanied by a pair of killer eyes that is proven guilty for killing Park Jimin, prince of Busan.
Oh, those eyes. They were like keeping a thousand secrets, secrets only Jeongguk could have. Over the years, Jimin was actually worried he might never know the real Jeongguk. Fortunately, although the process is undeniably stupid, Jimin is now able to uncover Jeongguk little by little.
He was grateful that those eyes were closed for the moment. He admitted that he’ll never get used of Jeongguk gazing towards him, eyes full of contentment and love (and maybe, maybe just a tiny bit of lust). He’ll never get used of those deer-like eyes, sparkling and shimmering under the night sky adorning the balcony Jimin and Jeongguk used to share.
The balcony, of course, held a special place inside Jimin’s heart. About some years ago, he forgot exactly when, it was the place where he had recklessly, or rather unintentionally, confessed to the younger boy. After those cheesy words flowed from his little mouth, he had a mental breakdown. He had sobbed loudly when those unforgettable words made a way out of younger Jeongguk’s mouth.
“I’ve never thought my dreams will come true..”
He had held Jimin’s face, brushing his tears off Jimin’s rosy cheeks.
“You made me happy, Jimin-ah.”
Then the rest is history, the timeline’s blurring as time passes. Jimin could only register one more thing, the fraction of memory strong inside his head.
They shared their first kiss there, witnessed by the Lyra constellation, in which legends said that it was a bridge for Orihime, a sky princess, and her lover Hikoboshi, a mortal, to meet. Even though the two of them lived separately, they were still connected by the constellation. People said it was one of earth’s most beautiful star.
Jimin didn’t doubt it. He remembered it very vividly, how the starlight had shone above Jeongguk’s face, painting them so breathtakingly Jimin actually forgot how to breathe. He remembered Jeongguk’s timid first move, when he had slowly tilted his head as he progressed slowly towards Jimin. Jimin remembered Jeongguk’s expression, his brown orbs shining with a bit of excitement in them. He could almost feel Jeongguk’s cold skin brushing against his jawline, his bangs almost covering his half-closed eyes. He remembered how attracting Jeongguk’s lips was, glistening as if he’d coat it with liquid sugar.
So Jimin gave up. He closed the gap as he lowered his last defense, his plump lips fully attached on Jeongguk’s. He remembered it, how Jeongguk had sucked his lips, mouth opening and shutting as he tried to equate Jimin’s pace. How his hands had found a way around Jimin’s torso, hugging him like there’s no tomorrow.
Jimin had his eyes shut very tight, completely immersed in the way Jeongguk’s lips moved against his own. The boy tasted sweet, very sweet Jimin had craved for more. He unintentionally quickened the pace, pink lips pushing each other as they explored the new sensation they never felt before.
When they finally parted, Jimin was gasping for air. But he kept his proximity with Jeongguk, his nose was still touching the younger one.
“Jimin,” Jeongguk whispered in a hush, his tone was dropping dangerously low. Yet the boy kept an eye contact with him, as if he’s making sure that the older boy was alright.
Jimin didn’t dare to answer. He just stared back, completely drowned inside Jeongguk’s orbs.
“I’ve never felt so euphoric.” he whispered again, inching too close to Jimin his lips had subtly grazed Jimin’s own.
“Jeongguk,” this time, Jimin answered. He had his hands on the boy’s nape. He pushed his lips towards Jeongguk.
“Please, I-I need it again.” he said, almost pleading.
So all Jeongguk did was closing the gap..
“Hush, daydreaming about me again, don’t ya?”
Jimin yelped, obviously surprised by the mysterious voice. There, just above his thigh, laid a smirking Jeon Jeongguk.
Oh, Jimin forgot how cocky Jeongguk became these days.
“Shut your bratty mouth,” Jimin answered, making a patronizing tone he could ever use to Jeongguk. “I was just thinking.”
“Uhm, yeah,” Jeongguk cocked an eyebrow, clearly not having it. “Thinking about me, obviously.”
“Can you stop being so narcissistic?” Jimin scolded him, in a joking manner of course. “Get off me, my legs are sore.”
“Said the one who’s practically asking me to sleep on his thigh,” Jeongguk had a wide smile plastered on his face. “Come on, Jimin. You can never reject me.”
“I can’t hear anything.” Jimin pouted, refusing to look at Jeongguk.
“My Minnie,” Jeongguk suddenly cupped Jimin’s face. He loved how perfect Jimin’s little face fitted on his hands. “My Jimin-hyung.”
Jimin blushed, he fumbled against Jeongguk, avoiding any eye contact possible. He hated to admit it, but he can never say no to his dorky maknae, not when he was acting all-boyfie material like this.
“What do you want?” Jimin asked, hoping he sounded stern enough.
Jeongguk let out a heart-melting smile. “I want you.”
Jimin scrunched his nose. “Sap. Save the cheesy lines, Gguk.”
Jeongguk just rolled his eyes. He then grew serious, his breathtaking orbs turned a shade darker.
“Do you remember it? What I said about you making me so happy?”
Jimin simply nodded to this.
“Well,” Jeongguk shrugged, his hands were still cupping Jimin’s cheeks. “I take it back.”
Jimin’s mouth dropped in surprise, confusion rising inside him. When he was about to retort with a gruesome reply, Jeongguk immediately intervened him.
“You didn’t just make me happy, Jimin.” Jeongguk held Jimin’s chin so that the elder was looking at him directly in the eye.
“You’re the cause of my Euphoria.”
Jeongguk’s eyes turned crescent, wrinkles evident in the corner of his eyes. It was those signature eye smiles that made Jimin’s insides flutter, his heart beating a hundred times faster.
“Will you take my hands, hyung? If I ask for it, will you?” Jeongguk stared at him deeply, charm flooding over his eyes Jimin can’t help but stare back.
A smile began to spread over Jimin’s oval face. He reached out, taking Jeongguk’s fingers, holding it against his.
“Always, Jeongguk. Always.”
Jimin had always thought of Jeongguk’s eyes as an oasis, deep and calming. Sometimes it was the blue ocean, splashing away spirits and hopes.
This time, he saw it as his future.
