Work Text:
At first Jimin thought something was wrong with him, that he wasn’t strong enough to feel the pull. His mother got her familiar at age of 6, even his little brother had one. Jimin always felt wrong. While his classmates would go around casting simple spells he would go to his grandma’s house help her with her flowers. His mother called him a special boy and he didn’t know if it was a good thing.
He would spend hours looking at his bedroom walls, imagining what his familiar would be. Maybe a little cat like his mother’s or something big like his father’s deer. He couldn’t help but imagine what it felt to be whole.
The pull, they said, was the strongest think you would ever feel, it was like your body and mind were longing for something. One would say it was like looking for the love of your life. Jimin just wished he could feel something.
“Having a familiar isn’t that great” Hoseok said while putting a towel around his neck, sweat still dripping from his forehead.
“You have a familiar”
“Yeah, And it’s a fucking horse. I love Mang but you can’t walk around with with a horse following you!”
“I wouldn’t mind.”
He wasn’t bitter that all his friends had familiars, and that their magic was stronger than his for the same reason. Jimin didn’t care about magic.
“I can let you ride him, if you want.” Hoseok offered.
“No thanks, I like walking.”
“I wouldn’t mind.”
That wasn’t a lie, he did like walking, even though all his muscles were sore from dance practice and he would do anything to be him right now he wasn’t going to accept Hoseok’s offer. He was petty, okay?
When Jimin opened his eyes, everything surrounding him was blue.
He could feel the air leave his body. Could feel the cold from the water. But he wasn’t drowning. It’s not the first time he had that dream. He knows what happens next.
It starts with the water, then the panic. And then nothing. He just stays there, under water. But he knows this time is different. There is a voice calling his name, a voice he doesn’t recognize.
He can also feel the water moving around him, that’s new too. He knows he’s not alone and he’s not afraid. Never afraid, no.
When he has those dreams he feels whole, almost.
He can hear the voice calling his name. “Jimin, Jimin” non stop. He wants to answer back. “I’m fine, I’m not drowning.” But his voice never comes out. He never screams back.
There is a shadow moving on the corner of his eye. It’s big. Big enough to eat Jimin whole in just one bite. The shadow comes closer as soon as the voice stops calling him. There is just silence.
The shadow moves and Jimin moves with it, like a mirror.
“Show yourself!” Jimin demands in his mind. The thing moves closer, Jimin does too.
“Show yourself to me! "
And the thing does. All Jimin can see is it’s eyes, blue and so human like. It looks so much like Jimin’s own eyes.
“Come find me.” The thing says, Jimin can hear it as if it was his own thoughts. “I will.” He promises.
Then Jimin wakes up.
He never told anyone about his dreams.
He wasn’t scared about what Hoseok or his family would say. He was scared about what the dreams meant. It wasn’t uncommon for people to have dreams about their familiars, almost everyone had it, but it was uncommon to not feel the pull when for are awake.
The dreams were like tips for where you should find them, to were the pull would lead you. Once, when the dreams started, Jimin threw himself in the sea. The waves too big for him to swim, the water filling his lungs. He didn’t panic, he didn’t fight back.
He did what he did on his dreams. He waited. He waited for something to happen. That time was his father casting a spell to take him out of the water. Until this day Jimin isn’t aloud to go to the beach alone.
“What are your plans from the weekend, Chim?” Hoseok was his best friend since they were 10. Mang, Hoseok’s familiar, found Jimin picking up flowers. At seeing the, at the time, little horse, Jimin thought is was his familiar. He changed his mind ass soon as a little Hoseok came running after his familiar. He was one of those people who were born with it. Hoseok never had to look for his familiar, it was always just there.
“I don’t know. Maybe do my potions work? You know the teacher doesn’t like me.” “My friend, Namjoon, got tickets to the dragon sanctuary. I was going to invite Jin Hyung but...” “But you still doesn’t have the courage to talk to him.” Jimin completed.
“You can’t judge me, Park Jimin! Have you seen his face ? It’s like... it’s like looking at the most beautiful flower, like, ever!” “I mean, it makes sense since he’s, you know, a flower fairy.”
“Ya, don’t sass me Park Jimin, I’m still your Hyung!” Jimin giggled, Hoseok was just too cute.
“So... dragon sanctuary ?” Dragons used to be a common thing in their society. The most powerful witches had dragons as their familiar. Until the hunts started.
Jimin wasn’t born when it happened, but everyone knows about it. How the madness of a king let to a whole species to disappear. The lucky ones who were fast enough to hide are now in the sanctuaries. Jimin felt a shiver run down his spine.
Once in a while the sanctuary would open it’s doors to the public. Everyone wanted to have a look on the extraordinary creatures, Jimin included.
“I’m in.” Hoseok’s eyes opened to it’s maximum. “You are ?” “Yeah, or did you want to have alone time with your second crush ?” Jimin winked walking away. “ PARK JIMIN!”
Jimin couldn’t wait.
The dragon sanctuary looked like a dome.
It had big walls, the roof was rounded and made of glass. It was so clear that Jimin had forgotten that there was a roof at all.
They had been there for an hour or so, Hoseok and Namjoon talking animatedly about all the rare species of dragons they would see.
“Crystal dragons are the best dragons, Joonie!"
“What about lightening dragons? It’s like a huge Pikachu.” Jimin rolled his eyes at his friends. They had been discussing about dragons for hours!
“No one cares about a huge Pikachu!”
They were in front of a gate. Every section had a special gate so you could know what kind of dragon you would see. This one was metal, the black color making harder to see the details of the drawings. The walls where a dark orange color, the more you walked the more the color darkened. Jimin knew exactly what kind of dragon it was.
Fire dragons were the most common ones, and for that reason they were the first ones to get captured.
“In the old times, people who disobeyed the crown would me tied in a trunk and be burned to death. They called the fire dragons Demons.” Namjoon whispered. “The king killed his own dragon when the captured began.”
Jimin felt a shiver run down his spine just imagining what that creatures had to been through. Killed the monsters that made them monsters.
“good thing they are safe now, hum?” A boy, a little taller than Jimin, wearing leather pants and a white shirt with the collar to wide that Jimin would see his collarbones, said. His face covered by the shadows of the wall. His voice familiar but Jimin couldn’t think of where he heard it. “Yoongi Hyung!” Namjoon And Hoseok said at the same time, cheeks burning red. ‘ Yoongi Hyung’ came out of his hiding, face covered in shadows, back pressed on the wall.
He is pretty, Jimin thinks. His milky skin, his cute cheeks and mouth. And his eyes, oh his eyes. Cat like shaped, sweet and sharp at the same time. Same eyes who were looking at Jimin’s. “have we met each other?” He asks.
“I-I don’t think so, no.” “ well, nice to meet. I’m Min Yoongi.” The boy, the man, says extending his hand. “Park Jimin.” He holds Yoongi’s hand. The other man’s hand covering his own small hand. “Enchanted” Yoongi says leading Jimin’s hand to his lips.
“Oh my god” Hoseok whispers to Namjoon. “Boy has game” he whispers back.
Jimin’s whole face is red, he can feel the heat from it. Yoongi never takes his eyes of him, his dark hair falling against his eyes but he doesn’t even blink.
“Hum, so, Hyung! Nice to see you!” Hoseok says. Yoongi seems to be shaken out of his daze, finally letting go of Jimin’s hand. Jimin misses the heat as soon as he does.
“I’m glad you boys could come. Getting those tickets weren’t easy, you know?!” Yoongi’s voice is deep and calming, like an old memory, Jimin just can’t remember. “I’m very thankful, Hyung. You know, for the thing.” Hoseok says pointing his head to Namjoon.
“Anytime.” He winks at Hoseok before turning to Jimin again “ready to see some dragons?” Jimin just nods his head. Yoongi smiles at him extending his arm for Jimin to take. “It can get pretty dark in those hallways, wouldn’t want you to hurt yourself “
Jimin can’t form words so he just nods his head again, putting his small hands around Yoongi’s arm, feeling the muscles there. Jimin turns his head to see his friends faces as they begin to walk.
“I really like your dress, by the way.” Yoongi says looking Jimin up and down. His cheeks matching his pretty pink dress. “Thank you.” He says, voice small. “you are welcome, flower”
The fire dragons lair was like a pit. A really, really big pit. From where they were you could see the whole thing, there was metal bars all around the edges of the pit so little kids wouldn’t throw themselves.
Jimin wasn’t really a fan of heights but he couldn’t deny that the view was stunning. The sun was setting and could be seen through the giant class windows around the pit.
In the middle was a big metal platform that would go to the middle of the lair. The dragons could reach you with only one flap of their wings. Jimin held his breath when Yoongi walked there.
“when I started training the dragons, they wouldn’t trust me, wouldn’t let be come near them.” His voice was loud and clear, all the people around stopping what they were doing to pay attention to his words. “like any other animal, they can feel if you are A good person or not.” Yoongi walked to the edge of the platform, his back turned to the pit. “dragons are loyal animals, once you gain their trust, there is nothing that can change it.” Yoongi walked backwards, arms wide open.
Jimin’s heart was beating out of his chest, his hands clutching the metal bar that prevented him from falling on the pit. He wanted to reach out to Yoongi, hold his shirt and take him back to safety. His wish turned to be foolish when Yoongi threw himself out of platform.
Jimin’s ears ringed, his breath stuck in his throat. His knuckles white from the force he was holding the bar.
“Oh god, oh god.” Hoseok says, hands trembling while he holds into Namjoon’s sleeve.
Jimin is looking at the ground, trying to find a sign that Yoongi is fine and that he isn’t just some crazy dude. But all he can see is the rocks at the end of the pit. He feels the need to cry.
“A dragon never forgets a smell, if he smells you in danger their only reaction is protect.” Yoongi’s voice says. Jimin looks up only to see Yoongi sitting cross legged on top of a dragon’s head.
The dragon is big but not big enough to be bigger than a bus. Its scales are a brown-ish red color. The tip of its wings is yellow, the color mixing with the rest of the scales. The way it looks seems as if it was smiling.
Yoongi pats the dragons head making it lower it. When Yoongi feet touch the metal platform the dragon’s back straights. Yoongi looks so small close to the thing. “Betraying a dragon’s trust is killing it.” Yoongi rubs his hands up and down the dragon’s chin.
The dragon turns his head so that Yoongi can scratch more, it’s tail shaking side to side. It looks like an overgrown puppy. A puppy full of scales.
Yoongi looks at the people around the platform and smile, his gums showing. Jimin decides that he likes that look better.
Namjoon starts clapping, and soon Jimin and Hoseok follow. Someone in the back screams how awesome that was and Jimin smiles. Yoongi and the dragon bow. Yoongi looks at Jimin, who only claps harder, making his hands red.
Yoongi winks at him and Jimin feel his cheeks burn red. Yoongi is, definitely, a flirt.
“that was awesome! The way the dragon showed up was so cool!!” Hoseok screamed as the four walked down another hallway, this one plain black. “it’s part of the training putting a show. Kookie is the best one, what can I say, the dragon likes showing up.”
“Kookie? Not intimidating for a dragon.” Jimin asks, hands clutching the end of his pink dress. “Dragons shouldn’t be intimidating. And Kookie is still young, he will be a lot bigger when he grows. Then you will see what intimidating is.”
Jimin blushes, he wished he didn’t by the look at Yoongi Is giving him. So smug. “are there other fire dragons? I read that they were the first ones to get captured.” Namjoon asks. “Yeah, Kookie’s whole family is here. He’s one of the few dragons that were born here.”
“so, he doesn’t know what the wild is?” Hoseok turns his head to look at Yoongi. “oh, he does. I take him out on rides, sometimes.” Jimin can’t imagine what riding a dragon would feel like. The wind flowing on his face, being high enough to touch the clouds.
The walls changed now, the black turning into blue and green. The rounded selling making it feels like you are inside of a wave. Some of the walls were class but the insides were black, void of life. Jimin noted that they are the only ones in that section.
“What happened here?” He asks, voice small. The ends of his dress wrinkled where he was holding. “We don’t have water dragons here.” Yoongi says looking down. All their faces fall, knowing what that implies.
“Water dragons were the only ones who weren’t killed immediately.” Yoongi says, voice small. “when the king found out that water dragons could actually produce water, he made sure every single one was captured. Making the dragons work for him.” He said, hands closing in a fist.
“If the sanctuaries were created sooner, we could have, I could have -“ Yoongi knuckles were white and his eyes closed shut. Without thinking, Jimin held Yoongi’s wrist, making the boy open his hand so that Jimin could lock their fingers together.
“It’s not your fault. It happened a long time ago, it’s not your fault, Hyung.” Jimin said, eyes on Yoongi who was looking at their intertwined hands. “you called me Hyung.” Yoongi says. “Hum?” “You called me Hyung.” He repeats. “Oh, I’m sorry. I-I didn’t realize.”
“It’s okay, flower. Thank you.” Yoongi kissed the back of Jimin’s hand again, Jimin prayed that he couldn’t feel the shudder that run down the boy’s body. “You- you are welcome.” Yoongi gave him that smile again. The one that showed him his gums.
“are you two done flirting or can he go on?” Hoseok calls ahead of them. “Brat.” Yoongi murmurs. “C’mon, I have something to show you.” He says, holding Jimin’s hand stronger, making sure he’s following him.
Jimin decides he would go anywhere that Yoongi would take him.
Earth dragons were the only ones you were allowed to touch.
They didn’t have wings, and they nothing came out of their mouths, but the tiny teeth still could Take your arm off with only one bite. Thank god they didn’t like human flesh.
Earth dragons were the size of a dog, scales dark brown and in a shape that looked a lot like a rock. Their mouths were rounded and full of tiny teeth. They were great hole makers and spend most of their time underground. When the captures first started, they were able to hide.
Jimin had a lap full of tiny dragons and there was one on top of his head, eating his hair.
“so, they are like... worm dragons?” Hoseok asked while he petted one of the dragons, his belly up for more rubs. “you could say that.” Yoongi says while taking the dragon out of Jimin’s Head, who smiles at him in form of a thanks.
“not wanting to be biased but, worm dragons are the best.” Namjoon says as one baby dragon rubs its head into Jonnie’s chin. “Totally not biased.” Jimin replies.
Yoongi has a dragon on his shoulder and one under his arm. The one in his shoulder is making sounds lie it’s speaking. Yoongi always answer with “hums”. Jimin can’t help but think it’s the cutest thing ever. They are not the only ones in the earth section, there are kids running and tiny dragons running after them, parents sitting under the trees and petting the dragons couples holding hands while watching the creatures play. Jimin blushes at the thought of walking hand in hand with Yoongi while watching the dragons. Blushes of the thought of wanting to go in a date with Yoongi.
Yoongi is smiling at the boy in the pretty dress. The way his rounded cheeks turn pink from the heat or from the thoughts he might be having. His eyes turn to Jimin’s lips, how soft they look. He looks at Jimin’s dress then, the pretty pink fabric and how it has ridden up his tights from the way he’s sitting on the ground. Yoongi blushes and turns his eyes Away.
A robotic voice announces that the sanctuary is closing and that everyone should be leased to the main entrance. Jimin can’t help but be disappointed. “C’mon guys, I can show you the way.” Yoongi says putting his dragons away. “I’ll see you again little guy.”
Jimin says kissing the tip of the dragon’s nose, who makes a sound that sounds a lot like purring. Yoongi’s heart busted in flames.
Jimin dusts the sand from his knees, looking up just to find Yoongi watching him with a fond look in his eyes. “Let’s go, flower. Couldn’t want you lost with the dragons.” Yoongi extends his arm for Jimin to take. Such a gentleman, Jimin thinks.
“It wouldn’t be so bad.” Jimin asks, both hands around Yoongi’s arm. “They would probably make you their princess, I mean, you have the looks for that.” The boy winks. Jimin hides his face into the boy’s arm, cheeks burning.
There isn’t a lot of people when they get into the main entrance. Hoseok And Namjoon are walking ahead of them, maybe giving they privacy or just seeking their own. “I was very proud when Namjoon said he would bring his friend.” Yoongi comments.
“You seemed to know Hoseok.”
“He’s always around, Namjoon has a crush on him. He and the fairy guy.”
“Don’t you think it’s kind of weird?”
“having a crush on two people at the same time? Nah. Do you?” Jimin asks, he’s in front of Yoongi now, the older boy holding both of his hands.
“Do I what?”
“ have crushes in two people ?!” Yoongi looks at Jimin’s eyes, how pretty the look with the little make up Jimin is using. Suits him.
“Nah, I’m a one-man man’s, you know?”
“Good.” Jimin says before he can even think.
“Good?” Yoongi asks, a smirk on his face.” So, you wouldn’t mind if I asked your number?”
“Noops.” “What if I called you?”
“Still wouldn’t mind.”
“What if I message you all the time and call you flower?”
“Not at all.”
“What if I called you princess?” Jimin’s cheeks turn red, he can’t look at Yoongi now.
“I wouldn’t mind.” Yoongi’s smile is full on gums now.
“So, can I have your number?”
Jimin nods his head yes, giving his phone to Yoongi.
“C’mon Jimin, your bust it’s almost leaving. “ Hoseok screams.
Yoongi gives his phone back, his left hand still holding Jimin’s. “I’ll see you soon, your majesty.” Yoongi bows, kissing Jimin’s hand for the third time that day.
Jimin can’t speak, he’s afraid that if he opens his mouth the only think that will come out is a proposal. He walks to Hoseok and Namjoon, when he’s in front of the gate he turns around to look at Yoongi, who is looking at him.
“I will call you.” Yoongi mouths.
Jimin just nods. Hands clutching the metal gate.
He couldn’t wait.
This dream was different.
Jimin wasn’t under water but above it. Everything around him was water, but he was standing in a rock. There was a blue sky and no clouds, making it look a lot like a mirrored image of the water.
The rock he was standing was small, just big enough for him to fit. If he moved he would fall. He could hear a ‘pling’ sound. Like if someone had left a faucet open. It repeated and repeated, like an echo.
“Hello?” Jimin asked to the voice. His voice being echoing. The sound continued. He liked left just to see a trail of rocks the same size as the one he was in.
The right side empty. He took a careful step, he didn’t want to slip. After every step, Jimin felt like the road only got longer. He turned his head just to see that there wasn’t a way back, all the rocks gone, even the ones ahead of him.
“Why are you different?” He said to no one. His voice repeated like a broken record.
He looked to the sky just to see his own reflection. Mirror effect indeed.
He extended his hand up, almost touching the sky. He drew his hand back, not sure of what he should do. The water sound stopped. Jimin could feel his hand trembling, sweat forming on his forehead. He extended his hand again, this time touching the sky. It moved like it would do if you touched water.
“Why are you different?!” He asked again, anger consuming him. “You shouldn’t be different, you all should be the same!”
The water beneath him started to move. The sound getting louder. Whatever Jimin was going was making it angry. “It’s just a dream. It’s just a dream.” He repeated, this time his voice didn’t echo back.
“Is it Jimin?” A voice, a really deep voice said.
He knew that voice, had dreamed of it a thousand times before.
“Where are you ? Why is it different?” He screamed, tears running down his face. He could feel the water hit his ankles.
“Find what you are looking for, Jimin”
“Where are you?” He screamed, water hitting his knees.
“What are you looking for, Jimin?” The water was cold, not cold freezing, but cold enough to give Jimin shivers.
“What do you want the most?” Jimin fell on his knees, his sleeves getting soaked.
What did he want the most? His familiar, the thing he looked for for years. The only thing that would make him whole. Then he remembered Yoongi, the boy he had only met but made him feel almost, almost complete. He remembers Yoongi’s smile, and the pet names, and how warm his hands felt while holding his. Yoongi, who would always text him first thing in the morning. Remembered how much he wanted to kiss the boy.
“I don’t know.” He answered. Hands trembling and tears falling from his face.” I don’t know.”
“You’re finally waking up.” The voice said. The rock beneath him disappeared.
He fell in the water.
Yoongi did, in fact, pick him up. When Jimin finally got out of class there he was, leaning on the school's gate. Black ripped jeans and a white shirt, he wasn’t dressed to impress and yet he looked so... hot, Jimin thought. He looks hot.
Jimin looked at his beaten-up shoes, his pretty white socks showing. His skirt was dark blue and matched his little blue shirt. He looked like a kid while Yoongi looked like a man.
“Hey,pretty.” Yoongi said. Jimin only blushed. They knew each other for weeks now, but he still wasn’t used to the pet names.
“Hyung!” He smiled back, cheeks red like they always are when he’s around the older.
Yoongi took Jimin’s hand, kissing the back of it. Yoongi’s lips so soft against his hand. “You look so pretty today; did you dress up just for me?” Yoongi winked.
“Yoongi, stop!” He said, playfully hitting Yoongi’s chest.
“I’m just kidding, flower. You always look cute.”
Yoongi took him to a little coffee shop close to campus. There wasn’t a lot of people around, the smell of coffee making it homelier. They were In line, Yoongi’s hands on his waist, his head on top of his own. He hoped that the older boy couldn’t feel his heart beat.
“what do you want, Hyung?” Jimin asked turning his head to look at Yoongi.
“Humm, I don’t know. Maybe black coffee ?!”
“You are boring.” Jimin said.
“Ya, be more respectful to your Hyung, brat.” Yoongi said while running his hands up and down Jimin’s waist, making the younger’s body convulse from the tingling feeling. Yoongi was laughing too, gums on full display. Jimin would do anything to make him always smile like that.
The girl behind them made a fake cough sound. Yoongi immediately stopped what he was doing. The older boy looked at the girl for a few seconds while Jimin hided his face on Yoongi’s shoulder, his hands still on Jimin’s waist.
The girl seemed to notice it too, if the disgusted look said anything. Jimin held Yoongi’s arm, trying to make the older stop sending the death glares to the girl.
“Try drinking warm things, you know, for the cough.” Yoongi said, his voice deeper.
The girl's eyes went wide.
“Isn’t it right, baby?” Yoongi was looking at him now. Jimin opened and closed his mouth. “Aren’t you just the cutest thing? My pretty baby.” Yoongi said. He cupped Jimin’s cheeks, squishing them.
“My Jiminie, So soft and cute.” Yoongi kissed his cheeks, his forehead, the tip of his nose. Jimin’s whole face was on fire.
The girl left, her footsteps making a loud sound. Yoongi turned around, hands still cupping His face. “Fucking prick.” The older boy murmured. Jimin was still paralyzed. Yoongi looked at the small boy, his eyes softening immediately.
“Cute” he whispered, rubbing his nose against Jimin’s. “C’mon flower, it's our turn.”
Jimin was playing with his straw, the whipped cream long gone. Yoongi was sipping on his black coffee. Boring, Jimin had called it. “ so, how is Kookie?” Jimin asked. He found out that the fire dragon happened to be his Hyung’s favorite.
“He’s good. Lately he has bothered me about going to see ...” the boy paused. “The trees, to see the trees.” The boy found it strange the sudden change but pained no mind. Yoongi was looking to the window giving Jimin a good view of his jawline. Jimin wanted to kiss it.
“I never asked you.” The older boy started. “Do you paint your hair?” Jimin touched his head. His dark grey locks so soft to the touch. “ no, I was ... Humm, born this way.” “Interesting.” Jimin looked at his hand holding the cup. Yoongi seeing the boys expression, couldn't help but extend his hand so that he was holding Jimin's smaller ones.
“So, Hoseok told me you are a Witch...” “Do you ask about me to your friends ?” Jimin asked, a smirk on his face. For the first time Yoongi was the one with the red cheeks.
“No! I mean, yes. But it’s not like that!”
Jimin giggled, hiding his smile behind his hands. Yoongi could help but be fond of the boy.
“Answering your question: yes, I’m a witch.” “Is your wand sparkling ?” Yoongi asked, chin on the palm of his hands. “No, it’s not.” Jimin asked, cheeks hurting from smiling so much. “What about you? Are you a witch too?” Yoongi laughed. “No, I’m human. As normal as they come."
“You are not normal!” Yoongi arched on of his eyebrows. “I mean, you work training dragons, how cool is that?!” his small hand holding Yoongi’s bigger one.
“Yeah, that’s pretty cool.” He smiled to Jimin, a smile Jimin couldn’t quite understand.
Not yet at least.
They are laying in Yoongi’s bed. The covers are on the floor, the window wide open on an attempt to make the room less warm. Yoongi is upside down on the edge of the bed, his white shirt ridding up to show his stomach, skin slightly tan and unmarked.
Jimin is holding one for Yoongi’s pillows against his chest, they smell so much like the older boy. Yoongi had invited Jimin to his dorm room. Since he worked at the sanctuary and needed to be ready for anything at any time, living close was the best option.
The room was small but oh so full of live. Each wall a different shade of blue, all of them covered by photos and lyrics- Yoongi loved his dragons as much as he loved his music.
Yoongi was still in his work clothes, the tight leather pants and the white shirt. Jimin totally didn’t check his ass out when the boy opened the door for him.
“What are you looking at, pretty boy?” Yoongi asked, only one eye open. His black hair pushed back from his face.
“Just you, hot stuff.” Jimin tried to wink but ended up closing both of his eyes. Yoongi laughed, pushing himself to sit straight on the bed, his cheeks red from all the blood that had run to his head.
“Getting bold, aren’t we?” Yoongi smirked.
Jimin only smiles, the other boy does the same. Yoongi is looking at him with so much love behind his eyes that Jimin can’t thing of a single thing more beautiful than this moment right now.
“You give a hand I want the whole arm.” Jimin jokes.
“Humm, then maybe I want a leg.” Yoongi says. The older boy holds Jimin’s ankles and pulls him. Jimin can’t help the little gasp that comes out of his mouth.
Yoongi’s hands are wandering his body.
First his ankles, then his shins, his tights. The older boy is between Jimin’s legs, their chests pressed together, Jimin can feel Yoongi’s breath. Yoongi’s touches are feather like , leaving goosebumps everywhere they touch.
One of Yoongi’s hands moves to hold Jimin’s waist, caressing the heated skin. The boy knows his face his burning. Jimin moves his legs so they are wrapped around Yoongi’s waist. His short shorts ridding up. Yoongi’s hair is falling on his eyes, Jimin can’t help but push it back so he can look at his eyes.
“Hi” Yoongi breaths, his eyes moving from Jimin’s eyes to mouth.
“Hi.”
Yoongi’s hold around his waist gets stronger, making Jimin gasp, this time louder. The older boy is smirking. “So pretty, my Jiminie.” Yoongi says nosing Jimin’s neck. Jimin closes his eyes, his thighs trembling around Yoongi’s waist. Yoongi starts to press kisses on Jimin’s neck, little pecks turning into open mouthed kisses.
“H-Hyung.” Jimin whispers.
“Yes, flower?” He says, his mouth still so close to his throat.
“Up here, please.” His lips are red from all the biting he has done.
“Up? But flower, don’t you know that going down is better?” Yoongi says, making Jimin moan.
Yoongi lowers his head so he’s eye level with Jimin’s chest, his pretty yellow shirt rolled up to his nipples.
“So pretty, my baby. I could eat you up.” Yoongi kisses his chest, leaving a wet trail behind. Jimin moans louder, his hand finding Yoongi’s hair, the boy making a hiss sound from the pain of Jimin’s nails on his scalp.
Jimin pulls Yoongi’s hair so he can look at the boy’s face.
“Hyung, please.” There are tears in his eyes.
“Everything for you Jimin, everything.” He says, lips wet with spit. Jimin’s chest is a mess, covered in spit and little purple marks.
Yoongi’s kissing his neck again, sucking and biting like a vampire would. Jimin’s hold on his hair only gets stronger.
“Yoongi!” Jimin moans. He’s grinding up, trying to get some kind of friction.
“Calm down, kitten. Wouldn’t want to tie you up, would we?”
Yoongi sees Jimin’s eyes darken to the thought of getting tied up. He can feel his own pants getting tighter.
“Well, well. Isn’t my baby naughty?!”
“Min Yoongi!” Jimin hits his arm.
“Okay, okay.” He laughs, rubbing his nose against Jimin’s.
They mouths are so close Jimin can feel Yoongi’s breath against his lips. Yoongi’s hands are holding his thighs again, they bodies pushed together. Jimin can almost feel Yoongi’s lips against his, so damn close.
There is a loud crashing sound outside the window.
Both their heads turn to look at where the sound seems to be coming from. That’s when a big, brown eyes comes eyes level with them. Jimin screams pushing Yoongi away from him, making the older boy fall from the bed.
“What the fuck, Jimin ? “ Yoongi grunts from the floor.
“There is a thing, on your window!!!” He says pushing his shirt down, Yoongi seems to be sad seeing his art work being covered.
“It’s not a thing, it’s Kookie.” Yoongi explains like it’s the most normal thing to have a dragon outside your window.
“Wasn’t he supposed to be, like, locked away or something?” Jimin says. The dragon on the window rolls his eyes.
“He was!”
Yoongi goes to the window, his hand caressing the dragon’s scales, who makes a purring sound. Such a spoiled boy. Jimin is sitting cross legged on the bed, arms crossed against his chest. “What are you doing here, boy?” Yoongi asks. The dragon seems to remember something.
His eyes glow yellow before turning brown again. It makes a pained sound, that hurts Jimin’s heart.
“What is it? What is happening?” Jimin asks standing up.
“ I don’t know! He never acted like this before! I mean, only once and that was when...” Yoongi stopped.
“Kookie, what’s happening? Is it him? Is he hurting?” The boy said, his body half way through the window.
“Yoongi, what’s happening ? “Jimin said, his body almost shaking.
“It’s his mate! Something is wrong with him!” Yoongi said. Both hands holding the dragon’s scales, like he was ready to climb it. “Jimin, I don’t have time to explain it to you right now but, do you trust me?” Yoongi asked, eyes full of worry.
Yes, his mind screamed. Yes, I do. Jimin’s whole body was trembling, Yoongi was fully seated on the dragon, his hand extended for Jimin to take. That’s when Jimin felt it. The pull, for the first time in forever, he felt it. Is heart beating like crazy on his chest.
His eyes never leaving Yoongi’s hand. And he felt it. He felt like a magnet. He didn’t know where his familiar was but he knew - he knew- that Yoongi would take him there.
Without thinking twice, he held Yoongi’s hand.
“I’m going to find you.” He thought. “Wherever you are.”
Kookie made a winning sound, telling him to hurry.
“Are you ready?” Yoongi asked, his head turned so he could look at Jimin.
“More than never.” Jimin answered.
In the end Jimin found out he hated flying.
His hold on Yoongi’s waist so tight that the older boy tried to pry his hands off him. It didn’t work.
Getting out of the sanctuary was surprisingly easy. Like Yoongi has said, Kookie is used to him taking him out for flights. On his first years of training Yoongi found a hole on the fire dragon’s lair, but it only got to use years later when Kook was old enough to learn how to fly.
The dragons never tried to escape, smart enough to know that the sanctuary is the safest place for them. Jimin admitted being very impressed.
“Hold on just a little be more, boy. We are almost there.” Yoongi said, voice calm while he petted the dragon’s scales.
Kook only made a pained sound, dropping slightly making Jimin gasp and hide his face on Yoongi’s broad back.
“we are almost there, just hold on.” Yoongi said, Jimin wasn’t sure if he was talking with him or the dragon. They were flying over a forest, one which Jimin had never seen before. The trees were tall enough to scratch the dragon’s belly, or maybe they were just flying to low. Kookie seemed to be getting weaker every second.
Jimin’s hold on Yoongi was almost bruising, his nails digging into the older boy’s stomach. Jimin sword he could feel the fabric tear up under his hands.
The vision cleared, the trees lowering their size.
There as a mountain and a lake, a big ass lake. And, apparently, that was where Kookie was headed.
The dragon whimpered, his wings stopped flapping.
“Hold on, boy, we are here.” Yoongi whispered petting the dragon’s scales.
On the center of the lake was a rock, a really, really, weird rock. Its shade changed between gray and blue, shinning the same way Kook’s wings did. It looked like it was moving.
“Yoongi.” Jimin whispered. The wind too loud for the older boy to hear. The unmistakable sound of water under them. “Yoongi!” Jimin said louder.
The closest they got to the lake the strongest Jimin could feel the pull.
It was so strong. Stronger than when he had felt it for the first time. It was like the air was sucked out of his lungs, making it harder for him to breath. His vision was blurry and he couldn’t feel his legs. His hands holding Yoongi’s waist dropped.
“Jimin?” Yoongi asked Jimin’s eyes were wide open, lifeless. “Jimin, what are you doing?” He asked again, he couldn't turn his body to look at the witch, to make sure Jimin was alright.
Kookie hissed, as if he was being stabbed. Jimin felt the same. They were flying over the lake, the shimmering rock much closer now, close enough for Jimin to see it’s scales even though his dazed gaze.
The dragon made a last pained sound before completely falling. Jimin could feel his body sleeping, the toughness of Kook’s scales suddenly gone just like Yoongi’s warmth.
He was falling and he knew what that meant.
The water was cold. As cold as Jimin remembered even though he never felt it before, not for real at least.
When he opened his eyes, it was completely dark. Jimin never realized he was that deep. His lunges weren’t aching, he wasn’t feeling anything.
“Jimin” the voice said, sounding softer that it did on his dreams, less rough and pained. Jimin turned to see the creature for the first time.
A dragon.
Different from Kook, that dragon didn’t have legs, or arms or even wings. It looked like a snake. A big ass snake. It’s scales changing from grey to blue, the ones around its eyes looking more purple than blue. And it’s eyes, Brown and so much like Jimin’s.
The boy couldn’t help but gasp, bubbles coming out of his mouth. Jimin closed his mouth, putting his hands in front of it like to prevent more bubbles from scape. The dragon did a thing with its mouth that looked like a smile.
“You can breathe here.”
Jimin slowly dropped his hands.
“you are real” His voice sounded the same it did over water.
“I’m” the dragon’s voice said on Jimin’s Head.
“and you are ...”
“Your familiar, yes.”
“b-but you are a dragon. A water dragon! Yoongi said they were all dead!” Jimin said, hands flapping around.
“ humans ...” the dragon rolled his eyes. “I will explain it later; your mate is going to jump on the water if we don’t come up.”
“my what?”
“Jimin! “ Yoongi’s voice called, Jimin could hear the desperation on his voice.
“Yoongi ... he is not- we are not...” the boy tried to explain.
The dragon rolled his eyes again before swimming forward, towards Jimin.
“ wait, wait , what are you doing ?!” The boy tried to swim.
The dragon picked Jimin by the end of his T-shirt while swimming towards the surface. Jimin screams and kicked trying to get the dragon to let him go.
The dragon reached the surface with a splash, waves creating around him. Yoongi was standing at the edge of the lake, clothes soaking wet.
Kook was curled around himself, shivering. His head picked up when seeing Jimin’s dragon. He remembered Yoongi saying something about a mate.
The water dragon lowered Jimin on the ground. His scales making a scratching sound when touching the rocks on the edge of the lake. Yoongi’s mouth was open.
Jimin’s first instinct when his feet touched the ground was to run to Yoongi, the boy receiving him with open arms.
With Yoongi’s arms around him and his familiar’s presence behind him, Jimin never felt so complete.
“are you okay? He didn’t hurt you, did he? Are you okay?” The older boy asked, hands touching Jimin everywhere he could reach just to make sure the witch was okay.
“I’m fine, really” he said, eyes soft looking at the older boy.
“I was so scared! You were here and suddenly we were falling! We fell on the water and I couldn’t find you! I was so scared, flower!” Yoongi said burring his face on Jimin’s neck. Jimin let him hold his as much as he wanted.
They separate only after purring sounds. Jimin is shocked at the scene in front of him. Kookie is rubbing his head against his dragon’s, both of them making loud purring noises. The fire dragon’s tail is hitting the rock surface with such Force no one could disagree on how happy he is.
Big puppies indeed.
“Yoongi.” Jimin turns to the older boy.
“Yes?”
“ I found him.” Jimin says, smile brighter than the sun. “my familiar, I found him!” Yoongi looks confused. Then he looks at the dragon and back at Jimin, mouth falling open.
“Y-your familiar? A dragon?” He asks.
“Uhum.”
Yoongi looks at the water dragon. Kook is rubbing his head again the dragon’s belly now, the bigger dragon splashing water on him.
He looks at Jimin who is beaming, his skin shining gold from the sun.
“Trust my boyfriend to have a dragon as a familiar” Yoongi whispers. Jimin puts his arm around Yoongi waist.
“You know, Taetae called us mates...” Jimin murmured rubbing his cheek again Yoongi’s arm.
“Taetae?”
“Yeah, my dragon. He looks like a Taetae.”
“Humm. Would you mind? Us being mates, I mean ...”
“ and spend the rest of our lives together ? “ Jimin asks, smiling up at Yoongi.
“Yeah, that’s kind of the point on being mates.” Yoongi nudges him.
“No, I wouldn’t mind.”
“Hum”
The sun is setting, the dragons are cuddling and Jimin has Yoongi’s arms around him shoulder, the warm is not as warm as it was before. His clothes are clinging on his body and so are Yoongi’s. Jimin thinks that if it was a movie this could be the perfect end.
“I have a familiar now.” Jimin whispers, the words so strange on his mouth.
“You do, petal.” Yoongi holds his free hand.
Taetae growls, his brown eyes looking at Jimin and the boy knows the dragon feels it too. It’s a warm feeling the one of being around the people you love.
Jimin squeezes Yoongi’s hand.
“You know, I always thought that having a familiar was the best thing in the world.”
“You have a familiar now.”
“ I have you too.” He says. Yoongi’s eyes are shinning, making the brown color look lighter. He looks soft, and so much like a little boy
They don’t break eye contact, don’t even blink. “You know.” Yoongi says.
“I know.” Jimin Answers.
The sun is gone. Yoongi and kookie made a bonfire. Jimin told Yoongi everything, about the dreams, how he felt knowing that his familiar was out there and he just couldn’t find him. He told him about how grateful he was for having him on his life.
Half of Tae’s body is under water but his head is on Jimin’s lap, the boy petting his scales. Yoongi arms are around Jimin and the boy has his head against his shoulder. Kook is curled against Tae and making a purring noise.
Jimin told Yoongi everything, about the dreams, how he felt knowing that his familiar was out there and he just couldn’t find him. He told him about how grateful he was for having him on his life.
“This is it.” Jimin thinks. “this is better than any dream.”
“so you are telling me that your familiar is a dragon?” Hoseok asked.
“Uhum.” Jimin nodded.
“and that he was able to communicate with you through dreams?”
“Yeah, something like that.”
“and you created a magic pool so that he can live with you?”
“Yoongi and Kookie helped.”
“You Make such a beautiful couple!” Jin said, pink hair covered in glitter, he was still wearing his work attire.
“Thank you.” Tae made a disappointed sound.
“You And kookie too, baby.” Jimin winks at Tae, who has his head out of the pool.
“I don’t get how can you call him a baby?!! He is huge!!!” Namjoon exclaimed.
“Don’t be rude, Joonie.” Jin says hitting the warlock’s arm.
“Yoongi said that Taetae is still pretty young in dragon years. He is just a little bit older than Kookie.” Jimin said.
Yoongi came back from inside Jimin’s house. He was still covered in dirty and sweat from digging the pull where Tae would live. Jimin said he could to it using magic but Yoongi insisted on doing it himself.
Kookie was sleeping under a tree, Tae occasionally splashing him with water when, accidentally , little fir balls came out of his mouth when he snored.
“Wait, Wait! You told us that day that all water dragons were killed! How is he still alive?!” Namjoon asks.
“Well, you see, I believe that Tae’s family came from a generation of familiars. He must have been an egg when the hunts started and the witch decided to hide him.”
Yoongi’s arm was around Jimin’s shoulder, pushing the boy against himself. Jimin’s friends were silent.
“THATS AWESOME!!” Hoseok screamed opening his arms, arms almost hitting Jin’s and Namjoon’s faces. “Your familiar is so cool Chim!”
“Honestly, I always thought you would get something small, like Namjoon’s demon squirrel.”
“ Hey! Koya is not annoying!” Namjoon said crossing his arms on his chest.
“Admit it baby, Koya is a little devil.” Jin said, pinching Namjoon’s cheeks.
“he got inside my pants once!” Hoseok said.
Yoongi laughed, hiding his face on Jimin’s neck. “Our friends are funny.”
“They are.”
“Ew, you are so lovey Dovey, it’s disgusting.” Hoseok said, Jimin just stuck his tongue out in response.
“Like we didn’t have to watch you making out with your two boyfriends!” Yoongi said.
Tae moved his head up and down as if he agreed with Yoongi. Jimin noted that him dragon really likes to cuddle the dragon trainer, always nosing his neck and making purring noises. The witch couldn’t help but wonder if it was because they shared a soul or because his boy was that charming.
“Okay, I called you all here to meet my familiar and not to discuss relationships!” Jimin said. Tae nosed his neck, his cold scales making Jimin shiver.
The boys continued to argue until Kookie had enough and tried to blow up Hoseok’s hair.
It was dark already. Jimin was petting Tae’s scales while the dragon purred, eyes closed. Kookie was long asleep.
“I’m so happy for having found you.” The boy whispered, kissing the dragon’s snout.
Tae opined an eye, licking Jimin’s face. “Me too” the dragon Answered.
They kept on cuddling each other until Yoongi came back from his shower. Hair wet and falling on his eyes. Jimin’s shirt looked a little tighter on the boy than it did on himself. He looked cute and cuddly but still insanely hot.
“Are you still here?” He asked from the door.
“I came to say goodnight.” Jimin Answered.
“It’s getting cold, I don’t want you to get sick.” Yoongi said, towel still around his neck. “Okay.”
Jimin presses his face against the dragon’s one last time before going to join his boyfriend. His dragon gets completely under water.
As soon he is arm's length, Yoongi holds him against his chest. Jimin’s arms go around his waist, like they got so used to do.
“Hi.” Yoongi says.
“HI, there pretty boy.” Jimin Answers winking.
Yoongi smiles at him, gums on full display.
Jimin kisses his cheek, then his nose, forehead and eyes, then finally his lips.
Yoongi grabs his hair, pushing them closer together. Jimin’s hands lower until they are holding Yoongi’s hips. The older boy closes the door and presses Jimin against it.
Jimin opens his mouth letting Yoongi explore it with his tongue.
They kiss for what feels like hours, their mouths swollen and red. And they get finally separated Yoongi presses their foreheads together.
“Let me take care of you.” He whispers. Jimin almost moans from the older boy’s voice.
He nods.
Yoongi holds his hands while they turn all the lights out.
When Jimin wakes up on the middle of the night he doesn’t feel scared.
He can hear Yoongi breathing on the other die of the bed, his naked back turned to Jimin. The boy smiles on seeing the marks he left on his boyfriend’s back. He hopes that Yoongi Won’t mind them.
His thighs and neck aren’t much better, the red and purple marks that Yoongi left are sore but in a good way. He gets up quietly. His feet touching the cold floor. He is naked too. He steals the covers, making Yoongi curl on himself in a cute manner.
He can’t help but giggle.
He walks to the window, he can see the pool and Kookie sleeping.
If he concentrates really hard he can see the shape of his familiar sleeping, all curled up at the bottom of the pool. His heart fills up with affection.
Yoongi groans from the bed, his hand petting his side as if he is looking for Jimin, his face turning into a frown. Jimin can’t help but think that his boyfriend is the cutest thing.
“What are you doing up?” Yoongi’s voice is rough from sleep.
“Just admiring what I have.” He says softly.
“Can’t you do that from bed? It’s cold without you."
Jimin laughs and throws himself on the bed. Yoongi hugging him to his chest immediately. The older boy makes a humming sound while rubbing his face on Jimin’s hair.
“Jimin?”
“Yes?”
“I love you.”
Jimin can feel the tears forming on his eyes.
“Princess, are you crying?” Yoongi says, Jimin can hear the smile on his voice.
“I’m not.” He sniffs.
“Do you not me? That’s why you are crying?” Yoongi says cupping Jimin’s face.
“You know that I do.” Jimin hits his chest.
“I do, I know.” The way yoongi is looking at him is so soft and in love that Jimin don’t think that he will ever be used to it.
“I love you, yoongi.” Yoongi kisses his forehead, Jimin smiles.
They fall asleep on each other arms, the moonlight entering the room making everything more romantic, their dragons are sleeping soundly. Jimin never felt so happy, so complete.
Maybe some thinks are just meant to be.
