He woke up, slowly opening his eyes, trying to fight the exhaustion that came with every morning. Taehyung was on his side, chest rising and falling with deep breaths, drooling slightly on the pillow, which, admittedly, was a little gross, but Jimin loved him, so he could deal with a little drool in the mornings.
The faint aroma of coffee was coming from the kitchen and Jimin’s stomach grumbled in anticipation. Namjoon wasn’t that great at cooking usually, but he made the best coffee Jimin has ever tasted, so he wasn’t too worried about his boyfriend being in the kitchen for now.
He smiled to himself, gently stretching his limbs as to not wake Tae up, and slowly sat up. The gentle morning light was falling on his boyfriend’s face, making him look almost angelic, and Jimin felt his heart squeeze at the sight. It’s been a long time since he could let himself wake up slowly, taking his time, and he suddenly remembered why he loved waking up with his boyfriends.
Very carefully, he climbed over Tae to get off the bed and go into the kitchen, where Namjoon was waiting for him. His broad shoulders were hunched over the sink, where he hummed to himself while washing up some dishes. Jimin hugged his torso from behind.
“Good morning baby” he mumbled sleepily, burying his face in his boyfriend’s back “you’re up early today”.
“I always get up early, Jiminnie” chuckled Joon, finishing up with the dishes and turning in his lover’s arms “it’s you who’s always sleeping in the mornings. You should really start going to sleep earlier”.
Jimin hummed in appreciation as Namjoon’s hands carded through his hair, gently massaging his scalp. “Oh god, please never stop” he said, leaning into the touch and sighing softly “I missed waking up and finding you still here. You’re usually already in uni” he complained, moving so that his head was now nestled in the crook of Namjoon’s neck.
He heard a chuckle, “it’s not my fault you stay in bed for so long, love”. Jimin suddenly felt a pair of lips on the crown of his head “but I missed this, too”.
The shorter man sighed, overcome with affection, tightening his hold on Joon’s waist.
“Hey, I want cuddles too!” Taehyung entered the kitchen, yawning, and, all of a sudden, Jimin found himself engulfed in a hug both from the front and from the back. The warmth radiating from his boyfriends’ chests was lulling him back to sleep and his eyes were now closing from how tired he was.
Tae’s lips found Jimin’s neck and slowly started leaving gentle pecks all over, while Joon was drawing circles on his back, peacefully smiling down at his lovers.
Jimin’s heart was about to burst from the affection and the love he felt, a feeling so powerful he had been sure he’d never find it in his life, but alas, fate had different plans.
He met Namjoon during his first year of college. He was frantically running to his next class while he clashed with the tall man and fell. Tae would always tease them about how cliche it all sounded but at that moment, when Jimin looked up, he was sure he’d never seen such a beautiful person in his life before.
Namjoon was so flustered, trying to lift Jimin from the ground while at the same time making sure he didn’t fall down himself. Jimin, on the other hand, was so captivated by the other man’s beauty, that he couldn’t take his eyes off him.
They started going out, first as friends and then as lovers, until Jimin found Tae.
Taehyung was an art student in the same college as Jimin and Namjoon, and they all met at a party. When Jimin first looked him in the eyes he was taken aback by all the emotions displayed there, and as soon as he looked at his whole face he felt himself faint (at this point Tae would always interrupt him, embarrassingly saying how dramatic he was, but everyone knew how smitten Jimin was, so no one else really commented on it).
It was weird at first, and Jimin was worried that Namjoon would feel jealous and break up with him, but the elder understood and they slowly worked through it, together.
After a few months, his boyfriends started getting more and more comfortable with each other, often ending up cuddling on the couch while Jimin was out, until one day he caught them making out in the kitchen. It took him by surprise, but he couldn’t deny seeing the shy, tentative glanced Taehyung would throw Namjoon while they were watching a movie, or how the tall man would always be gentle with the other and pay attention to every word he said, especially when Tae was excitedly describing a new idea for a project, so he couldn’t say he didn’t see it coming.
After that they had a very long and serious conversation about their relationship, which ended up with Tae freaking out and leaving for a few days, until Jimin and Namjoon showed up at his dorm, faces showing clear signs of distress (Jimin would never admit it but he cried for hours after Taehyung left, and he cried even more when he agreed to be their boyfriend).
And now, there they were, cuddling in the kitchen, sleepy but content, while their coffee was turning cold.
“I love you, both of you” Jimin said, trying desperately to move closer to his boyfriends, even though there was really no space between them anymore. “I love you, too” he heard Namjoon say, soft lips kissing his forehead “and you, Taehyungie”. Tae giggled, hiding his face into Jimin’s neck “love you, too, all of you, so much”.
Jimin smiled, he could feel his cheeks hurting from how happy he was “I’m so lucky, so, so lucky. Thank you for being with me, thank you so much”. Namjoon and Taehyung didn’t say anything, just pressed their lips to his neck and he slowly exhaled, feeling so content and so at home.
Their coffee might be getting cold but it was okay, because even without the coffee, Jimin wouldn’t have it any other way.
