~A Sunflower Bouquet For Us~
There was a slight cool breeze blowing on August sixth at the secret base in Manitoba Canada the secret base belonged to one Tyson Smith AKA Kenny Omega it was his favorite secret spot that only so few knew about but today many people would know of this location and its beauty. Today was very special indeed it was the Wedding no one expected to ever happen and those who did expect it knew it was a love that would never be fully broken.
Today was Kenny and Kota's private wedding the guest list was only about thirty but it was enough for the two who had been ready to wed for a while but had to wait mostly due to New Japan Events they couldn't skip or sign off on but today was their day it had always been their day since they first met in the ring ten years ago in DDT a match neither one would ever forget and it became their anniversary of sorts even more important than their dating anniversary.
Sunflowers were the main scenery apart from the beautiful lake that the dock would be their alter to wed. At around eleven in the morning guests started to show up but the Golden Lovers were in the little shack getting ready together since they didn't believe in the whole groom not seeing the bride beforehand. They were always together no matter what even today they gave off smiles waiting for the best men to arrive which was Matt and Nick Jackson aka the Young Bucks and their dearest friend who was like a brother to the both of them Michael Nakazawa who was the first person Kenny met when he first came to Japan before he met Kota finally. Michael was already someone Kota trusted with his life and made sure he was the one to help Kenny in any situation once the blond arrived in Japan and to no one's surprise the three hit it off right away sure some things got lost in translation but soon enough Kenny could talk to them without Michael's help at all.
"Are you nervous, Ken-tan?" Kota asked fixing Kenny's tie that was a mess. "Nervous? About marrying you? Hell, no not at all if anything I'm feeling excited and happy. I didn't think I would ever get married and then I fell in love with the man who Phoenix Splashed his way into my heart. Bu-san, I've been waiting for a day like this for ten years. I lost you once I'm never losing sight of you again. I love you." Kenny's hands holding Kota's was a moment they always treasured their heads leaned close before the door opened with Nick yelling "Happy Wedding Day you two love birds!!" With Matt and Michael close behind him the Golden Lovers started to laugh their hands still locked in each other's. "Well someone else is really excited huh? Did our parents arrive yet?" Kenny questioned Matt who gave off a nod.
"Yup not too long after we did. Saki, Yuki, Henry and Sarah arrived together in one car. Your sister, Kenny is running late she forgot your wedding gift not too soon after she left. She sends her deepest apologies but she should make it on time." Kenny wasn't surprised in the slightest Luna tends to be very scattered brained when it came to huge events like this.
He was happy that both of their parents arrived together he was so nervous they wouldn't get along at all but shockingly it was Yuki who was thrilled that his Kota was marrying someone that he approved of the following night after their first match. The blond remembered their first meeting quite fondly Yuki gave Kenny a look over and tried his hardest to shoo the man away but Kenny was polite and kind the whole time trying his very best to speak to both of them in their language he was a mess but Michael helped as much as he needed. Saki was very happy to meet the man and was quite taken by his kindness and well manners. At the end of the night she made sure to pull him aside and told him that Yuki accepted him. "Kenny-chan, be sure to visit anytime you are in the area and thank you for being friends with our son." She told him and he kept his word the best he could.
The day after Kota purposed to Kenny they visited Kota's family first and Yuki stated that a party must be thrown to celebrate. Henry and Sarah had dinner prepared for them when Kenny took Kota to his home since they told the news over video chat. It made both of them so happy that their parents were so accepting of their love for each other. Luna was of course thrilled cause she loved to have another brother in the family and Kota was so humble to her she couldn't wait to call him brother.
Michael came up to the both of them and patted their shoulders with a giant grin "I had a feeling you two would be soulmates that night at the dinner to celebrate your amazing match you two wouldn't stop staring at each other and even though you two couldn't talk very much I just knew someday you two would be friends and perhaps even more then that I’m so happy you two are finally getting married." The golden lovers looked to their dear friend and got misty eyed hugging him tightly. "Thank you so much for your help, Michael it was so tough in the beginning but you helped me without asking for much in return I would be so lost without you and your lessons. I love you, Michael." Kenny spoke first wiping his tears away. "Hey don't cry till after you say I do's okay? There isn't going to be a dry eye in the house once you two get wed." Matt spoke up fixing his own suit wearing his hair down as did Nick who chose not to wear a bandana this time around.
"Speaking of which it should be time soon. Don't worry about a thing the kids are really excited about this." Matt and Nick's kids wanted to be part of the wedding begging Kenny and of course he agreed. Courtney and Alison would be the flower girls who would toss rainbow petals ever since Kota saw the flowers online he knew it had to be a part of the wedding. Gregory and Zackary would be the ring bearers. Kenny and the children practiced for a whole week and made sure they got it down pact he was thrilled watching them perform their bit without his help at the last one the night before. Matt of course filmed it for Being The Elite and also as part of the wedding video he was working on late last night Nick helped along the way and they had to admit it was something that would make everyone cry. The bucks didn't say it out loud but watching Kenny with the kids made them think he would be an amazing father someday.
It was quite faint but the lovers could hear wedding music starting to play it was a bit different than most wedding songs it was a mix of calm and soothing video game tunes they both loved dearly. Looking into each other's eyes they knew it was time. "Michael, Matt and Nick thank you so much for everything we'll see you guys out there." Kenny said as the five all hugged once more before they would meet outside.
Sarah was in the front row taking pictures of everything she saw it was so beautiful and she couldn't help but start to laugh as Luna finally arrived. "I'm so sorry I didn't want to forget Kenny and Kota's wedding present I'm glad I made it." As she took a few breaths to collect herself and fix her hair. "Mom are you alright? You look like you are ready to burst into tears." Henry and Yuki were waiting for Kenny and Kota to arrive so they could walk down the aisle. "I'm just so happy for those two my son finally found love I had a feeling since he told me he wanted to face Kota in Japan I knew there was going to be something more to it. Luna remember the video call he made to us the day after the match? He was so excited and happy I knew he wanted to quit after WWE didn't pan out but thank goodness for Kota being Kota and giving him life into his dreams once more. That boy is perfect and will always make Tyson happy. I don't need to worry anymore."
Luna smiled at her Mother she always wanted her children to be happy no matter what they did and their Father was the same way so when Kenny told them he would be living in Japan they just nodded and smiled at him wishing him the very best and no matter what their home was still his home too. "Mom, look here come the girls." They watched as Alison and Courtney walked down the aisle carefully tossing the petals hand in hand. Everyone quickly took pictures and smiled at how cute they looked in their matching sunflower inspired dresses. Next the ring bearers Gregory and Zackary wearing black suits with blue shirts walked proudly acting like adults not once looking at anyone but their grandfather who would officiate the wedding who stood at the altar. The boys quietly gave each other a high five and stood with their dads.
Finally, it was time for the Golden Lovers to arrive as everyone stood up the music changed to "Cannot Defeat Air Man" which was one of their themes when they were a team back in DDT most of the guests were quite confused by the music choice but other guests smiled and laughed in joy at how fitting it was for them to arrive like this. Henry walked with Kota patting him on the back the man for the last few years was learning Japanese so he could speak to his son in law without any issues he took a deep breath whispering to Kota "Thank you for falling in love with my son you truly are the light he needed when we couldn't give it to him." Ibushi was overwhelmed with tears of joy and gratefulness such a kind family he was marrying into he thought as he stood to the left side with Michael. Then Kenny arrived with Yuki serious and stern walking together but the older man chuckled softly fixing Kenny's tie that kept coming undone they arrived at the altar as Yuki said "Welcome to the family, Tyson-san." Bowing to Kenny and then quickly taking a seat with Saki who had a tissue ready for him.
Matthew Massie stood still and smiled seeing Kenny and Kota look back at him and then at each other he cleared his throat and started the ceremony. As he spoke about love between the two they closed their eyes remembering everything that led them to this moment. From the video message Kenny posted on YouTube calling out Ibushi to Kota forcing Kenny to look at him in the ring as they embraced after being apart for far too long and everything between those days like the first kiss they had that wasn't in front of everyone to simple days like walking on the beach talking about life after wrestling. They both had goals they still wanted to make happen and they still wanted to change the world of wrestling forever till they couldn't wrestle anymore.
They both chuckled as Matthew got their attention to face each other as Zackary and Gregory stood with them holding the rings on pillows the light from the sun shined onto them no diamonds either just simple silver wedding bands with words inside the ring no one else would know. "Kota Ibushi, do you take Tyson Smith to be your husband to love and to hold forever as long as you both shall live?" He asked as Kota nodded with a smile. "I do." He spoke in clear English not once letting go of Kenny's hands. "Tyson Smith, do you take Kota Ibushi to be your husband to love and to hold forever as long as you both shall live?" The blond laughed softly and nodded his head as well. "I do I will say I do a million times if I have to." The little boys gave Matthew the rings then quickly taking their places again with ease and grins.
As the rings were slipped on the lovers' fingers Kota pulled out a piece of notebook paper and smiled. "I wanted to say something in English I have been trying very hard the last few months to learn these words in English so please bear with what I have to say to Kenny right now." The blond tilted his head he had no idea about this. "You are the sunflowers that bloom in my perfect garden you grow tall and strong and I know there have been times where you don't want to grow any longer and start to wilt due to loneliness and heartbreak but I will be there to water you again and make you feel brand new and light. I always loved you the moment you told me thank you for the match. Your funny words always put me to ease whenever I get nervous or feel like I can't do anything right. Your kindness makes everyone around you smile and feel joy. I don't ever want to be apart from you, Kenny. I love you very much. I look forward to the day where we can have children and tell them our story of falling in love and becoming the greatest tag team that ever lived."
Kota folded the paper carefully as Kenny held him close and started to cry. No one spoke a word for a good minute the blond was touched that Kota studied so hard to learn to speak wedding vows in English. "Ken-tan, you are going to ruin the suit." Ibushi whispered kissing Kenny's cheek as he pulled away. "I promise to be beside you forever and always. I won't ever leave your side I will keep making you laugh and making you feel loved. No more loneliness for either of us. Let's stay together always." He pulled Ibushi into his arms looking at Matthew waiting to hear those words. "By the power vested in me I know pronounce you Husband and Husband you may now kiss." He smiled as the current Golden Lovers theme played all around the guests and the lovers. Kenny kissed Kota first who in turn kissed back grinning like a cat. "We're married we are really married now." They both said at the same time Kenny of course carrying Kota bridal style to the party afterwards.
Before they entered the room Ibushi took Kenny's hand and made him view the lake and the surroundings. "I never realized how beautiful this place is, Ken-tan. I can see why you love coming here to get away from everything thank you for picking this place for us to get married I feel like it's now my home too." "Bu-san, any place I call home is your home now too okay? We are married now that means we are one for life just like we always wanted. Now I don't know about you but I heard we got a sweet chocolate fountain waiting for us inside and we both know how much you adore sweet foods." Kenny winked at him seeing Kota's eyes light up with joy. "We get a wedding cake too?" "You know I made sure Luna hooked us up too and you guessed it. It is a Mother theme style wedding cake. I was going to go with a Mega Man theme but I figured Mother would be more beautiful you know?"
The two held onto the door looking at each other one more time before they would be tackled by everyone and everything. "I love you." "I love you too and I promise you no more Kirbys on the bed." "Good because I plan to make sure I am the only thing you snuggle with from now on." "Oh come on its only seven Kirbys, Bu-san don't be so selfish." "Keep that up and I'm gonna take the PS4 controller off the bed too." Kota finished with a wink and a kiss on the lips.
"I think that might have been the best match I have ever had sure I feel sore all over but, Kota-san thank you for the match I hope we can be friends." In that moment I knew that this person Kenny Omega the man with curly blonds, blue eyes that could keep a soul at ease and a smile that could melt all the coldest ice was going to be someone I wanted in my life forever even if his Japanese wasn't the strongest or the best yet.
