"Hey, Saiki? Do you want this chocolate jelly? I'm to full to eat it." Kaido said.
Saiki immediately perked up. "Huh? Thanks, Kaido!" Saiki said.
'I think this is the most enthusiastic I've ever seen him. It kind of. . .cute.' Kaido thought.
'He thinks I'm cute? Oh well. I'll think about that later. Coffee jelly is more important.'
Kaido handed Saiki a small hard plastic container filled with chocolate jelly and a plastic spoon.
'Its that expensive coffee jelly, the 3000 yen one. I've never liked Kaido more than I do right now.'
Saiki smiled and blushed slightly in satisfaction with the first bite.
"Wow, you must really like chocolate jelly." Kaido said.
'He's even more cute than before!'
"Yeah, its my favorite." Saiki said. 'No harm in telling him that.'
"Really? That's good to know." Kaido said. 'I'll bring him one tomorrow, too.'
'Kaido is quickly becoming my favorite person at school. Before it was anyone who left me alone, but if he keeps bringing me coffee jelly, that will change.'
The next day, Kaido offered him another coffee jelly. It was a cheaper brand this time, but Saiki can't really blame him. Who has the money to spend 3000 yen of coffee jelly everyday? Either way, coffee jelly is coffee jelly.
"Here, Saiki. You seemed to really enjoy it yesterday, so i brought you another one today."
"Thank you, Kaido." Saiki said with a smile.
'I spent a thousand yen of my allowance on coffee jelly. I bought enough to bring one a day to Saiki for two weeks. I'll get my next allowance in a week. I can keep this up for a while if i get to see Saiki smile like that' Kaido thought.
'He's going through a lot just to see me happy. It's nice.'
Kaido kept giving coffee jelly to Saiki for two weeks before something changed.
"Hey, Kaido? How come you keep giving Saiki those Coffee jellies?" Nendou asked.
"Because he likes them!" Kaido said a bright blush filling his face. 'Yeah, he does like them, but its really because I like him.' Kaido thought.
"Well I like them, too, and you don't bring me any. Wait, i know. . . " Nendou got a weird look on his face. "Do you like Saiki, Kaido?"
"W-wh-what?" Kaido said.
"You do! You like, Saiki!"
'Great. Now I have to acknowledge his feelings. I do return them, but it would be a hassle to be in a relationship.'
"Huh?" Teruhashi said. "Kaido likes Saiki?"
'As if Saiki would like him back. I feel bad for him, but, with me around, how could Saiki like him back? After all, i am the perfect pretty girl.'
'Everyone is going to think that about Kaido if i reject him. It kind of hurts just thinking about turning him down. He would stop bringing me coffee jellies. The pros of a relationship with Kaido are starting to outweigh the cons. Maybe I should just go for it.'
Kaido was standing off the the side. Nendou, Terahashi, and a few others standing around him.
"So do you really like Saiki?"
"Why? He's kind of average."
"I guess he's sort of cute, but if you like guys there are a lot cuter guys out there."
Kaido's face was flushed bright red. "S-so what if i do like Saiki?"
A few girls let out soft 'aww' noises.
Yumihara and Teruhashi had murderous looks on their face.
Saiki walked up to Kaido and pulled on his sleeve to get his attention. Kaido turned to face Saiki with a flushed face. "D-did you hear that, Saiki?"
"I like you, too, Kaido."
"R-really?"
"Yeah."
"Then, w-will you go on a date with me?"
"Yeah. I'm free after school today. You can choose the place. I'll pick you up from your house at five and then we'll go, okay?" Saiki said. 'If I don't like the place he chooses, I'll just use my psychic powers to change his mind.'
"Y-yeah, that sounds great." Kaido looked like he was ready to pass out in shock as he said it.
After school, Kaido went home in a frenzy.
"Oh, is my baby boy home? Why don't you get started on studying and I'll make you a snack?"
"Sorry, Mama, but can I study later? I have a date." Kaido seemed to shrink down as he said this.
"A date? Why didn't I meet them before you set this up?" His mother had a scary looking face. "Dates are just distractions. You won't be able to get into a good college like that. Call them and cancel or I will."
"You have met him, Mama. He's the pink haired boy you invited over when you saw us together. He just asked me out today and I really like him."
"The pink haired genius boy you had over?! Of course I remember him. Why didn't you say so? Have fun on your date!"
"Thanks, Mama." Kaido still had a scared look on his face as he walked upstairs to get changed.
He ended up wearing a dark blue button down, black slacks, and black shoes.
'I wonder where Saiki wants to go. He said for me to choose, but i dont know if my super secret base is a good place to bring a date. He really likes coffee jelly. What else does he like?' Suddenly the memory of Saiki saying he liked Kaido popped in his head. Kaido blushed and failed a bit.'okay, so he likes coffee jelly and he likes me. I think he likes games and anime. He likes to watch TV, too. He always seems so bored! Nothing ever seems to phase him! Nothing except for coffee jelly. . . I could bring him to a cafe, but isn't that kind of cliche? He likes me and coffee jelly, so i could make some bentos and bring some coffee jelly with us and we could go on a picnic out in the forest! That's perfect!' Kaido thought. Its already four twenty, so he needs to hurry.
At exactly 4:52,Kaido had two perfect bentos, two coffee jellies, a thermos of tea, cups, plates, silverware, and a blanket in a nice little picnic basket his mom had in the attic.
'A picnic, huh? That sounds nice. I honestly expected to be brought to his secret base or something like that.' Saiki thought as he reached the gate of Kaido's house and rang the bell.
Saiki is wearing khaki pants, a green button down, and brown shoes.
Kaido opened the door with a nervous look on his face. "H-hey, Saiki. Are you ready for our date?"
'Oh, wow! He's so handsome! Did he dress up just to come see me?' Kaido thought
'of course I did, idiot. Its a date.'
They were walking for a while before Saiki noticed something wrong. Kaido hadn't mentioned being a superhero or the Dark Reunion for a little while.
"Hey, Kaido?"
"What is it, Saiki?" Kaido said with a smile.
"Why haven't you been mentioning the Jet Black Wings or Dark Reunion? You haven't mentioned them this whole date."
"I'd rather focus on you!"
Kaido's voice went up at the end, and he was thinking something different. 'Everyone seems to find me annoying when I talk about that. I don't want to annoy Saiki. I really like him.'
"Stop that!" Saiki said. "I want you to be yourself around me and being the Jet Black Wings is part of being you, Kaido. I asked you on a date, not whoever you think I want to be with. "
"Really? You really like me for me?" Kaido said, a blush and a happy smile on his face. 'No one has ever said that before. Even my mom constantly tells me to stop messing around and to study.'
"Yes, Kaido. Now, you seemed off about this picnic. Are you just doing it for me? I told you, you can pick what we're doing, so pick where you want to go." Saiki said.
"W-well, i did want to take you to my secret base." Kaido scratched his cheek in a nervous way.
"Then let's go. We can have our picnic there."
'He really does like me.'
Kaido and Saiki were sitting on a blanket outside the abandoned building enjoying their meals and talking to each other. Kaido was telling Saiki all about his adventures as the Jet Black Wings and Saiki was nodding along and smiling slightly.
"So then Dark Reunion tried to use a poison gas to knock out the people in a bank so they could rob it, but I stepped in and cut off the gas to save the day!" Kaido said with a grin.
Saiki smiled as he ate his coffee jelly.
"Then there was this other time tha- huh? Saiki, are you listening? I can talk about something else if you want."
"I always listen when you talk." Saiki smiled.
"R-really?" Kaido blushed.
"Yeah. "
They sat there for a while longer until it started to get dark.
"We should head home." Saiki said as he looked up at the sky.
"Yeah, it is getting dark and I still have to study."
They gathered everything and began to walk.
The walk home was a lot like the picnic. Kaido was chattering on about Dark Reunion and being a hero with Saiki watching him and smiling.
They arrived at Kaido's doorstep and turned to eachother to say goodbye.
"So. . . I guess that's it. Good night, Saiki" Kaido rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.
Saiki smiled before leaning in and giving Kaido a chaste kiss. "Call me Kusuo, Shun."
Kaido blushed. "Lets do this again sometime, Kusuo."
"That sounds good. Good night, Shun."
Kaido turned and went inside. Saiki stood there for a minute before teleporting home with a smile on his face and thoughts of Kaido filling his head.
