“I can’t believe you got so far! You’re amazing, Ibara!” Pony says, holding her girlfriend’s hand as they sit in the stands at the UA Sports Festival, watching Bakugou and Todoroki compete in the final round.
Ibara smiles, but she doesn’t say anything. Yes, she got through the cavalry battle and beat Kaminari easily, but Iida defeated her so quickly it was kind of pathetic. But it’s still so nice for Pony to say that. And she jumped up and hugged Ibara the moment she appeared in Class 1-B’s seats in the stands, and has held her hand since.
“Thank you,” she says, trying her best to sound enthusiastic.
“Are you okay?” Pony asks, squeezing her hand.
“I think so. I’m just a bit… annoyed at how easily I was beaten.”
“I think you did amazingly. And anyway, you still got further than me. And your Quirk is still one of the most amazing ones I’ve never seen. Really.”
Ibara smiles, more genuinely this time. Pony puts her arm around her, and, even though they’re surrounded by their classmates, she gives Ibara a quick kiss.
“Thank you,” she says again, leaning against her.
Pony never fails to cheer her up.
