Angel's Touch

Summary:

That day she learned not everyone was created equal, but someone will be made to keep the piece in such a world. A sharp pain in her back made her wince and flip over on her stomach. She could feel something shifts under her skin between her shoulders and a heat spread down her spine. She whimpered in pain and panic when the sound of tearing fabric filled the air as white wings popped out of her back. Izuka watches as the scrapes and new bruises vanish before her eyes. Straining her neck she stares amazed at the wings on her back they twitch and stretch at her attention. Tears gather in her eyes blurring the image of the one thing she has always wanted, a Quirk.

Work Text:

“Stop it! Kacchan! Can’t you see he’s crying?” A small green haired girl with straight bangs and two curly pigtails stood shaking in a conflict that she just couldn’t ignore. Izuka Midoriya was four years old when she stood up to her so-called friend Katsuki Bakugou, standing between him and the other boy on the ground crying. Katsuki looked at her in disbelief, his two other friends smirking and showcasing their Quirks, one with demon wings and another with elongated limbs. Katsuki just smirks and strikes one of his fists to an open palm sparking explosions around them.

“Even though you’re Quirkless,” He growled at the girl. Stepping forward, his friends following behind him. She stood her ground though putting her fists up to show she wasn’t scared of him. Katsuki's face scrunched up and looked like he didn’t quite want to go through with his plan anymore. “You want to pretend to be a hero, Deku?”

Izuka pouted, tears coming to her eyes but stayed firm, lowering herself more into a fighting position.

“I’m not scared of you Kacchan. If I am pretending to be a hero doesn’t that make you the villain?!”

Katsuki flinched at her words, feeling the heat of embarrassment creep up his cheeks. His friends are pushing forward. “ You’ll regret saying that!” the ones with creepy long fingers shouts at her before all three are pushing to attack.

After that it was all a blur to Izuka, the boy she was protecting sat there with her still crying and hoping she was okay. Katsuki and his friends left once she simply curled into a ball and ignored them.

Useless!

Pathetic!

Weak!

You’re no Hero Deku

Tears streamed down from the corner of her eyes as the green haired girls stared up at the summer blue sky. Her baggy All Might shirt ruined and slightly crispy from Katsuki’s quirk, though she noticed that he only touched where clothes would be to protect her skin from getting burnt. The other boys just hit wherever they could get in. That day she learned not everyone was created equal, but someone will be made to keep the peace in such a world. A sharp pain in her back made her wince and flip over on her stomach. She could feel something shift under her skin between her shoulders and a heat spread down her spine. She whimpered in pain and panic when the sound of tearing fabric filled the air as white wings popped out of her back. Izuka watches as the scrapes and new bruises vanish before her eyes. Straining her neck she stares amazed at the wings on her back, they twitch and stretch at her attention. Tears gather in her eyes blurring the image of the one thing she has always wanted, a Quirk!

The boy who she helped hovered over her anxiously and seemed to want to help her but didn’t know how to. She looked at him and smiled while focusing and placing her hand out for him to shake, the minute he did her quirk activated and healed any bruises he had. At first she flinched at the feeling of his pain but then she laughed, amazed by the ability to heal so quickly. The two parted soon after and Izuka ran home with her new white feathery wings flapping clumsily behind her.

“MOMMA!” She didn’t even bother coming in quietly,  too excited to stop herself from shouting, footsteps could be heard running from the kitchen. Midoriya Inko had a very similar face to her daughter, her wide emerald eyes filled with panic as she ran through the house to the front door just to stop and stare at her daughter, closed the door and showed her newly required wings to her mother. “Look! Look! I got them while I was out playing! I got a healing Quirk and Wings! Momma isn’t that amazing?”

Izuka continued to babble as her mom got closer to her, Inko’s heartbeat slowing at her daughter's excited energy. Of course, she expected something to be wrong when she yelled for her but was overly happy to be wrong and that it was just her daughter who was excited. Inko allowed her daughter to continue mumbling about all the applications her quirk has while pulling her into the kitchen to sit down so she could start making katsudon for such an amazing surprise.

“So how do you know you can heal Izuchan? Did you get hurt?” Inko inquired once she calmed down. Izuka swallowed guiltily and her smile dimmed slightly, but she kept her smile because she knew it was worth it if she got her quirk.

“ I-I just hurt myself while playing, t-then my wings sprouted and my injuries went away so it made sense that’s what my quirk was.” Izuka couldn’t stop her stutter and cringe when she realized she sucks at lying to her mother. Inko knew this as well and glanced back at her daughter only to see her guilty face. With a sigh, she wiped her hands off and sat at the table with her daughter. She took in the dirty and ripped shirt, the scuffed shoes and the leftover tear tracks on her cheeks. Inko knew her daughter and when her daughter lied to her it was always to protect someone else from getting into trouble. Most of the time it was her friend's son Katsuki. So with that in mind, she could connect what really happened to her daughter. But this was a happy moment and Inko didn't want to take that away from Izuka, not after her hope being crushed by doctor after doctor believing that she'd never have a quirk. And yet here she was looking at her mother with a guilty look for just trying to protect someone who thought the same thing as all those doctors. To Inko, her daughter was already the best Hero out there. So she smiled and mused Isuka’s hair running her hand down to her cheek to wipe away the remaining dirt there.

“Okay well, you better be more careful alright? Most healing quirks have a backlash from too much use and I don't want you to strain yourself before we know what that is.” Izuka smiles brightly at her mother placing her much smaller hand over hers and nuzzling in.

“ I promise momma.” Izuka can’t help but be grateful for this amount of pure exception from her mother. Tears gather in the corner of her eyes and they become heavy before finally, she passes out. Inko is right there to catch her body.

“Izuchan!!”
