Moonlight

Summary:

Itsuka and Momo study together late one evening.

[Prompt: Moonlight]

Work Text:

When Itsuka knocks on the door for Class 1-A’s dorm, she is certain she will get strange looks. And when someone opens the door, sure enough…

“Hey, you’re from Class 1-B,” one of the boys says, looking at her with a strange frown. She thinks he’s called Kaminari Denki.

Itsuka nods, smiling awkwardly. “Yeah, I certainly am. Um… can I see Momo?”

Kaminari’s expression changes to a rather annoying smile. “Oh, so you’re her girlfriend, are you? She said she’s dating a girl in 1-B but she never said who.”

Her blush gives her away. Sighing, Itsuka says, “Yes, I’m her girlfriend. Can I see her?”

“Sure,” he says, and he turns his head and yells, “Hey, Yaoyorozu! You’re girlfriend’s here!”

And as Itsuka blushes even redder than her hair, everyone in the common room stares over at them. Momo isn’t in here. So where is she?

“I’ll go find her,” Kaminari says, leaving Itsuka hovering in the doorway.

Sighing, the tall, serious boy called Iida Tenya walks over. “Sorry for his rudeness; he should have invited you in.”

Smiling awkwardly, she follows Iida into Class 1-A’s common room. Itsuka has only been in here once before, despite having dated Momo for two months now, and the time she was in here was before they started dating in the first place. She recognises all of the students, but she has never spoken to some of them.

“It is an honour for you to visit us in our common room,” Iida says, gesturing violently with his hands like he always does.

“It’s okay, really,” Itsuka says, wishing he would back off a bit.

“I assume you’re here to visit Yaoyorozu. We’re all aware of your relationship with our classmate and are very supportive of you two.”

“Oh shut up, Iida,” Kirishima says, grinning. “You’re scaring her.”

On the other side of the room, she sees Midoriya and Uraraka giggle and roll their eyes.

Thankfully, she is spared from this embarrassing conversation when Momo appears. She comes over and smiles, raising her eyebrows when she sees the boys all looking at them both.

“Should we go?” Momo says, adjusting her bag on her back.

Itsuka nods. “Yeah, let’s go.”

“Hey, where are you going?” Kaminari asks.

Momo smiles. “It’s a secret.”

And as the door swings shut behind them, they can hear several students wondering what the pair are up to.

They hold hands as they walk through the school.

“The funny thing is they think we’re up to something really exciting,” Momo says.

Itsuka grins. She’s right; they think the two of them are going on some amazing adventure, when really they’re just doing some extra studying in Momo’s classroom.

Soon, they are in the classroom and sat at adjacent desks, working through the stuff they wanted to work on. Itsuka works on English and Momo works on her knowledge of the history of Quirks, both of them silent but occasionally chipping in to help the other with whatever they’re struggling with.

But at one point, Itsuka gets distracted by the view out of the window. The sun has set and the sky is clear, stars patterned all over the dark-blue sky. And she can see the moon, shining in a half-moon form. It’s so pretty.

She jumps when Momo gives her a kiss.

“Stop daydreaming,” she says, smiling.

“It’s the evening.”

“Well stop evening dreaming, then.”

And Itsuka bursts out laughing, only shutting up when Momo kisses her again.
