Chapter Text

"Sorry but you son is quirkless" that word, 'quirkless' was like a blade to heart. Until now he never though he would be quirkless, he wanted to be a hero since he first watched All Might saving people from a burning building, he only wanted to help people.

"So you're saying my son can't get a quirk?" Inko asked to doctor

"Not exactly, Mrs. Midoriya. You see, Izuku has an extra toe joint in his pinkie toe that means he getting a quirk is little than one percent." Izuku's eyes shined at that statement.

"So I can still get a quirk and become a hero?!". Doctor feel bad for Izuku but there was nothing he can do.

"I don't know how to say this little Midoriya but you getting a quirk is nearly zero, so ı suggest you stop thinking being a hero. But if you want to help people you can always become a doctor or a detective, right?" Izuku got sad again but this time it wasn't that bad because doctor was right, he can always help people by healing them or help heroes with crime cases. Then something clicked in his brain, what will everyone think about him? More importantly what will Kacchan think about him? He was the guy who named him 'Deku' after all. Will he bully him? Will he make fun of him?

"Izuku, honey lets go home our appointment is finished." Said Inko with a sad tone. She knows how badly his son wants to be a hero but there was nothing she can do.

 It was the first time they will go to the school but in the summer everyone heard Izuku being quirkless.

"You heard about Izuku?"

"No what happened?"

"They say he doesn't have a quirk, its called being quirkless"

"No way, thats so sad!"
"

Shut up or hes gonna hear us! Look he is coming!" Izuku's classmates were talking and Izuku heard all of that.

After the bell rings all of the toddlers go to their classes. When Izuku go to his class everyone turned and looked at him except Kacchan He was sleeping. Izuku saw classes bully getting closer to him and he tried to ignore him. But class bully fallowed him and when Izuku tried to sit to his chair he pulled the chair and that made izuku fall to his butt. Everyone started to laugh except for Izuku and bully. Izuku gave him a death glare but bully didn't even flinch, he just kicked Izuku's stomach. Everyone laugh harder when bully said "Did everyone heard Izuku was quirkless? Hey someone wake up Bakugou he's gonna love this."

Someone waked up Kacchan and he was really mad at this. He said "The fuck do you want?" He pointed to Izuku and the bully. Kacchan's eyes got wide and come closer to bully. Then said "Leave him alone" Everyone was suprised that Kacchan trying to defend Izuku, even the bully was dumbfounded. But he didnt care he just kicked Izuku in the stomach one more time.

Kacchan got more angry and said "I said FUCKING LEAVE HIM ALONE!" then explosions started to form in his hands. Now everyone was dumbfounded. Bully started to walk backwards a little and said "Calm down Bakugou I was just joking" Bakugou got even more angry and said "If you ever try to hit him again I will blast you to the fucking moon. Am I clear?" Bully nodded instantly and run to his desk.

Than Kacchan come closer to Izuku and raised his hand. Izuku closed his eyes and waited for a blast but Kacchan only put his hand to his shoulder and said "Deku... Deku look at me." Izuku looked at him with watery eyes and then hugged him. Now Kacchan was dumbfounded, he didnt expected this. Than Izuku started muttering these words"Thank you... thank you..." Katsuki felt bad for him. Before he got his quirk Izuku was his only friend and when he manifested a powerful quirk everyone tried to befriend him. When he learned Izuku being quirkless he already know what to do, protect him.

"Look Deku, we are gonna talk about this later, now we have to fucking enjoy our first day at school" Izuku stopped crying and said

"Okay Kacchan... thank you" he muttered the last part.

At the park Izuku and Katsuki was sitting on a bench.

"So, what did doctor said?"

"He said that I have an extra toe joint in my pinkie toe and because of it me getting a quirk is little than one percent... Im sorry Kacchan I cant keep our promise about being heroes together." Katsuki frowned at the statement.

"Look at me Deku, being a hero is fucking more than fighting villains. You can become a hero by being a doctor and saving lives or being a police and protecting the law, so if I hear you saying 'I cant become a hero' I wil fucking blast you, am I clear?" Izuku wiped his tears and looked at Katsuki like All Might was talking to him.

"Kachann... maybe I cant keep our promise by being the top heroes but I can guarantee one thing, I will become your hero by helping you when you need and standing by your side everytime!" Katsuki smiled at this "Now thats the Deku I know, hey wanna go to arcade?" "Sure" Izuku smiled and they started to walk to arcade.

9 Years Later

"Now, I would have gave you your handouts for your future plans but why bother?! I know you all want to be pro heroes!" Than everyone started to cheer and show their quirks off.

"Hey teach, dont lump me with these extras in the same group, Im on a different level than them" everyone turned to Katsuki and argued with him

"You think you're better than us ?!"

"Yeah we are good as you!"

"Hey Bakugou, dont you try to get into U.A.?" The anger in the room turned into curiosity and confusion

"U.A.? Isn't that the national school!?"

"Yes it is and I heard they were in the top 0.2 this year!"

Katsuki started smiling until he heard what the teacher said next

"Isn't Midoriya applying for U.A. too?"

Everyone turned to Midoriya and started laughing.

"Midoriya and U.A.? Impossible!"

"Midoriya appliying to U.A.? He cant even survive there!" Midoriya was so embarassed he looked down and said nothing. Than he heard explosions

"EVERYONE SHUT THE FUCK UP, HE IS APPLYING FOR THE GEN. ED. NOT FOR HERO COURSE"

Everyone turned to Katsuki and shut up. Midoriya smiled to Katsuki and gave him a thumps up.

While they were coming back from school Katsuki spoke

"Deku you need to defend yourself, I cant always be right near you to help you. I mean you were going to martial arts classes since you learned you were quirkless use them sometime."

"I know Kacchan I just dont want to get into trouble"

"Yeah, sure"

"HEY, are you trying to say I dont know martial arts!?"

"Well I never saw you bea-" Katsuki's eyes opened like he saw a corpse. But when Izuku looked whats happening he saw a man stabbing a pro hero in middle of the road. The murderer saw the kids and tried to run but Katsuki didn't let him by flying over the man and blocking his path.

"Deku call the police I'm gonna take care of this man" said Katsuki

While Katsuki was keeping the man busy Izuku started to write police's number.

"You damn kids, I'm not gonna get arrested" said the murderer and took out a knife. Izuku stopped talking with the police when he saw the knife

"Kid, kid whats happening? The man you just described is Blade, he can make knifes and swords out of his body, kid are you there?"

After hearing this Izuku tried to warn Katsuki about his quirk but no one could hear anything from the explosions Katsuki was making, than the murderer kicked him in the crouch and pushed him to a tree. Izuku started to run towards to the murderer and tackled him, making him drop the knife in his hand, than Izuku started to punch him until the man made a knife and stabbed him on the shoulder. While Izuku screamed in pain the murderer kicked him in the stomach and than pushed him to the wall. While this was happening Katsuki tried to get up to help Izuku but the pain was intense. He screamed "Leave him alone, come at me!". After hearing this the man rushed toward to Katsuki. Katsuki raised his hand and made the biggest explosion that he had ever made. The murderer blasted back and hit his back to a wall.

Katsuki run towards to Izuku and try to calm him down. But at that time the murderer get up and made a knife, than he rushed towards to Katsuki to stab him but when he was only a few feet away Izuku get up and stand between Katsuki and the murderer. Than he got stabbed in the heart

"Izuku! Izuku look at me-"

Is

"-you're not gonna die alright! Just keep looking at me!-"

"-I knocked out the man and the police is coming-"

"-I called the ambulance too, just keep your eyes open dammit!"

Bad

These words. His father always used to say them. 'Pain is not always bad. Sometimes you take pain for your loved ones. Can you say you endure that pain for nothing? Sometimes you just have to be strong and laugh at pain.'

'I just have to laugh at pain, yes, I just have to be stronger than pain, Yes, I just need to be more powerful than pain, YES-'

After a second the hole on his chest starts to heal up and his heart starts to beat again. Than Izuku's eyes opens and he begins to cough up blood.

"Wha... What the fuck?"

Katsuki Bakugou was a lot of things but being an idiot wasn't one of them

"Izuku... What did just happen?"

"Wha-What? We were fighting a villain and then I got sta..." After the realization he look down to his chest. His uniform had a hole where his heart located but he was fine. There was no blood even he just coughed up some. Like it was vaporized. Than he looked at Katsuki who had a confused look on his face. he instantly hugged Katsuki and started saying:

"We are okay... we are okay!"

"Izuku what the fuck was that?! And what the fuck was that healing thing?! You said you were quirkless! And-"
Katsuki stopped for a moment

"-And I thought I lost you" Izuku was ready for a confront but he did never thought this. He just looked at Katsuki dumbfounded

"You're my only friend dumbass of course I would get scared." Izuku felt something cold coming from his eyes. When he was going to say somthing the police came.

"Kids are you alright? Did you get any injuries? Where is the man now?"

"The murderer is unconscious right now and we had an injury."

"You 'had' an injury?"

"Yes Mr. uhh..."

"Akio, you can call me Akio."

"Yes Mr.Akio, we had an injury but it turned out my friend here has fucking regenerative abilities" The police officer was confused at this statement.

"You didn't know your friend has rgenerative abilities?"

"I thought I was quirkless Mr.Akio, I had an extra toe joint in my pinkie toe and I never showed any sings of a quirk."

"Hmm, looks like you belong to a minority that both have an extra toe joint and a quirk. Where did you got injured from?"

"My heart, why?" The police officers eyes widened and started thinking about something.

'Normal regeneration quirks don't heal the heart or brain, we have to look at this boys quirk.'

While the man was thinking another police officer came with the murderer and put him in the back of the police car. Then he said "Hey you guys, can both of you come with me? We have to ask you what happened here"

"Sure"

"Yeah whatever"

At the police station

*After an expalanation*

"So you're basically saying you fight a criminal that has been killing pro heroes and you have won against him?" Questioned the police officer

"Well Mrs. Etsudo we have pretty powerful quirks." Said Katsuki while looking at the hole on Izuku's uniform 

"Hmm. Normally I would have make you do community service for quirk usage but you guys catched a pretty dangerous villain so I'm gonna make an exception just for this time."

"Thank you Mrs. Etsudo!" They both said.

"Now, get out of my office you brats!." And they get out of the police station.

While they were walking home. Izuku looked at his watch and it was already 8 pm.

"Uh oh, my mom is gonna kill me I have to hurry. See you at the entrance exam.Bye." Izuku said while running to his home.

When Izuku opened the door he found Inko crying.

"Mom? Mom! What happened?!"

"*sob* I-I-I was crying *sob*"

"Well I can see that but-"

*Slap*

"What we-were *sob* you t-t-thinking?! Y-Y-You scared me so much! *sob*"

"Mom, mom don't worry, I'm okay as you see. Nothing happened to-"

"Nothing happened!? If nothing happened than why police officers came to me and said 'Your son is with us, we have to ask him some questions'?"

"Umm... Okay you won, I was gonna make a story up but I think I don't have a chance"

*After another explanation*

Inko was crying so badly and because of it Izuku started to cry as well

"*sob* D-Do you have any idea how r-reckless you were?! *sob* I could have lose you!"

"*sob* I-I'm sorry mom!"

Than they hugged

At the Bakugou's house

"Where the fuck were you, you shitrag?!"

"Fuck you old hag! I'm going to my room!"
