Chapter Text
"I'm leaving on a business trip, I'll be gone for about a week. There's left over tuna salad in the fridge"
"I don't want any more of your Facebook recipe Tuna sa- wait, business trip?" Hoseok, turns away from the Uni work on his desk to face his mother standing at his doorway.
"Yeah, it's like a week", she says as she wraps a black scarf around her neck, adjusting it to protect her face from the chill outside.
"You're a dentist", he says quiet dumbly, confused as to why a dentist would need to be gone for an entire week, what would a bunch of dentists do for a week? Brush teeth? Pass out flyers about the importance of flossing?
His mother just hums noncommittally, and grabs the handle of her small, black, carry on luggage.
"Try to get out while I'm gone! You know... get laid or something!"
"Oh my god! Leave!" Hoseok groans, as his face burns. His mother has always been too honest and blunt for her own good, never filtering her thoughts. It drives him nuts.
She only laughs before pulling her phone out and reading a new message, "Alright, but only because my ride is here. Help me with the bag dear, I need to grab my charger."
Hoseok grumbles and pouts, but takes her small bag to the car nonetheless. He opens the front door to see a sleek black car with tinted windows in front of their home, and a man with bleached between-dyes hair, in a crisp white dress shirt, untucked, and messy (and somehow still very attractive) waiting by it.
"Umm, hi." Hoseok says awkwardly, unsure if this was the ride his mother was referring to. It seems a bit much for a dentist. Maybe his mothers career pays more than he thought? Maybe he should consider becoming a dentist. Then again, people's gross teeth and spit, and he'd probably smell a lot of bad breath. Never mind, scratch that idea.
The stranger narrows his eyes like he's sizing him up, and responds with a curt, "Hi" of his own.
Hoseok shuffles from foot to foot for a moment, unsure what to do, until his mother, thankfully, comes out of the house and exclaims, "Yoongi! This is Hoseok, my son. Hoseok this is Yoongi, my assistant. Get the trunk for Hobi, please Yoongi, we're running quite late. Actually, best not open the trunk. Just get the door."
Yoongi nods once, and opens the backdoor for Hoseok to throw his mother's bag in before moving to open the passenger door for his mother to gracefully take her seat. Hoseok stares dumbly for a moment before his mother's assistant - Yoongi, was his name - snapped a quick 'hurry up', and walked around to hop into the drivers seat. Starting the car as Hobi finishes throwing the suitcase into the seat and shuts the door. His mother's window rolls down, and Hoseok leans down to see her face properly, catching a glimpse of the handsome man behind her as well. He quickly averts his eyes from him and meets his mother's.
"One week. Stay safe Hobi."
Hoseok nods his head, murmuring a 'you too' as the car begins to pull away. Hoseok watches it turn the corner as he's left wondering why a dentist needs an assistant/chauffer anyways. And why he had to be so damn gorgeous, what the fuck.
