Chapter Text
It was a gloomy, rainy Sunday. Everyone was unpacking the last of the boxes, and one of these people,Yoongi, was unhappy about moving, especially while doing so.
“Why did we have to move here mom? It sucks, and I had some close friends back home.” Yoongi complained.
“Don’t worry; you’ll make new friends!” His mother encouraged.
“Mom, I didn’t have much friends, but still.”
“Aigoo!” She pinches his cheeks.“You’ll be fine! Don’t worry! Here, take this: it’s more clothes. But it’s the last box.” She handed him the final package. Yoongi took it, and ran upstairs as fast as he could, stomping. He placed the box down, and threw himself onto his bed.
The family only moved because of Mr. Min’s new job. When offered the opportunity, he snatched it. The decision to move was easy, but Yoongi wished they had not. Yoongi had friends in Daegu , had a school he was comfortable with
in Daegu , he had a life, in Daegu .
Yoongi was so nervous for his new school. Yoongi was getting into third year high school. What if no one likes me? What if everyone thinks I’m a creep? He thought to himself.
Yoongi was never good at making friends. He was trouble with others, and was shy and uncomfortable around people if they hadn’t met before.. He never had many friends. He only had the two back home, and they were obviously gone now.
Yoongi sighed, and began to unpack the box. He found the pajamas he got from his friend, started to whimper and shiver at the thought of them. He bottled the emotions in though.
“Yoongi! Get your brother! And come downstairs for dinner!” Yoongi’s mother yelled. He went to his brothers room. “Hyung, dinner is ready!” Yoongi called.
“Don’t care.” Junki replied, not looking up from his unpacking. “Now get out!” He added, frustrated.
“What’s up with you? Why are you mad?” Yoongi asked, noticing the tone in his brother’s voice.
“Some of my action figures are missing. They were... expensive.” He looked at Yoongi and raised a brow. “Did you take them?” He accused.
“No?”
“Well, then where are they?”
“I don’t know!”
“Liar! Where are they?!”
“I didn't take them! I swear !”
“Did you just yell at me?”
“NO! I mean no, no I didn’t.” Junki pushed Yoongi against the wall. Yoongi fell back, and onto the floor. Ow . “What was that for?” Yoongi questioned, rubbing his now-burning back. “For being annoying!” Junki replied, storming off to the other side of the room, furiously unpacking ridiculously.
Yoongi ran down stairs, and sat down at the table, upset about the interaction.
“What was that big coong noise?” His mother asked, spooning food onto her plate.
“Junki pushed me!” Yoongi yelled, crossing his arms and glaring menacingly at his plate.
“Well, I’m sorry to hear that. Can you please pass me the pork?”
“Mom, I said ‘Junki pushed me’!”
“ Yes , and I said ‘sorry to hear that’. I’m sorry, but what else do you want me to do?”
“Can’t you-”
“Hey, you stole my action figures!” Junki interrupted, coming down the stairs.
“NO! I DIDN’T!” Yoongi yelled back, slamming his fists onto the table.
Silence- except for his parents, who had started, and were now secluded in their own conversation.
“Mom! Dad!” Yoongi yelled, exclaiming for their attention. “Mom? Dad? Hello!” He continues. After the third time, their mother finally turns to him.
“What? Please I’m trying to have an important conversation with your father.” Yoongi frowns, turns back to his meal and continues eating. He doesn’t eat much, emotion consuming his appetite.
“I’m done.” Yoongi excuses himself. No one hears, but he still goes up stairs to finish unpacking. He puts his walkman on, and lets the music consume him as he unpacks..
Towards the end of his unpacking, at the bottom of the last box, he finds a Batman action figure. His brothers Batman action figure.
“Oh, crap.” He mumbles. “I guess I did take it.” Yoongi freaked out, despite knowing it was an honest mistake His brother’s wrath made him slide the figure underneath his bed. Oh well, Yoongi thought . Too bad. It wasn’t his fault.
Yoongi sighs in relief when he tosses the final box.
Ready for bed, he climbs into his pajamas and jumps into bed. He turns off the light, and tries to go to sleep. At some point, his mother opens the door to check on him. He knows it’s late. She goes over to Yoongi, and thinking he’s asleep, kisses his forehead. “Goodnight. I love you.” She whispers. “Goodnight.” He whispers back, as she closes his door.
